The Tree Tried to Kidnap Us
Ava landed the Milano and the two of them climbed out. They walked across the streets of Xandar and entered the broker's shop.
"The Orb," Ava said and roughly sat it on the desk in front of them.
"As commissioned" Peter added.
"Where's Yondu?" the Broker asked.
"Wanted to be here, sends his love. And told me to tell you, that you got the best eyebrows in the business."
Ava sent him a look, as the broker picked up the orb, "What is it?" she asked.
"It is my policy never to discuss my clients or their needs."
"Yeah, well, we almost died getting it for you," Peter told him.
"An occupational hazard, I'm sure, in your line of work."
"Some machine-headed freak, working for a dude named Ronan." Peter elaborated.
The Broker suddenly looked afraid, "Ronan? I'm sorry. I truly am. But I want no part of this transaction if Ronan is involved."
Ava was handed back the orb as they were pushed out of the shop door.
"Woh! Woh, woh, woh! Who's Ronan?" Peter asked.
"A Kree fanatic, outraged by the peace treaty, who will not rest until Xandarian culture, my culture, is wiped from existence!" he explained before starting to push again.
"Come on!" Peter exclaimed.
"He's someone whose bad side I'd rather not be on."
"What about our bad side?" Ava asked with narrowed eyes.
The Broker swallowed before stepping back, having successfully pushed both customers out of his house, "Farewell," he closed the door.
"Hey, we had a deal, bro!" Peter yelled.
The two then turned and saw a woman with long dark hair watch them.
"What happened?" the woman asked.
"The man backed out of a deal with us," Ava explained.
Peter nodded, "If there's one thing I hate, it's a man without integrity," he pointed as Ava, "That's Ava. I'm Peter Quill. People call me Star-Lord."
Ava snorted, no one called him Star-Lord.
"You have the bearing of a man of honour," the woman told him as Peter started to play around with the orb he took from Jaylah.
"Well, you know, I wouldn't say that. People say it about me, all the time, but it's not something I would ever say about myself."
The woman suddenly kicked Peter's stomach and ran off with the orb.
Peter threw a magnetic rope which wrapped around Gamora's legs and made her fall to the ground.
Ava teleported herself and Peter over to the woman and grabbed the orb but the woman freed herself and kicked Ava off her, grabbing the orb and punching Peter down.
"This wasn't the plan," she said as she held up a knife, ready to stab him.
Out of nowwhere, a furry creature knocked the unknown woman down.
"Put them in the bag! The white one first!" the furry creature yelled.
Peter grabbed the orb as the woman was grabbed by a gigantic tree.
"No! Not her! Learn colours, man."
Ava teleported Peter and her further away and they continue running as a piece of metal suddenly hits Peter's hand, making him drop the orb.
"Fool. You should have learned," the woman told Peter as she tackled him to the ground.
"He doesn't learn," Ava told her, ripping her off her adoptive son, "One of his issues," she teleported the woman away before going back to Peter.
As she arrived, she saw that the tree and the little animal had him stuffed in a bag.
"Oh come on."
"Quit smiling, you idiot. You're supposed to be a professional," the animal told the tree as Ava used her Jaylah stick to hit the tree over the head.
"I am Groot," the tree said as he dropped the bag, letting Peter out of the bag.
They saw the other woman running back towards them as Ava threw the orb to Peter, who ran off and got ready to fight the other woman.
"You know I live for the simple things. Like how much this is gonna hurt."
Hearing the animal speak, Ava turned around and saw it pointing a Laser Cannon at Peter. She quickly teleported in front of it, getting shot with the blast meant for Peter.
Ava yelled out as she withered in pain on the floor, making Peter turn around again as the unknown woman caught up with them.
"Subject 89P13, drop your weapon," they heard a loud voice say and the animal dropped its gun.
"Oh, crap," it dropped its weapon.
"By the authority of the Nova Corps, you are under arrest for endangerment to life and the destruction of property."
Ava was picked up by one of the Corpsmen and another one arrested Peter, "Hey! If this isn't Star-Prince."
This was Corpsman Dey, he had arrested Peter before when he had decided to prove he could do a solo mission without getting arrested.
"Star-Lord," Peter corrected.
"Oh, sorry. Lord," he turned to his partner, "I picked this guy up a while back for petty theft. He's got a code name."
"Come on, man. It's a...it's an outlaw name."
"Just relax, pal. It's cool to have a code name. It's not that weird."

"Ava also known as Jaylah," Corpsman Dey said, looking over her records. "Also part of the Ravengers. Unknown home planet. Unknown species."
