STAN AND FORD SAW THE GHOST. WHAT DID IT LOOK LIKE? WHAT POWERS DOES IT HAVE RIGHT NOW?
THE GHOST OF NORTHWEST MANOR, according to STAN AND FORD’S description, is a skeletal, lumberjack-looking guy with an axe sticking out of his head.
First of all, OUCH.
Second of all, FUCKING OUCH.
You may have read A LITTLE TOO MUCH about survivable head injuries during one of your MANY SLEEPLESS NIGHTS. An axe that isn’t even all the way buried, just sticking out of the center of the head? Not exactly a quick or painless way to die.
No wonder he's so angry, really. The cause of death alone would make an understandable impression, as it were.
Also, his beard is on fire. WHACK. Possible pyromancer? It’s more likely than you think. Which is horrifying to think about in a brick-and-wood house.
He’s also got some tree powers going on. With a side of possessing dead animals.
BOTH STANS agree that the guy might have been a druid of some kind when he was alive. Whether he practiced or not is a moot point- the fact is, he had the potential, and now said potential is getting turbocharged by the afterimages of a violent death with a side of a still-poorly understood ghostly grudge. Category 10 indeed.
And maybe on any other day, you and UNCLE FORD would be trying to investigate THE GHOSTLY GRUDGE IN QUESTION in order to more peacefully neutralize the haunt. But that’s the kind of thing that would take days of research you do not have the luxury of spending. You are, above all, trying to make sure THE AXE-CRAZY GHOST MAN doesn’t go and cause a casualty or fifty.
You can, PROBABLY, try and do some quick family history stuff on the NORTHWESTS or some of the guests and see if it gets you any leads, but it likely can’t afford to be top priority.
You’re being forced to do SO MUCH IMPROVISING HERE. YOU DON’T LIKE IT.
Other than that, the only truly effective methods of harming him would be the usual suspects. Either an Ectoplasm-based weapon (an Ectodisruptor would be ideal), or one of the old classics- something made of silver, something holy, or something personal to the ghost in question.
You know jack-all about the ghost, so that rules out the last option. And you sincerely doubt that this place has anything remotely holy running around.
Silver’s your best bet here. This is, after all, A VERY OLD AND VERY WEALTHY house.
If they don’t even have good silverware, THEN WHAT, PRAY TELL, IS THE FUCKING POINT?
>DIPPER PINES HAS ADDED THE TASK: FIND GOOD SILVER.
THE STANS are still nearby, but you can’t stay put for long- you’ll all need to mingle with the crowd soon, get investigating.
