Chapter 1
“You’re joking, right?” Peter said, tugging on the sleeve of Tony’s blazer. He chuckled when Tony scoffed (It’s Armani, Parker, get your grubby teenage hands away from it, he had said once). “Come on, Mr Stark, you’ve got to tell me. If you don’t, I will web all of your suits to your workshop floor.”
“Try that, and I’ll never speak to you again,” Tony threatened, a playful smirk tugging on his lips. He wrapped his arm around Peter’s shoulders, using his free hand to push his sunglasses up on the frame of his nose. “Do you know what patience is?” He questioned.
Peter rolled his eyes, shrugging his arm away. He walked by the heel of Tony’s feet, looking like a lost puppy following some poor random citizen. “Of course I do,” he mumbled, crossing his arms as he walked. “Not an idiot.”
“Could’ve fooled me,” Tony replied, “Look, kid, Thor, and Loki are upstairs right now. Please don’t embarrass yourself. Or do, because then I’ll have something else to hold against you for the rest of your life.”
Peter scoffed, “You say ‘something else’ like you already have something to ‘hold over me’.”
Tony rolled his eyes, “Don’t be obtuse, Parker. I’ve got a database of embarrassing things you’ve done. I could release all of them with one click.”
Peter watched Tony’s face, trying to figure out if he was bluffing. They walked in silence, which was hard for Peter, until he figured out he could just ask FRIDAY.
“Fri? Does Mr Stark have an embarrassing folder of me?”
“Wait!” Tony said, face red, but it was too late.
“Yes, mini boss. Sir has a folder in which he calls ‘my son doing stupid things’. He has added to this folder sporadically over the two years in which you’ve known each other,” FRIDAY explained, speaking into the robotic voice that Peter had grown to love.
Peter turned to Tony, a sly grin on his face. He laughed at Tony’s face, playfully elbowing him in his side. “Oooooh, Mr Stark. ‘My son’, huh? I knew it! Should I start calling you ‘dad?’ Oh my god, am I your heir? This is all so exciting. Is this why I’m meeting Thor and Loki? Is today ‘take your son to work’ day?”
Tony flipped him off, but he smiled in a way that made Peter all happy. He looked carefree, or content, and Peter couldn’t believe he was behind all of that.
“I’m going to block your access to my AI,” Tony said, before looking at Peter weirdly. Oh no, Peter knew what that face meant. Tony Stark was about to talk about his feelings. “Uh, just so you know, I do genuinely think of you as my- well, my kid? And yes, you’re my heir. Was going to wait until your eighteen to tell you that... hm, oh well.”
Peter’s jaw dropped. He froze in his spot, tilting his head as he listened to Tony speak. “Wait. Hold up- I’m actually your heir??? You mean-“
It was Tony’s turn to smirk. He pressed his hand against Peter’s jaw, making him close his mouth. “You’ll catch flies, kiddo,” he chuckled, “But, yes. Yes you are my heir, mr. Since the day you webbed your way into my cold, dead, heart,” Tony winked, as he basically started to drag Peter down to the lift (the employees had got used to seeing them in these situations now, there was no point in asking).
Peter rebooted himself, quickly moving past the whole ‘heir’ thing (he wasn’t sure if he even believed it). He shuffled on his feet, excitedly, as he knew the doors were about to open on some of the coolest people (he wasn’t sure if ‘people’ was the right word, maybe he should refer to them as the god’s they are) in the world. “Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god,” he said to himself. He didn’t even care that Tony was looking at him with an amused, yet concerned, look. “Mr Stark?”
Tony sighed, dramatically. “Yes, Pete?”
“Is Thor more attractive in real life than on screen? God, is that even possible? Because, wow, Mr Stark- that man is HOT!” Peter said, thinking about the God of Thunder as the lift went up and up...
Tony laughed, “Well, you’ll just have to see for yourself...,”
The door opened, and Peter couldn’t contain his excitement as he saw Thor stood in the corner with his hand around Mjonir. And when he looked to Thor’s left, Loki was there (who, really, was very misunderstood). Loki looked lost and confused, as if he was wondering why somebody would want him here.
He didn’t know who to go to first.
“Pointbreak and rock of ages, you’re here!” Tony announced, making them turn their heads towards the two. “This is my rabid son, Peter Parker. He will talk a lot at you, and you will talk back.”
“Mr Stark!” Peter blushed, hitting him gently on the arm. “I’m not rabid! And, uh, you guys don’t have to talk to me if you don’t want to. Mr Stark can’t force you to be here, after all, so- uh, yeah...,”
“I was unaware you had a son!” Thor beamed, his smile captivating and pristine. It was gorgeous. And god, so was the rest of of him. Peter knew he was staring, but he didnt even care. “Wow! You look so alike!”
Peter giggled. Yes, giggled, underneath his breath. Looking up at Thor, his knees actually felt a little weak. The God was definitely something else...
“He’s not my biological son, Thor-,”
“Nonsense! You cannot fool me, Stark!” Thor grinned, “Come! Son of Stark! Lets go meet my brother, Loki!”
