YOU HAD A SEAFOAM GREEN DRESS IN YOUR CLOSET SOMEWHERE.
It is, in fact, one of your favorites. In your VERY INFORMED OPINION, it would suit you much better.
But MOTHER AND FATHER would never let you hear the end of it if you didn’t choose the clothes they SO LOVINGLY picked out for you.
Not without good reason, of course.
MOTHER’S LAKEFOAM GREEN DRESS hangs in the dresser. It is freshly bought- it hasn’t even been opened yet from its protective coverings.
EVER SO COINCIDENTALLY, you tie a corner of the covering to a hook inside the dresser. EVER SO COINCIDENTALLY, when you open the door again, the packaging of the dress is torn.
Oh well.
Such a shame.
You can’t be seen wearing TAMPERED MERCHANDISE, after all. It is not at all becoming of a NORTHWEST.
Good thing your trusty SEAFOAM GREEN dress is always waiting.
(You put on your diamond necklace, and you feel something vaguely approaching pride.)
It is now 6:45 AM. You are, of course, not expected until 9:00 AM PRECISELY, and MOTHER AND FATHER surely would not want you to bother them while they are so busy with VERY IMPORTANT MATTERS that A YOUNG MISTRESS HAS NO BUSINESS YET WORRYING ABOUT.
You must, for now, find your own means to pass the time.
Do you…
