Shinichi's POV.
“One more case solved!”, I thought to myself grinning happily. As I was leaving the park where the murder took place, I saw two men standing in a dark alley. I could see that one of the men had dark long hair and the flickering light coming from the street lamp allowed me to notice the form of a gun in his back pocket. He was standing next to a thin pale male who was holding a black briefcase. I got curious and decided to follow them. I hid behind a building and waited to see what they were going to do. I took my phone out of my bag and opened the camera in case of something interesting happening.
After some time, a third man arrived, he seemed nervous. Once he got closed to the two first men, he looked around, rummaged through his pockets and took an USB key out of his coat. He gave it to the thin man while the long haired man stayed completely immobile, staring right in front of him.
The anxious man started whispering:
“-Here Gin, I got you all the files I could find about the S.H.I.E.L.D. Now please, give me my son back.”
The pale outlaw smiled coldly and gave him a paper and said:
“-Your son is there. I’ll let you live because Hydra still needs you, but next time we ask you to do something, do it or you’ll die.”
The man gave a scared nod and ran away.
As they started to leave, my phone suddenly rang. I saw my childhood friend’s name, Ran, flashing on the screen. They looked at me and I cursed. I walked three steps backward before bumping on another person. The man behind me was smaller than the two others, I couldn’t see him well because he almost immediately hit me on the head with a metal bar. I fell to the cold floor, feeling blood leaking from the back of my head.
“-You were followed by a kid! You really are an idiot Gin.
-We have to kill him, Vodka, replied the latter. You know what you have to do, soldier. We have to be silent though so don’t use any gun” This time he spoke to the long haired man who was still motionless until now as he handed him the briefcase. Then they both left, leaving “Soldier” alone with me.
They were going to kill me, I wanted to run far from this place but my body refused to move, the hit I received was really strong and it kept me from getting up. “Soldier” got closer to me, opened the briefcase right in front of my eyes and took out a glass bottle. I could read from the bottle “ APTX 4869 – experimental”
He forced my mouth open and put a pill under my tongue. He then forced me to drink and made sure I swallowed the pill. The last thing I remember is seeing “Soldier” leaving and a wave of pain hitting me.
The pain seemed endless and it increased with every breath I took. I started sweating despite the cold rain falling from the dark sky. It became unbearable when I started to feel my bones melting. It was agonizing, I passed out on the wet stone floor of the alley.
I heard a voice but I didn’t understand the words, it sounded as if the person speaking was really far away. After some time, my hearing came back to normal.
“Hey kid, are you alright? Wake up!”.
The voice didn’t sound like the one of an adult, why are they calling me kid? I gathered the force to sit down and pry my eyes open. The first thing I saw was the blinding light of a flash-light. I quickly closed my eyes. I raised my arm to touch the back of my head and I felt some blood where I had been hit. I opened my eyes again and saw the concerned face of a teenage boy. He had brown curly hair and dark brown eyes.
“You’re awake! That’s good! I’m Peter, what’s your name? Let’s take you to a hospital, you look like you were hit pretty bad.” The boy said with a reassuring smile as if I was a frightened child.
I couldn’t go to a hospital, if I went there they would find me and kill me. “No hospital” I said quietly to the teenager. My voice sounded weird, it was too high-pitched. I then felt my body going limp with exhaustion and I collapsed for the second time that night.
