Being exposed to Wanda's hex really had taken a toll on both Darcy and (the now director), Monica Rambeau.
Or how Darcy liked to now call her, her girlfriend. It happened after Hayward's arrest, and after the battle between Agatha, and the newly-crowned Scarlet Witch (AKA Wanda). Yes, they had been secretly flirting and hinting at one another ever since they met, but Wanda's constant tricks left little opportunity for a romance to form and blossom. However, the girls now found themselves with more time than usual, and a relationship had been quick to form, with the girls now referring to each other as girlfriends, or as Darcy liked to call Monica, "The Worlds Biggest Captain Marvel Fan" (as you can imagine, she wasn't the biggest fan, but she loves Darcy so she'll let it slide).
Darcy wasn't hesitant at all to bring up her ADHD, in fact, she was so confident she didn't even realise she was telling Monica until the words came out of her mouth. She wasn't even scared of her response, and didn't even breath a sigh of relief when Monica began to reassure her that her ADHD wasn't anything that needed to be hidden in their relationship.
As time went on, Monica became more aware of Darcy's stimming techniques, recognising when environments are becoming too much for the young astrophysicist, and learning what she could do to help Darcy, and what she couldn't. She'd come to learn what fidget toys could help Darcy, and how holding her hand could instantly calm her. Monica had come to learn that Darcy much preferred fiddling with her fingers whenever they were holding hands, something that she recognised as a sign of trust. A sign that Darcy trusted her enough not to care how she fidgeted anymore.
Darcy realised that she loved Monica so much that she didn't care if she stimmed, something that ex-lovers in the past looked down on. Monica simply loved Darcy. And that was enough for her.
So when she lost that comfort, it felt like the end of the world.
Carol had shown up, with a girl? Darcy can't remember much about the girl. she was called Kamala Kahn??? Miss Marvel???
She didn't care. Monica had to leave.
To help save the universe with her new found powers.
But now Darcy's all alone. With no one to hold. With no guarantee that her Monica, her beautiful, talented Monica, would even come back alive.
She visits Jimmy regularly now, seeing as Jane's now off somewhere playing "Lady Thor" (a stupid name she thought. you could pick any name and you put lady in front of Thor??? now that's just lazy, she thought.)
But now, she's all alone.
She gets irregular visits from Wanda. Mostly just to apologise for the Hex before flying off again.
Selvig visits sometimes too. With space postcards from Jane.
Why doesn't she ever get a postcard?
Would Monica ever send her one?
Her brains running on overdrive. She's not shocked though. No biggie, happens all the time right? But, not like this.
