The Past

“Touchdown in 2” May said over the intercoms. Alora was currently sitting on the couch fiddling with her rings, attempting to stop her leg from bouncing. She was wearing black cargo pants and a tighter black top tucked in. Her hair was in a braided crown to keep it out of her face.

She was nervous, and scared. She really did not want to be scared but to her that house was her hell. Alora had spent almost all of her life locked within those walls. Now she was walking right back into the place she could never call home.

“Robin”  Coulson said snapping her out of her thoughts “Where is their lab”

“Basement, there are three different doors and three different codes but the house is very High-tech but I know where most of the hidden areas are” Alora said barley looking up

“Alright Fitz-Simmons and Robin will go into the lab-” Coulson started as May walked into the room but before he could say anything else Alora cut him off.

“I’m not going into that lab” Alora said trying to push back the memories she had of that room

“Robin its a vital part of this mission that you figure out all of the things they are working on”

“I am not going into that lab, Fitz-Simmons can handle it themselves” Alora said more firmly making eye contact with Coulson

“ Fitz-Simmons and I will go into the lab, May will interrogate, and Robin, Skye, and Ward will search the rest of the house” Coulson said

“Alright what are you waiting for let's go” May said after no one moved

They all started walking to the vans, they had split up 4 and 3. May, Coulson, Fitz, and Simmons in one. Her, Skye, and Ward in the other. Alora really did not want to do this like really did not want to do this.

Especially after she told Colin, he understood that it was not a great idea for her to go back. Alora also had no clue what they did and did not know about her. There was so much going on right now, She can’t afford anyone screwing it up for her.

“Hey Robin, are you okay?” Skye asked from her place in the back

“Yeah I’m fine . . . I just thought that after leaving I would never return yet here I am” Alora said as she saw the house coming closer in view.

“I understand, if it's okay to ask why don’t you want to go into the lab?” Skye asked

“It's okay to ask but I just have a lot of bad memories there” Alora said, being as vague as possible. Skye hadn’t asked anymore questions about it though so she was thankful.

Alora was trying to distract herself while they started to pull into the house. She had already informed the team of the blind spots from the cameras so they were going around back. Apparently they were going to do the whole knocking on the door thing. She already told them it wasn’t going to work but whatever.

A little background on her mom, she was from England. Almost all of her family were either doctors or scientists, she being no different. They all were very opinionated and didn’t like anything that deviated off the path of perfection. Her grandparents on her mothers side absolutely hated her. They also were always trying to introduce her to different men who were family friends. Apparently she was a suitable candidate for marriage, which pawning off a 15 year old is not an appropriate thing to do.

She remembers the first time they had tried to do that. It was at the joining gala of the Fox-Evans industries. They had introduced her to the son of one of their mutual friends. He wasn’t that much older than her but he was about to turn 19 and she had just turned 15. Alora had also not seen the point in getting married. Which is also why she clicked with Colin because he also didn’t see the point.

Back to her mom she had very long black hair which was always pulled back. Her name is Daphne Evans and is married to Jacob Fox. She was at a mid-range height and looked very healthy. She was never kind to Alora, she was more of a lab experiment to her than a daughter. Which was why she never liked that lab.

Walking up to the house was probably one of the hardest things to do. She was breathing heavily and was internally in tears. She was only brought back to reality when the door opened.

“Hello, Can I help you?” A British voice said pulling the door open

“Hi, are you Dr. Daphne Evans?” Ward asked

“Yes I am, who are you?” She asked

“I am Agent Grant Ward with The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division. Is it alright if we come in” Ward said, his people skills slightly improving. Her eyes were elsewhere though, She was looking directly at Alora

“Whatever nonsense that girl has been feeding you is a lie. She is a pathological liar.” Her mother said, making Alora roll her eyes.

“Our intel says otherwise”

“She is mentally ill, who feels the compulsive need to lie and get attention. I was frankly scared for my own safety while she was in this house, nearly killing my husband” Alora had enough of it already.

“Set away from the door we have every right to search this house” Alora said in her most commanding voice getting an impressed face from Skye

“What are you talking about Maxine? You don’t work for these people, you have no right to step into this house.”

“Agent Alora Robin, field medic and agent for The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division. Do I have to repeat my statement?” Alora said, leveling her eyes with her mothers. In the middle of their staring contest someone starts walking down the steps.

“My dear what is going on” The voice of her step father said walking to the door. On his wrist you can see a faint burn scar in the shape of a hand

"You have no right-” Jacob started

“Actually I do move out of my way” Alora said firmly tilting her head slightly. She knew Jacob was stupid enough to try somthing. Ward was backing up slightly to  say something to his comm and Skye was backing up to get out of the way.

“Maxine, you know that what you are telling these people is not true. You know that everything was for own good, Me and your mother did everything for you and you were nothing but ungrateful”

“I have my orders so move out of my way” Alora said ignoring everything he just said

“You are just the same Maxine, always needing other people to tell you want to do. You can’t even think for yourself. Such a pathetic waste of space, to think we could make you into a proper woman.”  Jacob said, stepping out of the doorway making Alora step back and Ward step up. “You would be nothing without me don’t you forget that” Jacob added reaching out his hand to grab her jaw

Alora quickly reacted by grabbing his wrist and turning it to the point it would have broken. She reached into one of her pockets to grab a pair of handcuffs while locking the cuff on the wrist in her hand Jacob’s other hand came around and punched her in the jaw.

She called it, he was differently stupid enough to punch an government agent. Alora was about to attack back but Ward beat her to it. Which was probably for the best because she would have killed him. Her mother was now walking down the steps to where they were. Alora reached to the other side of her holster for one of the prototype icers her and Fitz had been working on.

Alora quickly pointed it at her mother whose hands were in her lab coat and turned off the safety.”Slowly take your hands out of your pockets and put them behind your head” From the angle her mother was at it looked like an actual gun. She quickly complied, Alora slowly walked up to her mother to handcuff her.

