chapter 1 lol
after the attack on new york, thor insisted that instead of Loki being imprisoned either somewhere on Asgard or somewhere on Earth, he joins the avengers to pay his debt. he was always kept a close eye on by his brother, & eventually he stopped trying to escape. he didn’t get close to the group, but he had stopped being hostile. in fact,, he had been trusted enough to even go on missions w/ them. tony was still not sure abt loki, after all he did almost die in the attack, but he too has stopped attacking loki & causing a split in the group. so far not many threats have been too difficult, but there have been a couple close calls, only w/ tony. steve & pepper were very annoyed at him at the moment, as it seems as tho he tries to sacrifice himself at every chance. the group has come very close together, apart from loki. there have even been a few suspected love interest inside the group,, ahem,, nat & bruce,,, tho tony says bruce will never make a move on her.
currently,, not much was happening. tony & pepper were having a date night, clint was taking a nap, nat & thor were watching tv, specifically rupaul’s drag race, w/ nat trying to get thor to wear a dress. bruce was in the lab, doing things no one besides tony was able to understand. meanwhile, loki was in his room, reading a random book nat had suggested. nothing had happened in the past month or so, & while loki was fine w/ the time he got to himself, the rest of the avengers were shaking w/ boredom. they couldn’t wait for the next mission.
it was late at night, & tony & pepper had just returned home from dinner. nick fury bursts into the room, w/ maria hill close on his tails. the other avengers who weren’t in the lounge, heard the noise of the door opening, &, eager to have a mission, immediately ran to see what was going on. loki, not being bothered whether a mission had come up or not, took his sweet time in walking to the lounge. because of this, he missed a bit of fury’s message. but it didn’t really bother him. “look who finally decided to join us” stark said, his usual cocky tone very present. “yes i wonder on earth what you did to deserve my presence” loki smoothly replied, already ready to go back to his room. “this is important loki, you need to hear this.” maria said. “well get to it then, i do not have all day” loki said, sitting down & crossing one leg over the other.
“we have been sent a security message stating that one of the bases downtown has been ransacked. no one heard any noise, or saw anything unusual happen. all they know is that when they came back from lunch, there was nothing left.” fury explained. “lunch ? but it’s almost ten at night ? why did it take them so long to report back to us ?” bruce asked, tho loki wasn’t as concerned abt this. the base downtown didn’t have anything really important, so loki was confused as to why, out of everything, that was what was robbed. the only things there were money, maybe a gun or two. so, once again, why was that what was attacked ? “we will continue this conversation in the morning, where will we check out to see if we can find anything out of the ordinary to track down what has happened. i expect all of you to be waiting here for me at 8am sharp. you got that, snake boy ?” fury demanded, getting very close to loki. “yes your highness” loki mocked, before snatching where his book rested on the table, & marching back to his room.