Thor wrapped his arm around Peter, and he just fit so well. As they went over to Loki, Peter didn’t walk, no, he floated. He floated over to the other God, who stared over at Tony to make sure it was okay for them to talk. When Tony nodded, he slowly lifted his hand for him to shake.
“Woah, it’s so cool to meet you!” Peter said, distancing himself from Thor (which was definitely a shame). He smiled at Loki, who’s lips slowly turned up into a shy smile. “Can I see some of your magic? I’ve read that you’re like really, really, good at it and I’ve ALWAYS wanted to see it!”
“Y-you have?” Loki said, tilting his head to the side. “Nobody but my brother has ever been interested in seeing my... talent..,”
“Oh,” Peter said, frowning. “Well, that’s not good! Because I’d definitely like to see it! I mean- if you’d like. I imagine magic can be quite personal? So, uh, if you don’t- then that’s completely fine!”
As Peter’s rant finished, he found himself staring down at the grand canyon. His hand in Loki’s, he suddenly came to the realisation that the God had teleported them both there.
“Oh my god! That’s awesome! We were there- and now, wow, we’re here! It was so fast! You’re incredible, Mr Loki!” Peter ranted, eyes not leaving the beauty that was in front of them.
Loki almost looked embarrassed. His face flushed a deep red, as he kept his eyes down on the floor beneath them. “Thank you, Peter. That’s very kind of you.”
“Well- it’s the truth!” Peter admitted. He blinked, and then they were both back in the tower.
Tony was pacing, his voice raised, as he pointed an accusing finger at Thor. When they landed, his shoulders immediately slumped and he was pressing his arms around Peter’s waist.
“Jesus, Mr Stark. It’s not like I was all the way in the Grand Canyon. Oh, wait! I totally was! Mr Loki’s teleportation skills are AWESOME!” Peter said, as soon as he could actually get the words out. Tony had been squeezing just a little too tight before, meaning he could hardly get himself to speak.
“Loki!” Tony said, “Please, god- please tell me where you’re taking my son before you magically disappear.”
Loki looked embarrassed, or guilty, so Peter felt the need to defend his new friend. He stood beside him, pout on his face, and crossed his arms. “Mr Stark... I did ask him! And it’s not like he would actually hurt me. We were fine!”
Tony took one look at the pout and sighed. “Fine. Just- please don’t teach the kid to do magic. I can’t have him running around the house with the ability to set things on fire... or something.”
Peter looked over at Loki with a raised eyebrow, “You can do that?” He asked, before he was pulled away from the God to talk to the other God in the room (what was his life?)
“Son of Stark! It’s an honour to meet you,” Thor said, looking as elegant as ever as his cape cascaded down from his shoulders. “Might we celebrate our meeting? I have brought some Asgardian mead down with me!”
“Thor, he’s a child. He cannot drink any of that stuff. God, I don’t think I’d even trust me with it,” Tony interjected, sat beside Loki (they were talking about something, but Peter could tell his mentor/dad was a little weary).
“Hmm, Midgardian rules are very confusing,” Thor said, turning to Peter with a frown. He leant in, whispering into his ear, “Perhaps I should let you try a sip. I’m sure I could take your father on, if he should challenge me.”
Peter giggled for the second time that day, in disbelief that this was even happening. “Maybe,” he smiled, as he simultaneously fought back the urge to run his hands through the man’s flowing locks.
“Here, Peter, hold this as I go to fetch the gifts from Asgard,” Thor said, a weirdly mischievous grin on his lips. He raised Mjonir, expecting Peter to just take it and fall to the ground when she deemed him unworthy.
Yet, somehow, that did not happen. Tony was mid sentence, telling Thor to stop trying to prank people with that, when he realised Peter was twirling the hammer around in his hand as if it was nothing. He stared, as did everyone else in the room, when the teen didn’t seem to gather what this meant.
“I knew it!” Tony laughed, “I knew my boy would be worthy!” He said, laughing harder when he clocked on to Thor’s expression. Half way between shock/distress, he couldn’t quite believe that a teenager from Midgard could do what warriors from Asgard could not.
Peter looked down to his hand, his eyes going wide. “Oh, shit! Mr Stark! Look! I can-woah! This is awesome!”
Peter was never going to let Tony live this down. He could wield Mjonir....
And when Tony kept finding that stupid hammer over his important work stuff, he knew who the culprit was behind it (if it wasn’t Peter, he probably had some ‘behind the scenes’ influence on the prank. Tony was sure he’d easily get Thor involved in the fun). He was starting to ponder if it was a bad idea to introduce Thor and Pete...
And when Peter suddenly started to make magic portals, Tony wondered if he made a bad decision to introduce Loki and Peter (it wasn’t, because Tony had never seen happiness on Loki’s face before. When Peter was around, he became a new person/god. The kid was just loved by everyone...).
But, of course, the video of Peter lifting that hammer went straight into Friday’s collection of ‘my son doing amazing things’, which was loaded with videos of Peter Parker being himself...
And if his son could rule Asgard... then, somehow, that must mean he’d be royalty in some way. So, after all, it’s a win-win for all of them (well, maybe Thor would get the short stick... considering it would mean booting him out from the throne).