Alora should have known her mother did as she was told too early because as soon as she went to handcuff her she broke a vial that looked as if it hadn’t contained anything. Though to Aloras eyes she could see faint yellow and iridescent lines going through it. As the vial's contents were spread onto her she felt a faint burning sensation but other than that she felt fine.

She quickly handcuffed her mother and reached into her pockets seeing vials of different serums. Alora put them into one of her pockets as she pulled her mother up, Ward doing the same thing with Jacob.

Ward told the rest of the team it was safe to enter as they brought them back inside and secured the two in separate rooms. She took her mother into the dining room and Ward took Jacob into the kitchen. After securing her mother to the chair and the table she walked back into the foyer where Skye and Ward were

“Hey Alora are you okay? Your jaw looks like it's going to bruise” Skye asked

“I’m fine I just want to get this over with” Alora said

“Okay May is going in now. If they didn’t want something to be found where would they put it” Ward asked

“My room, Its where the hid me most of the time” Alora said

“Alright where is that?” Ward asked

“Follow me” Alora told them walking up the steps and down the hall to the library. She got some very confused looks from both Skye and Ward

“Robin did they change the rooms around because this is a library” Skye asked looking around

“No they didn't, I'm just trying to find the book . . . there” Alora said walking over to the book sitting on the table in the far corner of the room

“Still confused that's a book” Skye said as Alora picked it up

“It’s not just a book, If I open it the book as a hidden compartment that has a key” Alora explained opening the compartment and grabbing the key and walking to a bookshelf on the other side of the room, on the middle shelf there was a book where she opened the spin to revel a keyhole she put the key in and turned it it made another secret compartment on the shelf open with another key and when she grabbed it the whole shelf moved to the side revealing a staircase

“What the hell, Robin this isn’t normal” Skye said

“Skye my mother didn’t want me, she was mad I didn’t die in the car with my dad” Alora said as they started walking up the staircase

“Thats messed up” Skye said as they reached the top

“Tell me about it” Alora said, unlocking the door and opening it, revealing her old room. It was at the very top of the house. It had a bay window and a high ceiling. The room itself was exactly the way she left it except for some unnoticeable cuts in the wall. Though Alora did notice, she had spent so much time in this room she knew every crack.

“This room looks like where they kept Cinderella” Skye said

“At Least she turned into a princess and had a fairy godmother who gave her a chance of freedom” Alora said

“Robin hiding places where are they” Ward asked

“Over here they are new additions” Alora said, walking over to the wall and punching it for the compartment to open. It had a very large silver case and a laptop in it.

“Completely random is that nail polish on the rug” Skye asked

“No that's blood” Alora said she never owned nail polish while in this house

“Who’s Rebecca?” Skye asked looking at her desk seeing a necklace and letters

“A girl from when I was a teenager” Alora said handing Ward the case and Skye the laptop

“Was she a special someone?”

“I think maybe, but it never went anywhere”

“Why?” Skye asked flipping through the letters before picking up another one

“The letter you just picked up was her suicide note”

“Shit, I’m sorry” Skye said dropping the letter

“It’s fine” Alora said walking over to the desk as well opening the drawer

“Alora Robin is this a whole box of peoples numbers” Skye said opening the first box she saw trying to move the conversation along

“What can I say people thought I looked good in a swimsuit” Alora said laughing slightly pulling out another box which was full of jewelry

“Holy shit are those real diamonds” Skye said as Alora opened the box

“Yeah when I was young my grandmother on my dad's side always traveled and she would get me something that I wanted when I was a kid and something she said every young lady needed growing up but she put all of the things she thought I would need into a box until my 16th birthday.”

“How rich is your family?” Skye asked genuinely

“We are all doctors, scientists, or politicians who own our own companies”

“So rich?”

“Yeah”

“Can we get back on task?” Ward said apparently fed up with them being off task

“Sorry, just getting back my property” Alora said grabbing the box and moving back to the staircase and back to the foyer

“Did you guys find anything” May asked walking out of the dining room

“A case and laptop, Skye is going to go through the laptop and I was going to go through the case” Alora said

“Ward can go through the case, you are staying with me” May said giving Ward and Skye a look that said go away.

“You want to be a specialist so here is an intro to interrogation. You want people to respect you, show them you aren’t someone to be pushed around” May said walking back into the dining room

Alora understood what she meant so she walked in head held high reaching into her pockets for the vials she had taken off her. “ What are these?” Alora asked trying to keep her voice level

“Maxine I told you never to ask about my work”

“My name is not Maxine, Its Agent or Dr Robin” Alora said

“You can pretend all you want, but you are still a little girl”

“ If I have to take these to my lab to figure it out myself so be it, but it will just land you in prison for longer”

“Darling we both know you couldn’t do that”

“I can and I would, So I ask again what are these?” Alora told her

“They are going to change the world, I guess you not dying was really an unfortunate blessing”

“What do you mean by not dying?”

“You were always such a sick child Maxine”

“Whose fault was that?”

“Certainly not mine, you better get a head start on decoding those serums” With that Alora was out of the room and down the hallway to the kitchen she could see Ward and Skye in the family room.

“Jacob, what do you know about Akela Amador and the Backscatter eye implant.” Alora said standing in front of the counter

“Who and what”

“The Eye implant that you and Iain Quinn told me to make”

“Ah that, I have no idea”

“Alright refresher course, I was 15 you had just threatened to strap me down to the table in the lab. Iain came up to my room with you and then explained what I had to make and that I knew the consequences if I didn’t”

“Doesn’t ring a bell”

“You had me make a device to keep someone captive for years and you want me to believe you had nothing to do with it. I am not stupid, I know exactly the kind of pathetic man you are.”

