Jeongyeon is having fun and Nayeon is getting annoyed, like all the other interactions they had till now
How did that freak even get her number?
“This is Jeongyeon BTW, I exchanged Sana’s number for yours from Jihyo.”
So Jihyo is a traitor, why is everyone always against her? And also when did they exchange numbers? She blocked the number and to her pleasure she did not see Jeongyeon again the next week.
And then to her dismay she saw her again after that but this time she was everywhere. On variety shows, on TV, Nayeon saw posters everywhere and the girl even came up on her timeline. This might be worse for Nayeon because this time the girl did not come paired up with her annoying personality. She saw only her good looks and Nayeon does not know why the girl’s looks makes her blood boil probably because the blood is pumping into her head and making her head hurt.
Maybe she does know why it bothers her, the girl’s fangirls thirsting over her and making edits of her good sides. Okay, so what if she cares about her members? So what if she is one of the most beautiful faces on earth, Nayeon does not care, and she shouldn’t be seeing this everywhere. She really does not want to see her again.
The girl does not realize that she does not have much time left, she will take this statement back.
—
Nayeon is already in her bed drifting off to dreamland when her phone woke her up. She reaches for her phone from under her pillow and it is Jihyo whose name appears on the screen. It's 11PM it is very unusual for Jihyo to call her right now. She swipes right anyway and after the first sentence immediatly gets a frown on her face.
“Nayeon, I won’t be able to watch Ryujin in the morning, I’m sorry.”
Nayeon sighs, this has happened more times than she likes to admit. The two women have a busy schedule, and when something like this happens, more times out of not she stays with a friend or one of Jihyo’s relatives. At the next sentence she brightened again.
“But, I have good news, I have already found a babysitter for today. She will arrive shortly at your house.”
Before Nayeon could even get a word in, Jihyo closes the call. Nayeon doesn’t know who is friendly enough to offer up their Friday to look after her child but she is really thankful that she won't have to wake people up from their slumber early in the morning to ask them if they would like to babysit her kid.
That is at least what she thought until she saw who showed up in front of her doorstep. Yes, you guessed correctly, it was none other than Yoo Jeongyeon.
“What are you doing here?” Nayeon asks the anger evident from her voice. And right now Nayeon really wonders how someone this tone deaf could become a singer because Jeongyeon just goes into her house and doesn’t even mind the daggers Nayeon sends her way.
The girl must have some kind of tumor inside her head, because no one can be so dense.
The opposite of Nayeon, her child Ryujin is already enjoying the presence of the singer inside her home. And all there is left for Nayeon to do is accept this fact, Jeongyeon will be in her house the next few hours. She ignores that fact and instead lets her know that she could arrive late and to put Ryujin in bed on time. And to give her food. Jeongyeon laughs and tells her not to worry and also that everything will be alright. Nayeon doubts this but she does not say anything else and goes on her way.
“Why does my mom not like you?” Ryujin asks Jeongyeon, curious why her normally friendly mom would act so cold to someone like Jeongyeon, who is equally as friendly as her mother.
“I am not sure, Ryujin.” The woman answers, she puts one finger on her chin, making the visual representation of a thinker. “Maybe because I am a bit annoying towards her or it could also be because of that time I was in the hospital and your mom could not go home because I took all of her time, or maybe the day after that she was not really happy to see me, or maybe it could also be because we are good friends and your mom and I are not that close yet.”
Ryujin did not really follow up with that subject and instead said. “Okay, do you want to play barbies with me?” The little girl did not wait for the older girl’s answer and instead ran to her room to get her dolls.
While the girl gets her stuff Jeongyeon got a headache, the same one she had this morning but now it is ten times worse. Everything is suddenly blurred and Jeongyeon has to close her eyes to not pull her eyeballs out to feel something else than the stabbing pain in her head. When the pain subsides, she rushes to the kitchen to get some painkillers. Before she can reach it though Ryujin comes back her tiny body hugging more barbies the older girl could have imagined was possible her hands not being able to meet in the middle. The kid also mentioned her collection of pokemon plushies and Jeongyeon had to keep the girl from bringing them too, to not make a mess. Her headache already forgotten she made sure that the plushies the kid just mentioned would get their turn of being played and loved too.
Playing with the barbies was fun if you would ask Ryujin, she had made a whole scenario that would play out when she was collecting her barbies from her room. A new barbie would move to the barbie town and would fall in love with Ken and live happily ever after. She was Barbie and Jeongyeon was playing Ken. But Ryujin had to admit to Ken that after he fell in love with her that his cheesy lines were not doing it for her and she would rather live with her neighbor, Barbie and live happily ever after with her. They agreed and both split ways. Sadly no Barbie lived happily after because she got hungry and she and Jeongyeon decided to retire from the game. They tidied up the room before going into the kitchen to make something.
