Marvel Story ideas/ mostly Tony Stark story ideas [Prompts]

Set after C.A. T.W.S.
Barnes gets very few memories from before he was captured, he only recalls enough to know that he was Steve's friend. After looking himself up while at the museum he goes into hiding.

He does not remember anything more about his time as Bucky. What he does end up doing is discovering what it is like to be human again. He finds likes and dislikes, learns that his skills can be used for something other than murder.
He begins to recall more about his time as the soldier. He remembers missions, people, and the torture he went through. While running from Sam and Steve he takes the time to destroy various Hydra hideouts that he remembers from before.

One thing he always does after gaining a memory about a mission is send out letters. He has no problem killing Hydra agents but his guilt over the victims from his time with them is great. He searches for the closest living relative of his victims, via the internet, and sends them a letter.
These letters explain what really happened to their loved ones, who ordered the hit, and has apologies for not being able to stop himself.

(With the shield and hydra dump his file is out on the web, Steve isn't great with tech and Natasha can only do so much. So everyone can read his file and see what they did to him)

Barnes even sent a letter to Tony.

Months after that particular letter is read Barnes starts to panic. Why? Because every payphone he passes by starts to ring. If someone else answers they just hang up. Security cameras begin to follow his movements as well.
It isn't until he finally answers one of the phones that he discovers who it is.
Tony Stark wanted to talk with him, while not letting the other's find out where Barnes is.

So they talk, about the letter and the guilt and the pain. They talk about torture and captivity, about not being the men they were before. Barnes admits to not even knowing who Bucky is, Tony starts calling him by funny nicknames or sometimes even just James (Jimmyboy, jimbob, where's Waldo, and Dori are examples of names to use)

This all happens before Ultron.

Barnes gets to Sokovia first, the Hydra base is taken out with stealth. By the time the Avengers get there all that are left are bodies (if you include the twins in that mass it's fine, unless you want extra drama. Either way they are not there when the avengers get there)

Without the vision to terrify Tony Ultron is not created. Jarvis, our favorite A.I. remains alive!
Since there is no Ultron that also means no Zemo....unless you want something else to trigger that.

Barnes and Tony chat via phone and random visits when the other avengers arnt around. They get to know each other and Barnes finds that he likes Tony.

Steve, Sam, and Natasha still go out to search for Barnes without telling anyone. Tony finds out that they know and is pissed. He doesn't show his anger, instead he waits to see how long it will take for any of them to tell him the truth.

Slowly the other avengers are clued in on this.

Thor, not as dumb as he appears, understands what Tony is doing. He see's how much his friendship with Barnes has helped both of them and keeps his silence over both issues. He does make a comment to Tony when they are alone that he will ask his people if there is a way to help Barnes with the trigger words. (Which Barnes told Tony about when he remembered them)

Bruce also finds out and decides to stay out of that mess, as he had said in the beginning...the team is a time bomb. He wants to stay out of it as much as he can before it blows. (The Hulk never cared much for anyone aside from Tony anyway, though he does enjoy sparing with Thor)

Clint is close to retiring and is too close to the situation to see what is going on, he sees better from a distance in more than just combat. He doesn't find out about it.

At some point Barnes gets help with the trigger words and becomes a permanent fixture in Tony's life but does not want to be involved with avengers business unless absolutely necessary. He is tired of fighting and killing.

Steve needs a few arguments to understand this fact, as well as the fact that he isn't bucky anymore.

Steve realizing he fucked up by keeping the truth from Tony. He is also confused about how they know each other and when the relationship began at all.

Natasha realizing that she shouldn't assume things will go as she planned. Also that she knows nothing about the real Tony.

Sam is just confused about what's going on but he rolls with it like a champ.

Rhodey was in on the whole thing because Tony wont keep something this big from him (well not anymore anyway, Tony's learned from the arc reactor poisoning incident.) He has already given Barnes the shovel talk, with back up from Happy and Pepper.

Harley visits New York on occasion and Skypes Tony often. He is very chill about things. (If you add Peter in this, make sure Tony introduces the two of them and them becoming snarky science bros, much to Tony's delight and horror)