“Maxine I raised you better than to speak to me in that manor”

“You didn’t raise me at all, you treated me like a machine, something you put away until it benefited you. I am not that 75 pound girl you can push around anymore. I grew up into a brilliant, strong, independent woman. I realized that I wasn't the monster you made me believe I was. My name is Alora Robin and I’d wouldn’t forget it because my name will haunt you for the rest of your sad life. I’m calling the shots from now on. I am the judge, jury, and executioner so I suggest you start talking before I start adding up offences.” Alora said getting right in his face

“Just like your dad, had that flame burning all the time. Someone had to put him out, you were suppose to go with him but those incompetent men couldn’t find you to kill you” Alora stepped back for a second everything making sense.

“Am I really that much of a threat to your plans”

“You were a part of our plan of everyone's plan. We needed you to figure out all of our engineering equipment. Out of the scientists and engineers we had you were the one who could figure it all out” Jacob said

“Who is we?”

“You’ll know in time”

“No, you are going to tell me” Alora said

“A past enemy”

“Stop giving me vague answers”

“You will figure it out”

“How many others have you used my equipment on?”

“I can’t recall”

“You can't recall how many lives you ruined? Are you that much of a heartless monster”

“Me a monster? You were born a monster. Monsters have no place in this world, your little team doesn’t know what you did to me. The amount of pain you caused with one hand, they'll see who you really are soon the blaze that burns behind your eyes. Hail . . .” With that Jacob clicked a button on his watch and his head hung low. He was dead.

The whole team was around her, May running in from the other room saying that her Mother was also dead.

They knew, so did all their allies. She had way less than a year, this had been the plan all along to get her to reveal herself. At this point she was going either way.

Walking back onto the bus was filled with Simmons asking her if she was alright. Alora was fine, right? They were dead, people who wanted her dead were dead. The people who killed her father are dead. The flame. They killed her best friend, they know who all of them are.

This was going to be the beginning of it all.

___________________________________________________

THREE WEEKS LATER

Alora had been preparing for the movement for weeks. Everything was in place and ready. The news had been up in informing the public of the different things mutants had been doing. They were just waiting for her signal. Today sentinel services would fall.

They refused to listen to their reason before and mutants had to deal with the consequences of their ignorance. Today was the day change would be made, a move toward equality.

She was ready, all of her stuff had already been moved to the mutant safe house. She only had whatever was on her at the moment. A pair of black jeans, a slightly cropped turtle neck the criss crossed around her waist. Alora was also wearing Blair's leather jacket that had a few new additions to it. Though they would remain invisible until further notice. Her hair was pulled up into a ponytail with braids mixed in. Her sunglasses remain in her pocket just in case. Alora was getting ready to send up the signal when she heard the mission alarm go off.

Alora shut the windows cover and walked out of her bunk. As she walked down to the meeting room she was met with agents from Sentinel Services standing in the room with the rest of the team walking in. One of the sentinel service agents was the one on the news.

“Agent Thompson, Agent Rows, this is my team. Agents Ward, May, Fitz, Simmons, and Robin. Then Skye.” Coulson said. Alora reached into her pocket and put her phone on record.

“We have called your team in to assist us on a mutant threat. We have been following the work of a mutant terrorist group called the Underground. We have located their base and we plan on striking on it.” Agent Thompson said (he being the one on the news)

“What do you mean strike?” Alora asked

“You from Australia?” He asked

“Yes, again what do you mean by strike”

“Well we plan on taking it down, arresting everyone there”

“Do you have a reason to go there blazing gun fire” Alora asked

“ They are terrorist disturbing  the peace and threaten human lives”

“The only lives that have been lost are those of mutants”

“Alright pretty girl calm yourself down wouldn’t want you to have an episode, none of them were innocent”

“Call me pretty girl again and I’ll rip out your vocal cords”

“Did you just threaten me?”

“Did you just sexually harass me?”

“Agent Robin” Coulson said and Alora stepped back from the table Skye giving her a quick hi-five.

“Anyway, Sentinel Services will bring a strike team as well as the hounds. We will blast into their base and start arresting them. If one of them even looks at you weird shot them”

“What if there are kids?”

“Mutants are all the same”

“Hounds? What are hounds” Skye asked

“They are mutants that have been arrested and have been subjected to chemicals to force them to obey their handlers.” Alora answers for her making her team look shocked

“I am really starting to question your loyalty” Agent Thompson said

“I believe in equality for all people, is that so wrong?”

“Agent Thompson you have no authority over my agents so please stop interrogating my agent and get back to your job” Coulson said

Alora listened to the rest of the plan before she stopped the recording and sent it to Colin. She also texted him to get all non essential mutants to the safe house. That includes children, and peoples whose powers won’t help them as of now.

She started to walk down the hallway when she heard the two agents talking.

“Are the bombs in place?” One of them said

“Yeah at the children's hospital that is anti-mutant and all officers at the facilities are ready to execute”

“Good, when we get to that base tell the team to kill them all”

“Got it” Alora slowly backed away right into May

“Agent May can I speak to you in private” Alora asked, she had no idea what she was doing but she needed to do something

“Of course follow me” May said as Aloras eyes flicked to the two men who were currently walking out of the room. They walked up to the pilots cabin and to the two seats there. “Robin what is going on”

“Coulson always says to protect your own and I need to do that. Those agents are planning mass genocide. They are going to kill all of the mutants there, then they are going to bomb a children's hospital and blame it on mutants so that we all get arrested and killed. I heard them say it ”

“ Robin what do you mean your own” May asked Alora looking down the hallway before pulling down the waistband of her jeans slightly revealing her tattoo.

“I am a Mutant” Alora said hoping she could trust May

“Do what you have to do Alora” Now that was surprising. She definitely thought May would call the Sentinel Service agents up here.

“Okay I need to get to base and stall for the rest of the people to get out, then I need to get to that hospital” Alora told her

“I’ll talk to Coulson, but only after you get away”

“Did you know I was a Mutant” Alora asked

“I had my suspicions”

“Yet you didn’t say anything”

“Coulson thought that you were just dating one”

“Well he isn’t wrong, but I do have the x-gene”

“When did it manifest?” May asked

“I thought when Jacob was choking me out but when my dad got shot I was in the back seat. Though they never saw me, I didn’t even realize I went invisible”

“Does anyone else know?”

