Chapter 5
El: I have found her.
El: She is sleeping in front of our door.
Jade: What is she doing there?
El: I have no idea
Jade: I am coming.
Jade turned her car around and drove back home. Why was Kit there? Was she there the whole time? What was so necessary that she waited till fell asleep at Jade’s door? Was she hiding from some danger? If so why would she go to Jade's place out of all the people? Numerous questions ran through Jade's head.
She couldn't wait to get home to find all the answers. She parked her car and went into the house and saw Elora and Kit arguing about something. "I could send you to jail for defaming me,"
"I didn't, it was a misund—jade you're here," Elora stopped as she saw Jade walking in. "What is happening here?" Jade asked after witnessing the argument. Kit immediately went to Jade, her face tensed, her hands shaking slightly and she asked. "Jade, can you tell me where you took me earlier,"
"First you tell me where you were? Your brother was so stressed," Jade inquired, worriedly. Kit grew even tenser. "Jade please, give the location,"
Jade could see the overwhelmingness in the girl's voice. "Is something wrong?"
Kit pushed her hair back and nodded viciously as she said "Yes, everything, I have to go there, right now,"
"Right now? It's almost 4—"
"Please, just give the address, I am not asking you to come with me," Kit chewed on her bottom lip. Jade looked at Elora who shrugged. "I will take you,"
Jade and Kit left for the abandoned building. Jade looked as the short-haired girl was nervously tapping her knees as she looked out of the window, her lips trembling, her chest letting out heavy breathing. Something about that place was bothering her, Jade could tell, she had the urge to ask but she controlled it, if Kit wanted she would have told her.
As soon as she stopped the car Kit rushed don't of it. Jade followed her and watched all the tension leave Kit's face. Her face lit up, her pale blue eyes and she turned her face to Jade, a cheeky smile on her face. "Thank you so much,"
Jade looked confused, Kit sprinting somewhere. Kit stopped by her motorbike and Jade let out a breath and went by Kit. "You were so stressed about a motorbike? You are a bloody billionaire you could get thousands of these," Jade pointed out.
Kit just laughed and got on her motorbike. "Once thanks for the ride, I will leave now,"
"You should before your mother calls the cops," Kit furrowed her eyebrows. "We were searching for you for hours but couldn't find you so your brother said he will tell your mother—"
"Oh fuck!" Kit cursed and rushed her bike with a whooshing sound. "Drive safe!" Jade called after her.
As Kit disappeared from her view, she yawned. "This girl..." She mumbled to herself and got back I'm her car as she took I'm whatever happened today. Her crush asked to hang out with her, but her crush got injured and lay in her arms for a long time. She felt her insides tingling at that, she was too worried to notice back then.
She headed back home a rested for a couple of hours before getting ready for school. She wasn't a heavy sleeper and can sustain with barely 2 hours of sleep—maybe she couldn't— but she wasn't going to get absent in the first week of her school, scorpia isn't paying so much for Jade to skip.
Jade was walking slowly down the hallway in hopes of some glimpse of Kit. She looked around for Kit in the classroom as well, it soon hit her, Kit wasn't coming today.
This was the first time, her memories of how much she hated school came back to her mind. She was so busy staring and daydreaming about Kit, getting thrilled about catching a glimpse of Kit, she didn't even realize she was at school.
Now that Kit was not at school, Jade felt like she had been trapped in a prison, she still daydreamed but she didn't have any excitement in her as she knew she wasn't going to see Kit.
Jade was falling asleep in literally every class due to the lack of sleep. As soon as she walked out of the school gates felt like a free butterfly. She flew to her house and slept throughout the afternoon.
When she woke up she was feeling better, she picked up her phone she was on charging and saw a few text notification from Kit.
Kit: Hi Jade(9:53 pm)
This text was from yesterday, her phone was on silent therefore she didn't see it. Another text were from an hour earlier.
Kit: Hello!
Kit: I wanted to thank you for last night
Kit: I am hoping we can meet again.
Jade squealed into her pillow and hugged it tightly. They were going to meet again.
Kit: and spar?
"Oh hell no," Jade instantly said and tapped the screen. She didn't what to spend. She didn't want to decline kit's offer to meet but she also didn't want to see Kit with a sword again. The first time had traumatized her enough. She typed in.
Jade: I would love to meet but let's do something other than sparing.
Kit: Okay, we will meet tonight?
Jade: Can't meet at night, I have work at that time.
Kit: Oh
Kit: I didn't know you worked, where do you work?
Jade looked at the message just delivered to her. If Kit didn't know about Jade's workplace, who told Airk? She shrugged it off and texted back.
Jade: Boorman's night.
Kit: When does your shift start?"
Jade: Around 8, why are you asking?
Kit: I will be there.
Jade: No, please don’t, you are not old enough to be there.
Kit: Okay, if you say so.
She sighed at the response a part of her was feeling regret, she missed the opportunity to see Kit tonight but it was for the better. Jade opened up her book and quickly finished her home task before going for her shift.
As she served the customers her eyes were glued to the entrance door in hopes of someone but she saw something, she truly didn't expect was Elora lip-locking with Airk!
She made a disgusting face and turned over to see none other than Kit with her elbow resting on the counter, her chin in her arms, smiling up at Jade. "disgusted innit?" Kit said, trying to pick a British accent—in a very bad manner.
The look on Jade's face gave it away and Kit said "Forget I ever said that," Jade chuckled and shook her head "I will try my best," Kit raised her head and said, "Can I get a brandy?"
"Nope, we don't serve minors," Jade teased. Boorman came from out of nowhere and said "Since when?" He was right, boorman won't even hesitate to give it to five-year-old alcohol. Kit showed her fake ID and pouted. "Please, ma'am,"
Jade couldn't help her smile as she played along. "Of course, princess," She gave her a shot of brandy.
Kit's eyes wandered back at Elora and her brother. "I can't believe, Airk would like someone like her but it's Airk so it's understandable," Jade chuckled and said, "What's wrong with Elora?"
Kit gasped in shock "Everything, she is a fraud, she accused me of—god knows what—she tried to damage my reputation," Jade shook her head. "She didn't, It was me who thought that you were the one troubling her,"
"Well...it's her fault," Jade face palmed herself and they continued chatting till Jade's shift ended.