Ryujin decided to help Jeongyeon because the woman does not know where everything is in the kitchen.
It’s not hard for Jeongyeon to find everything, she does not need Ryujin’s help but if the girl insists on helping then she will not refuse her. Also the girl is giving her various suggestions on making the food more ‘yummy’.
Though not all suggestions are good. After checking every cabinet and the fridge she decides on making chicken noodle soup because of the simple reason that there was nothing else in the kitchen except for noodles, eggs and spices.
The little girl suggested putting honey inside of it which is not a bad idea at all except for the fact that the little one wanted to put it in with the whole plastic bottle. That is when Jeongyeon decided to turn on the TV for the girl while the woman could make them food.
Ryujin was not happy with that decision, she sat on the floor of the kitchen right in the center to show her what getting in the way really looks like. The girl crossed her arms up her chest and drew her eyebrows together to show the older woman that she is in fact angry.
Jeongyeon knows what the girl is doing and decides not to play along. Instead she manipulates the girl into thinking that watching cartoons is way more fun.
“Huh? Do you really want to help that much?” Jeongyeon says after a while, trying to sound and look as confused as possible, “I thought that watching Pokémon would be way more fun for you.” She finishes. The food is already done, thanks to teh easy dish she is making.
“No, I want to make our food.” Ryujin responds with a pout on her face.
“Oh, that is so sweet of you Ryujin, thank you.” The woman says and leaves her on the kitchen floor. She goes to sit on the sofa in the living room and opens season one of Pokémon.
Jeongyeon notices the little girl sneakily sitting behind Jeongyeon and watching it with her. The child just wants to spend time with her, she thinks.
She turns around and watches the kid looking at her, she come eye to eye with the kid and she sees a determined look register its way to her face. Her eyebrows pinch together and her lips a thin line like her eyes, like she is challenging Jeongyeon.
“What do you like in your noodles?” The girl asks, Jeongyeon wants to laugh. She has never seen a little girl be this serious about anything. While she laughs her lips become an even thinner line if that was possible, it looked like the girl was scanning her prey but Jeongyeon was not sure if she even could see her in a clear way.
Jeongyeon told her that she would like anything in her noodles if it is edible. Ryujin was not happy with that answer because she stomped her way out of the living room into the kitchen. Jeongyeon watched her from the door opening. The little girl washed her hands, put on appropriate clothing and started working on the noodles. If they had to be honest though, there wasn’t much to do, everything was already cooked by Jeongyeon and the only thing Ryujin had to do was assembling all the things together. All the things being the cooked vegetables and the already made meat that was in the fridge with the noodles and the sauce.
Ryujin however saw it as a challenge to make the best of it. She even made a plate for her mother, who would not be present for the next couple of hours.
And Jeongyeon had to admit that the plate Ryujin made her look so good. She raised one of her eyebrows in a questioning manner when Ryujin came out of the kitchen with only one plate in her hand and two full plates left on the kitchen counter.
“You are a big girl,” Ryujin puts her food on the table on the head of the table and continues, “you can go get your own plate.”
Without any arguing or saying anything back. Jeongyeon goes to the kitchen to get the plate that is the furthest from her and she puts it in the fridge so Nayeon can taste it when she returns. She sees from her peripheral view that Ryujin is watching her. An eyebrow raised in a condescending way. Jeongyeon looks at her with narrowed eyes to say that she won’t back down from a challenge thrown her way.
She reaches to get her plate, and when she lifts it she immediately realizes something is wrong but she is too late. The force she used to lift up the plate was too much for the significantly lighter dish, resulting in a very hot noodle soup shower. Her face started burning and Jeongyeon had to try her best to contain herself not to scream out of the pain and potentially scare the girl that was bursting out laughing.
When she finally gets herself together she says, “Okay, Ryujin, this is not cool. I could have been seriously injured.”
The girl starts laughing even harder because at that very moment a bunch of noodles decide to slide down her face. "I am going to take a shower.” She says and runs upstairs, the ugly feeling of dirt making its way everywhere on her body. It is one of the few things Jeongyeon hates the most, dirt.
It’s not easy to find replacement clothing, she first looked through the rooms but the woman did not find anything that could fit her in Nayeon’s closet. Finally after looking through everywhere she found some old and clean clothes in the bathroom hidden away. The clothes were a little big on her and Jeongyeon wondered where Nayeon had these clothes from. She did not wonder for too long, probably pregnancy clothing. She thought. Because the headache she had earlier in the day came raging back. She became dizzy for a second and fell on her knees with both of her hands holding her head. This time the headache felt really intense but it was significantly shorter than the long sessions she had this morning and last night. She is glad that the headaches lessen. But the intensity of this one left Jeongyeon sitting on the ground for a little while longer.