“Ward, maybe I have to use a special type of thread to sew myself up because I burn through the normal kind. Not the point anyway he had sewn me up and might have seen the thread type I was using but if he did he didn’t say anything”

“Alright you do what you have to do, good luck Agent Robin” May said and Alora left the room. She started to walk down to the lab to grab the things she needed to take from there.

The agents were in there too, snooping around in her things. She was really starting to get pissed off with these agents.

“Excuse me, don’t touch my stuff” Alora said grabbing the Batons her and Fitz had just finished. They were the new and improved version of her originals. They had a lot more functions now and she was simply in love. “How many mutants do you have coming” Alora asked

“Two” Rows said

“Got it” Alora said, walking over to where they stored all the vialed items, she grabbed the vials her mother had and put them in her pocket. She and Simmons had run test after test on these things but could not figure out what they were. She also had her reversal serum for the hounds already in her pocket.

In the past three weeks she had been getting ready to take sentinel services down. All registered mutants were public information, this included their names, jobs, addresses, phone numbers, family, ect. It put Mutants in danger and Alora couldn’t stand getting the call that said another one had been taken down. So that was the first thing going down, after that all of sentinel services data bases and anything internet connected were going to be fried and deleted. Alora and Techno had created a bug to do it, and since Shield had access to all the files she placed it  while inside.

All she needed to do was click a button on her phone and then her part was done. Techno and his people were going to finish it. Colin and his people were overseeing the transport and protection of everyone moving to the new safe house. Steel had half of his people staying and half of them guarding the safe house. Aloras group was the smallest of them all and they had all made it abundantly clear they were staying even though she had insisted on them to go to the safe house.

Blair’s old group were all leading Sentinel Services all over the place. They were basically the distractions. Though now she needed someone to go to the prisons and mutant rehabilitation centers to fight the guards off.

She quickly texted Steel to tell him the new threats. He said that he would send his people to the prisons if she could get to the hospital. Alora could not have that many children die because of a retaliation against them. Her new plan was that she would send the signal up as she got to the base, then she would help fight off whatever agents are there as well as free the hounds from their brainwash. Then she would go to the hospital which was only a few blocks away. That was as far as she had gotten.

Alora was scared. Who wouldn’t be? The weight of responsibility she was carrying was enormous. A lot of people could die and it felt like it would be her fault. They had already tried the peaceful protest route. It got them nowhere, they had tried to reason but just got shut down and talked over. The countless lives lost was not even noticed by anyone except the people who took the hit.

It is time for a change.

They were now in the van on the way to the base. Aloras leg was bouncing as they started getting closer. She knew that May wasn’t saying anything, and that she would be able to hold off the team. Alora also made it clear to everyone in HQ that none of the Shield agents got hurt. May kept looking over at her as the building came into view. Ward picked up on it as well but again he didn’t say anything.

Alora knew that Fury knew about her name change before she put it on record but he never said anything about it. So what would he do once Shield knew she was a mutant. Since Mutants were not exactly allowed to work in the government what would happen to her. If she wasn’t arrested of course. She probably couldn’t stay at shield, which was fine. Though she didn’t know exactly what the process of leaving an organization like that was.

“Okay I need everyone to stay as far away as they can. We don’t know what we are dealing with” Coulson said as the van stopped “Fitz, Simmons, Skye you guys especially should stay back” The responses were all variations of “Yep, was planning on it” Ward opened up the back of the van and was the first to get out.

When Alora got out she saw Steel in the window slightly, she looked up slightly and nodded. Which told him to get everyone ready. The Sentinel Service agents got out of their vans, and Alora did a quick head count of how many there were. She counted 17 in the front, and 7 on either side. Another van pulled up and 10 more people got out, they were going to the back. She also had eyes on the two hounds.

The team walked up to Agent Thompson and Rows. “Coulson your team is going to be with us in the front” Agent Rows said

“Okay on my word” Agent Thompson said into his ear piece before picking up his megaphone. Alora was getting ready now to send up her signal.

“This is Sentinel Services we have you surrounded, come out with your hands up I am only giving you one chance” Thompson said and someone came out the door, all guns trained on him.

It was Colin, this was not part of the plan. “ My name is Colin Cassidy, I am a Mutant representative. We all want to resolve this peacefully, we don’t want any bloodshed. God knows we already have had too much.” Colin looked over to her “Like we have always been willing to, we are happy to sit down and have a conversation to make this better for both parties but you guys have to be willing as well”

“It is too late for that Mr.Cassidy so you need to tell all the mutants in there to surrender themselves” Thompson said

“I’m sorry Agent but we all know what happens if we do that” Colin said

“Then I am sorry it has to end like this Mr.Cassidy” Thompson said as a gun shot rang out. Alora let out a blood curdling scream as he fell to the ground. That was the last straw, Alora ran from her place next to Coulson and May and dropped to the ground next to Colin. The Bullet had hit him in the upper abdomen, she put her hands over the entry wound as trying her best to keep the blood from flowing out.

Colin put his hand up to her cheek.”It's okay Lor, I’ll see you soon” and she felt the light drain out of him. A big puff of black mist came off of him as he took his final breath. Alora’s hands were stained with his blood, her face as well. She stood up and turned to face the line of Sentinel service agents letting her the invisibility of the new patches.

They looked slightly confused as to what she was doing, but weren’t shooting thinking she was doing a field medic thing. Her team also looked confused, she could see Skye and Simmons tearing up slightly.

With her head held high she began to speak “He came out here to solve this peacefully and you shoot him. That is the difference between Mutants and agents like you, our first thoughts are not to kill but to work things out.” She grabbed her phone with the button she needed at the ready “ That ends today, I will be damned if I let you take another innocent life. Mutants are people on this earth, We deserve basic rights. I am willing to fight for that even If I die in the process. If I die fighting in what I believe in while opening up the doors for evolution, for change, or equality for all. Then I die feeling proud.” Alora said, lifting her hand up to the sky and letting a very bright beam of light flash. She made her beam flash three times and then she clicked the button on her phone.

