There's a trophy that Maya and Claudine got together and a picture of them holding it, framed and behind glass at their school. The both of them forgot about each other until their 10 year high school reunion and they're both trying to fight themselves to remember who that is next to them until one of them looks over and realizes.
They wanted to jump on the other but said other didn't even seem to notice that they were there. So they just stood there in an uncomfortable silence, Maya not knowing how to break it. They were so close but so far from each other. Claudine finally noticed the other, it takes her a moment and a few glances back that the now very old photo to connect the dot that the person in the photo was the same being in front of her. Only thing, what was her name again?
Maya decided that she wasn't going to reconnect the bridge that was broken 10 years ago. Some things were meant to stay in the past, and their relationship was one of them. She took one last look at Claudine and walked off, never looking back. Just like how Claudine did when she left for France, and how she'd forget about this encounter, forget about their history. Forget about Maya all again after this.
Meanwhile Claudine wanted to stop her, but something in her didn't allow her feet to move from her position. Her heart unknowingly longed for her all these years and just when it subdued, Maya walked back into her life. Even if it was for a second, it was like Claudine was reliving her high school years. Maya was still superior to her and would always leave her in the dust, just as she left her alone after reopening a wound that should've healed years ago.