All was forgotten though when she took the refreshing shower and wore the musty smelling clothes.
—
Jeongyeon got out of the shower, wearing clothes she didn’t own in a house she didn’t live in and babysitting a woman’s child that didn’t like her, what a life. She thought.
When she came back to sit with the little girl and watch cartoons with her the girl whispered something in her ear. She did not get it the first time and asked the girl to repeat it. With a louder tone Ryujin said, “You don’t have to worry if you would have gotten hurt earlier. My mom would have saved you.” Jeongyeon’s heart warmed at the sweet statement.
—
It did not take long for Nayeon to arrive after that. The two girls were watching Pokémon (that show really made these two bond.). And Jeongyeon’s heart sank when she saw the dark circles under the woman’s tired eyes. It was already late and Ryujin had drifted off to dreamland.
Jeongyeon slowly stood up from where she was sitting next to Ryujin. While Nayeon put down her bag and hung her jacket up.
Jeongyeon went into the kitchen silently putting her bowl of chicken noodle soup in the microwave and afterwards on the table where Nayeon was already seated, her eyes staring off into the distance.
Jeongyeon took her coat and the plastic bag she put her dirty clothes in and before walking out the door she saw Nayeon looking sadly at the food. She walked up to her and gave her a light hug. It was so light, Nayeon thought for a second that Jeongyeon had not touched her until she left her breath on her neck and she became hyperaware of her body. So close to her own.
If Jeongyeon was not focused on the light hug she was giving she would have felt Nayeon’s arms wrapping much more lightly around her. And if Jeongyeon paid more attention to Nayeon after the hug she would see the corners of her mouth turning upwards and the way her eyes followed Jeongyeon out the door.
Then immediately after that she rolled her eyes because Jeongyeon closed the door too hard and woke Ryujin up. And only after Ryujin fell asleep again, this time in her own bed, did she get time to think. And she realized that Jeongyeon was wearing her ex-husbands clothes.
The worst thing about this is that Nayeon does not know how to feel about this.

For the first time in a while Jihyo woke up with a smile. She had given Jeongyeon instructions on how to win over Nayeon earlier that week and in return the girl set up a date for her with Sana.
Jeongyeon had promised Sana that she would bring her on a hiking trip, but what Sana does not know is that Jeongyeon will get a call on the way to the spot from her manager and tell her that she has to get back to the company immediatly and that it is an emergency. After that Jihyo will get a text from her. And that is Jihyo’s cue to post a picture of herself on the location Jeongyeon and Sana wanted to hike at. Sana will see the picture and decide to come alone and hang out with her. It is a solid plan, if you would ask Jihyo.
Thinking of all that while still laying in bed, she got happy and did not even shut her alarm off because what if she was actually dreaming, she should wake up and go to her date.
SHE SHOULD WAKE UP AND GO TO HER DATE!
Jihyo jumped out of her bed, her cat that was laying on her, catapulting off of the bed at the same time, the cat hissed and scratched Jihyo, but decided to forgive her after she gave her food.
But Jihyo was still late. She got her coat and her backpack she made before going to sleep. And went to get her car. It was still dark outside, the idol girls not wanting to get recognised on their way out of their apartments and on the street in their car.
Well Jihyo made it on time to the hiking site and posted on her instagram story on time too, but what no one took into consideration was that Sana, the girl who is on her phone more than half of the day would forget her phone at her apartment. Well this kind of situation would not even cross her overthinking mind and she waited for a few hours at the bottom of the site and just thought that she just did not want to do this with her instead.
Later she found out when she started climbing and had perception again that she saw Jeongyeon’s text telling her that Sana was not coming.
To sum it all up, Jihyo had a great day.
Jihyo’s misfortune in the love scene is the result of why Jeongyeon comes more often to babysit, to make time for Jihyo and Sana to hang out (Or that is what she tells Nayeon). Even bringing her dog along with her. It surprises Nayeon how available Jeongyeon is. As an idol, don’t you have music to make or don’t you have to hide from the media or deny dating rumors or something?
In comparison with Sana, who is busy all the time. Although Nayeon thinks she could say the same about Jihyo, the girl is not available all the time, she just makes herself available for Sana. The same goes for Jeongyeon.
That only proves the fact that if they really love you, they will make time! (Unlike Nayeon’s ex-husband)