That was the signal, and so it begins.

No one did anything for a second, she heard someone tell Thompson their earpieces just fried. She also noticed that Skye had been recording the whole thing. At once everyone on the front lines beside the team fired.

Alora had anticipated that so as the bullets came flying at her she pushed out her hands making them stop in mid air. She twisted her hand making them all turn into smoke.

Thompson ordered another round of bullets to be fired at her. So she lowered her density completely, making herself intangible and watched as the bullets flew through her. Well obviously shooting her wasn’t going to work.

She saw the hounds coming her way and she grabbed the vials out of her pocket. The hounds were walking up blasting rays of energy at her, Alora stiffened her hands out and made a force field in front of her like a massive shield. As the rays made contact with her force fields she had to put more energy into them. As soon as the hounds got close enough she threw the vials down and watched as the rays stopped and they became dazed for a moment.

“What the hell happened” She heard Rows shout

“I’m a scientist, dumbass” Alora shouted back as she made lines of light shoot out of her hands and grab a hold of everyone's guns. She pulled her hand back and yanked the guns out of their hands making them fly behind her.

Alora slashed her hand through the air making some of the agents fly back into the van. She stretched her hands out to where they were facing two of the vans. She pulled her hands back to her body making them into fists and the vans slammed together in front of her like a barricade.

She ran up and into the building where Mutants were all in front of windows fighting off Sentinel service agents. Alora used her powers to pull Colin’s body into the hotel as well. She ran up the stairs to the second floor. Everyone covering the front looked to her for directions.

“Get ready, wait for them to get closer” Alora said standing next to the girl she had in her group named Plant.

“Blaze, I can make vines wrap around them. Should I do that?” Plant asked

“Yes, just wait” Alora said “Everyone get ready” She said seeing the agents start to come around the vans. They had their guns drawn and were making their way to the door.

“Now!” Alora shouted and everyone moved. Vines started to wrap around one of the guys, a gust of wind throwing three of them back. Ice surrounded another few, and Alora held her hand out and focused it to the men below the window she was in. The arms that were holding guns all snapped. She then slashed her hand down making the air molecules speed up and group together. This created a razor wind effect as it slammed into the ground, throwing everyone off balance and back through the air.

“You guys are doing so well! Just keep them from the building” Alora said, making force fields to cover the windows bullets were flying in. When the agents started getting closer to the door she moved to the center window. Alora stood on the windows ledge before jumping out of it, Her eyes turned bright blue as she landed on her feet.

“Everyone close your eyes' ' Alora shouted loud enough for them to hear. Agents were getting closer to the building, Alora breathed in deeply before letting her whole body light up. She was literally glowing, her feet lifted off the ground slightly as more energy entered her. Her hands were tightly balled in fists, and her eyes were closed until she felt the right feeling. Alora opened her eyes, seeing everything in white with golden and silver outlining. She pushed her arms out like she was pushing open double doors.

A very strong and bright pulse of energy shot out of her body and to the Agents on all sides of her. Making them all fly far away from the building. Her feet touched the ground again, her eyes and body still glowing. Alora kept her hands in fist and kept pushing them out at agents.

“Blaze we got this go!” She heard Steel yell. Alora pointed her fists at the ground, ran onward slightly and jumped off of the ground. During this process turning herself invisible. Her body and eyes stopped glowing, though her hands remained glowing as she flew through the air.

Alora flew a few blocks down to the hospitals where the bombs were planted. She knew she didn’t have time when she got to the hospital. She could see a sentinel service van speeding down the street, the team van following behind. Alora did not have enough time to get everyone out. She had one idea.

Now this idea could very much kill her. Honestly it probably would but it could save everyone in and around the hospital. If she could make the whole hospital and all the people in it intangible then put a force field around it then everyone would be fine and there would be no damage.

She was definitely going to die.

Alora’s feet touched back down to the ground and she put herself into the visible field. She knew that the bombs were going to go off, Alora couldn’t explain the feeling but she just knew. She could hear the sirens behind her. Alora took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

Her arms were out in front of her, her fingers were clenching tightly facing the ground as if she was pulling up something. She flipped her hands over as she saw the ground of the hospital starting to glow and become transparent. She started to pull her hands up, expanding it up the building. Her teeth were grinding together as sounds of struggle were leaving her mouth. Those sounds started to turn into screaming. A battle for enough energy raging inside her.

She felt herself lift off the ground once again as the building and everyone inside became intangible. Alora struggled to keep it that way until she heard the explosion, she twisted her glowing hands so that a force field flew up around the explosion before it became too big. She lifted it up above the building and let the building become tangible. The explosion subsided in the force field. Alora let the force field go and she fell down to the ground. Landing on one knee making the ground rumble and a burst of energy shooting out of her .

Alora started seeing spots as she felt some roughly pull her hands behind her back. A collar being placed around her neck. She heard someone yelling for them to stop. She couldn’t tell who it was before the darkness took over.

_____________________________________

Alora woke up and blinked a few times. She was in The cage on the bus. One of her arms was handcuffed to the bed, there was still a power inhibitor collar around her neck. Not that she expected it to be gone. She used her free hand to rub her eye, wait. Yep her glamours were definitely off. That meant she was keeping her eyes on the floor because they took everything that could be used as a weapon.

Alora heard the door open so she kept her eyes on the floor. Her hair was also quite bright but not to the extent her eyes were.

“Dr. Robin” Coulson said pulling up a chair and sitting down

“Agent Coulson, I know I'm not really in a place to be asking for things but I need my sunglasses.” Alora said , Coulson reached into his pocket and pulled out her sunglasses. He placed them in her hand and Alora quickly put them on and looked up at Coulson.

“May told me why you did what you did”

“Is anyone-”

“Dead? Yes” Coulson told her

“How many people did I kill” Alora asked

“You didn’t kill anyone, though you did send quite a few agents to the ER with burns and broken bones. All reported body's are Mutants”

“Was one of their names Oliver McKinley his code name is melt” Coulson nodded

“I’m sorry Alora”

“When are you handing me over to Sentinel Services?” Alora asked not really wanting to here apologies

“As of right now Sentinel Services is in shambles and are sending all Mutant arresties to Us, FBI, CIA, basically anyone who can take them” Alora couldn’t help but smile a bit

“So what is going to happen to me?” Alora asked

“Well you are being detained for the time being, Ward is going to come in and get all the information we need about your mutant status in a while seeing as he is your S.O”

“Is? Don’t you mean was?” Alora asked him

“No Agent Robbin I mean is, I would hate to lose you over some small rule that thanks to you may be changing” Coulson said “and if this matters you were slipping in and out of the visible field for about 2 hours” Coulson added getting up

“Okay thanks for letting me know”

“Once we finish your power analysis Fitz is going to make power inhibitor bracelets instead of collars, so just don’t make it too hard on Ward” Coulson said walking out of the room.

Well it worked. Sentinel Services was in pieces. Though she may still have to face a judge, but all Mutants were out of their custody. Alora needed to get the full list of everyone who died so that they could bury them. It's sad that only Mutants died in this uprising but it showed what kind of people they were. She thought if she didn’t think of the deaths then they would not be real. That she wouldn’t have to accept it. Alora watched someone she loved die for the third time.

Colin was one of the best things in her life. He was the first person Alora opened herself up to. The first person she let love her, the first person she let herself get attached to. He was everything to her now that she thought about it. He was one of the only constants in her life no matter how complicated things got between them. They always would fall back on each other, but now she couldn’t fall back on him. The one person who truly cared and loved her was killed. He was dead. She would never be able to talk to him again. Colin was gone, for the first time in 5 years he was completely gone. Colin is dead. Colin is dead. Colin is dead. Alora kept repeating that to herself. It hadn’t sunk in yet, it didn’t feel real.

She was broken from her thoughts when Ward walked in the door, chart in hand. He moved the chair to the table in the middle of the room and motioned for her to sit in the other one.

“Still chained to the bed” Alora said, tugging on the restraints.

“Right,” Ward said, pulling out a key and unlocking it from the bed. She walked over and sat in the chair and Ward locked the cuff to the table. Ward then sat down at the other side of the table putting the chart on the table. “Full name”

“Really? You know my name” Alora said

“Answer the question”

“Alora Scarlett Robin slash Maxine Phoenix Calum” Alora told him

“Immediate family” Ward asked after writing it down

“They all are dead” Alora said

“Last known address”

“This plane” These questions were stupid Alora thought

“Any ongoing relationships” Ward asked, that stung

“Colin Cassidy, 5 years, deceased,” Alora said, looking down. Ward's face softened slightly at that.

“Any medical or mental health issues that are off record that can affect your powers”

“Depression, Anxiety, ED, and PTSD” Alora said quickly

“Which one”

“Anorexia” Ward raised his eyes to look at her for a second after that one

“Degrees you hold”

“Ph.Ds in Bioengineering/biomedical engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biophysics, Masters in Engineering, Mathematics, and Undergrads in Biochem, Psychology, and Bioorganic chemistry. Then a Medical degree” Alora rattled off as Ward wrote them down

“The last thing I need right now is a rundown of your powers” Ward said

“Molecular and Atomic manipulation, Self explanatory I can manipulate Molecules and atoms and the energy associated with them. Danger with that is as an application of them is that I have ballistic telekinesis. If I wanted to I could level a building or a block or a planet. Photon manipulation and absorption. This is of course good old light manipulation that makes me look like this. Energy manipulation that stems from the energy I get from all things listed above. That is also how I fly and make force fields. Finally invisibility, it was the first power to manifest. I can render myself and other people and things invisible”

“Follow up question, do you find yourself with a limit to any of those powers” Ward asked after writing it all down in the very tiny box.

“Nope” Alora said

“Situation of which your x-gene manifested”

“When I was Eleven someone ran into my dad's car and made us swerve off the road. They then came up to the car and shot my dad in the head and were looking for me but they didn’t see me, I didn’t understand I was invisible until a few weeks ago. The rest of my powers manifested at 16 right before my 17th birthday. I went out for a surf and when I came back there was a letter on the table from a person I had reached out to for help. He was so angry, after he threw a few punches at me he was holding me against a wall by my neck and was choking me out. I grabbed his arm and my hand started to light up. Jacob started screaming and then I was out cold. I woke up looking like this and being hyper aware of each and everything around me.”

“Alright we are going to have to put you in the omega level mutant tier. Which has more limitations then any of the others. Such as you will have to wear power inhibitors until authorized personnel deactivate them, which will be close to zero times. ” Ward started to explain

‘Your kidding right? Do you not see that I have to use my powers to glamour my appearance?” Alora said

“No I am not kidding Robin, and Fitz and Simmons are figuring out how to upgrade your sunglasses”

“I’m not wearing sunglasses all day everyday”

“You will have to, that's not up for debate”

“Thats bullshit” Alora said slamming her hands down on the table “My boyfriend and others I cared about just fucking died, for what? So that you can do the same things as sentinel services. I am not going to be a prisoner for the rest of my life because you think I am too dangerous for normal society.”

“I’ll come back once you calm down” Ward said walking out of the room

“Don’t talk to me like I'm a child” Alora exclaimed and stood up as Ward shut and locked the door. Alora started pulling on the handcuff she was bound to the table by. She pointed her non- handcuffed hand at the handcuff. She focused on it and pulled her hand down making the handcuff break. The collar didn’t do anything which was weird. Did techno take them all down? Alora knew where the cameras were in the room and she also knew someone was watching her. Did she really care? No, not really. She was reacting on blind rage at the moment because she was unbelievably pissed.

Alora turned toward the door and held out her arm pointing her arm toward the door. She watched as her arm lit up and created a beam of bright white light from her hand connecting with the door. The beam went strong for about 30 seconds then the collar emitted a continuous pain shock. She tried to block the pain out as she continued to focus her energy into the beam, but the pain became more intense and she dropped to the ground coughing, the door was being opened, May and Ward ran in. May was looking at what happened to the door and Ward was seeing if anything was wrong with her.

The others were now also running through the door “Coulson I thought you said this room was indestructible” Skye said looking at the door

“It is Skye, what are you- oh” Coulson said, also now looking at the melted and dented metal. “You did that with dampened powers” Coulson asked even though it wasn’t really a question

“Sir if she did that with dampened powers i don't think the bracelet idea will work” Simmons said

“If one more person says something about that stupid idea I am going to loose my damn mind” Alora said

“Robin, are you okay, like physically? Because that thing just shocked you” Skye asked holding out a water bottle

“I’m fine” Alora said drinking some of the water

“What did you use on the door?” Coulson asked

“Photon beam, not trying to be that person but you and I both know the government is never going to let me out of their sight. Any organization can see that I can be used as a weapon. So they either recruit me or kill me. I am not going to be used as a weapon again Coulson ”

“No one is asking you to be a weapon-”

“They won’t ask Coulson. It will be some sort of impossible deal, either join us or go to the raft” Everyone was quiet at that. They knew it was true the rest of her life was going to be full of do this or face the consequences.

“I’m sure they wouldn’t put you on the raft” Simmons said

“Where else are they going to put me Simmons? I will be on the raft drugged and restrained until they need to use me”

“Robin no one is putting you anywhere, because whether we like it or not we need people like you. People who can do unnatural things. I saw how everyone looked to you for guidance today, you were a leader today-” Coulson started saying

“I am one of their leaders, it's not just today. I was chosen for a reason I have yet to figure out. They do look to me for guidance because I helped raise those kids for the past 5 years. Foster care is cruel for any child but mutants in particular.”

“You're one of their leaders?” Coulson asked

“Is that so surprising? They call me Blaze”

“You’re the one on the news” Skye said

“Yep, May was following Shift all day while I broke into a prison.”

“Why did you break into a prison?” May asked

“The Hounds they had were there so we went to get them”

“That's all” May asked

“Yes we were saving them”

“Alright Robin, we are at a training base . Fury requested that you do a demonstration of your powers.”

“It's not an option is it?” Coulson shook his head “Got it”. Alora had only been to the ops base a few times before. The training rooms were super high tech and it was the closest base to X-star. Ward had helped her off the ground and kept a firm grasp on her arm. Skye, Fitz, and Simmons had started to walk out of the bus but Coulson stopped them.

“Sorry only level 7s and above” Coulson said and they nodded Simmons starting to explain to Skye what that meant.

Walking toward the base people were already looking at her, Ward had a grasp on her so she couldn’t run. Even if she could run, she still had a collar on so she probably wouldn’t get too far.

“Don’t you even think about it” Ward said

“Yeah Yeah whatever” Alora told him, he kind of looked mad at her but she didn’t exactly care at the moment. They were walking through the base until they got to one door that looked like a modified training room. Inside were Fury and Hill. Not going to lie, Alora kind of forgot about Hill and that she kind of betrayed her as well. Up in the gallery was Agent Weaver, Agent Hand, and a few other of the high ranking agents.

“Dr.Robin welcome for once I am actually almost surprised.” Fury said. Dramatic much. A few doctors came into the room, rolling in a few pieces of equipment. “You helped plan a Mutant uprising that destroyed a government agency, yet the only time you used violence against somebody was the last time you visited this base.”

“Respectfully he deserved the broken nose.” Alora mumbled. Hill tilted her head signalling she agreed.

“Well now knowing you could have broke the guy in half I say you held back”

“You want me to show you what I can do? And how it can benefit you right?” Robin said

“Just so we have a better understanding of what we are dealing with” Fury said, starting to walk out of the room having the others minus Hill follow him out.

“I am sorry I betrayed your trust Agent Hill” Alora said

“I know why you did it Alora, it was for once a good excuse for causing a uprising” Maria told her squeezing her shoulder before leaving the room as well

“Miss Robin change into this so we can measure your biometrics while you are using your mutation” The leader of the medical team told her, handing her a two piece suit. Being extra cautious not to touch her

“You realize I’m not contagious right?” Alora said

“I’m just not used to working with your kind” The doctor said eyeing her up and down

“My kind? You mean mutants, you realize we are all human right?”

“Whatever you say mutie”

“Call me mutie again, see what happens. I don’t need my powers to fuck you up” Alora told her before walking past her to the attached locker room

Alora changed into the suit she was given. It was skin tight and as a result felt very tight. She was absolutely not excited to do this. She knew they would ask for things she couldn't give them. As of right now she was barely holding it together. Alora wanted to shut everyone out and cry herself into what was to come. But no she was stuck showing them how destructive she was.

When she walked back into the room the original doctor was up in the gallery with everyone else.

“Dr. Robin, can I put these sensors on you?” The new doctor asked, she was sweet

“Yeah of course” Alora said as the doctor placed two sensors on her temples and on the back of her hands. She gave the gallery a thumbs up and walked out of the room making her the only one in there

“Dr. Robin, we are testing out our new training course. There will be obstacles and your goal is to make it to the other side of the room” The doctor said getting up to the gallery. After a few seconds the starting tone sounds.

The collar disabled and the obstacles started. Alora started running when the collar disabled, the first obstacle was a thick concrete wall. It had rock climbing grips on it but that was pointless so instead of doing that she put her hands in front of her and slammed them down. The wall crumbled down creating a hole in the center of it that Alora ran through.

Next was a sensory activated rubber bullet firing squad. They were firing from all directions,  Alora quickly moved her arms in the shape of an X making a force field sphere around her. Alora took her sunglasses off and put them on the top she was wearing. Alora quickly looked around to where the bullets were coming from.

She looked over to the right wall and shot lasers from her eyes, breaking the two guns on that side. Alora shoots photon beams at the rest of them. After breaking the last one she started running to the next area. It looked like a parkour range. Alora jumped onto the first pillar then stepped over to the second one, when she got to the fifth one the sixth suddenly retracted.

Alora looked for another way to get to the seventh and final one up but there wasn’t. She really hated Fury. Alora put her hand in front of her and turned them so her palms were facing each other. Her fingers bent slightly as she started to push the air molecules together. She pushed them together until it looked like a munch of tiny bubbles put together to form a bridge. Alora stepped onto her makeshift bridge and walked to the seventh pillar.

When she got up onto the pillar all of the rest going down retracted as well. Alora looked over to the gallery and rolled her eyes. She jumped off the pillar letting the color of her powers shift over to blue and purple. Alora flew down to the ground and as soon as she hit the ground the lights shut off.

“You have got to be kidding me” She mumbled not being able to see anything but the faint glow she was giving off. Colin called her glow stick for a reason because she could glow in the dark. Alora closed her eyes and felt a rush of warm energy go through her. She was now fully glowing with an iridescent aura. Alora could see what was around her with in a certain distance.

She didn’t know what the next obstacle was so she created a ball of light in her hand. Alora heard something behind her so she quickly turned around and launched the light into the obstacle behind her. It looked like some sort of metal target, Anyway her light went right through it.

Alora still could see the whole room and that was annoying her so she looked up to the ceiling where the lights were supposed to be. She held her arms up and shot some light into the lights making them turn back on. Now she wasn’t sure what she was supposed to suspect would come out of the darkness but being surrounded by 8 geared up specialists was not on the list.

She took note of the weapons they had, some of them had batons, others had guns and knives. Alora also took note of what was standing next to them all. Stupid sentinal spiders, Alora had a personal vendetta against those things. The vendetta was they caught some of her friends and they hurt like hell.

Everyone looked like they were getting ready to strike, she came up with a very vague plan in her head before one of the specialists made the first move. He came up and hit her in the stomach with his baton. Alora pushed out her hand making him fly to the other side of the room. That's when the sentinels attacked man did she hate those things. She quickly took a hold of them while all the other specialists started ascending on her. Alora pulled her hands to either side ripping the sentinels apart.

All the guys infront of her had guns and or knives. They did more damage so she swiped her hand in front of her making all of their weapons fly over to the side. That's when a guy behind her hit the back of her knee with a baton making her fall to her knee on the ground.

When he went in for another hit she put her hand in front of her, they all could hear the cracking of bones. Alora pulled him up into the air before launching him into the wall. She quickly turns around on her knees blasting one with a beam of light. When he fell to the ground she turned that light beam into a ball and hit another one in the chest. Alora was about to hit another one but she felt a painful current of electricity shot through her body.

“What the hell?” She screamed as the remaining specialists took hold of her. Alora now couldn’t use her powers. Two of the specialists were holding her arms while dragging her back. Alora kicked one of the guys in front of her trying to twist out of the other guy's grasps. That apparently did not go over well because she got kicked in the ribs a few times.

Alora did not know what the hell Fury was playing at because one of the agents not holding her pulled out a knife. The two agents holding her pulled her down to the ground so she was laying flat on it. The guy with the knife knelt on her stomach while the other agent held onto her legs so she couldn’t move.

The agent with the knife rolled up one of her sleeves and started to apply pressure with the knife. Alora screamed out as he started to drag the knife down. Everyone but her seemed to notice the ground start to rumble. The lights blew out causing glass to shatter around them. The obstacles started to bend down. The gallery window broke, and the walls started to crack a wave of light shooting out of her body making everyone and everything either fly away or slice in half.

Alora now only barely noticed the shock wave going through her. She felt herself sitting up as all the light from the room was flooding into her, the electricity adding to the energy being stored in her. The whole room started to light up with bright white light. After one last scream the light glowed the brightest it had been before turning into a blast of energy.

She felt tears rolling down her cheeks. This is the first time she had cried since everything happened. It was like all of her emotions were put on steroids. Alora was sobbing which was causing the molecules around her to start acting up as well as things going in and out of visibility. The collar around her neck still sends shocks through her.  She felt like she got her powers and was learning how to block out the feeling of everything around her.

Her arms were wrapped around herself tightly and she was slightly rocking when she heard people bust through the door. There was physically nothing she could do and her crying was making everything worse.

“Robin, you need to calm down,” She heard Coulson say. That just made her cry harder.

“Sir she is going to seriously hurt herself” Ward said

“I realize that but the protocol for an out of control mutant-” Coulson started but was interrupted by the ground starting to violently shake and the walls around them started to crumble.

May ran right through Coulson and Ward, dodging debris as it fell. She got close enough to Alora to grab her shoulders “Robin you need to stop this”

“I can’t” Alora cried out

“Yes you can so control it,” May told her. She took in a ragged breath and stretched her hands out. You could physically feel the atmosphere in the room thicken. The room felt like it was suffocating you. Alora felt all the pressure from the room times 10, she started letting tired screams leave her lips. Her arms started to pull back into her as she made her hands into fists. When she dropped her hands her body went stiff and numb. Everything in the room had stabilized.

“Robin” May said, trying to get her attention only to go unnoticed. “Robin?” She said a little more loudly, still unable to phase her. Ward and Couson now cautiously making their way over

“Alora,” May said, turning her slightly. Alora blinked twice, eyes flashing bright then back to a normal eye. Two trails of blood ran from her nose as her eyes rolled back into her head. She fell backwards and started seizing, Her muscles spasming violently. May rolled her over on her side as Coulson looked at his watch. After exactly 60 seconds she stopped seizing but remained unconscious.

None of the things people saw today compared to the horrors going on in her head.
