Got your sweater (found your secrets)

Thor was shivering as he and Bruce stepped out of the avengers tower. It was 2 am and also the middle of winter, but Thor thought he could get by with just a t-shirt because he’s “Asgardian and stronger than a mortal”

‘It’s true that I am!’ Thor whined as he and Bruce walked down the sidewalk. They both had their own apartments, despite being avengers. It was probably not the best setup, especially with all their mental health problems.

‘I’m not denying it, I’m just saying that that might not apply to all areas of you.’ Bruce argued, gesturing at Thor’s arms, which were wrapped around Thor’s torso for warmth.

‘I am Asgardian. I will not bow down to Midgardian standards.’ Thor huffed, snowflakes falling down on his short hair.

‘Hmph. I see the ego’s still big.’ Bruce joked. ‘I’m not saying you have to, but just... here.’

As Thor turned to the small scientist, he saw Bruce reach into his bag and grab a huge hoodie.

‘Take this. I would normally use it for hulk-outs, which explains the size.’ Bruce said, shoving the hoodie at Thor.

Thor looked at the hoodie and reluctantly slid it over his head. It was a bit too big for him, going down to his mid-thighs. The sleeves were also too long, but Thor used them as mittens, slipping the hood over his head. ‘Many thanks, Banner.’

‘No problem. But just plan your outfits better next time, ok?’

‘... Okay.’ Thot conceded.

‘Anyway, what were you and Steve talking about when he fell asleep? I’m eager to know.’ Bruce inquired.

‘I must say, Banner, it is an unrequited talent of yours to pick the worst topic of conversation.’ Thor smirked.

‘Hey! I’m just wondering what topic could possibly get Captain America to fall asleep.’ Bruce said, grinning.

They parted ways about fifteen minutes later, Thor going left and Bruce going right. As Thor walked away, he recounted the activities of the day and what he had to do tomorrow. It was an easier way to keep his mind off things like Loki, Thanos, the death of half the universe....

No. Thor thought. Think about other things. You still have some of the Avengers, Brunnhilde, Bruce...

‘Oh! Thor realized as he came through the door. ‘This is Banner’s sweater.’

As Thor started to take it off, he felt something heavy in the pocket. As he slipped it back on, he fished around in the pocket at the front of the hoodie until he hit something hard.

Banner’s phone? Thor thought as he room it out. No, because the case has the words “avengers” written in that style of that sitcom he likes, Friends. Bruce’s phone case is black with a beaker.

He stared at it a couple seconds, turning it around in his hands until the screen lit up. It was a picture of him and Bruce trying to control the Quinjet but failing horribly. He tried to unlock it, and, to his surprise, it unlocked immediately. You’d think a man like Banner would have better security on his phone.

Thor swiped through the screens a little. Lots of games and social media apps showed up. Flappy bird, Instagram, Facebook... nothing popped out at him.

He was looking at a page when his thumb slipped and hit Spotify. As the app opened, Thor could see some of Bruce’s playlists. Avengers, Beatles, Calm down songs, sciencing stuff... wait, what is that?

Thor’s eyes landed on a playlist with his face on it from the night that the avengers had tried to pick up mjolnir. He was laughing. But what surprised him most was the name:

The playlist was called 💜💚Thor⚡️

Because Thor was curious by nature and also had little respect for privacy, he opened up the playlist. It had some of Thor’s favourites. Immigrant Song, Believer, Highway to Hell... But it also had some other songs. Accidentally in Love, Can’t Help Falling in Love, and I Won’t Give Up.

There seems to be a theme here, Thor thought. I’ll just ask him tomorrow.

The next day, as Thor went to the Avengers tower, he kept unconsciously feeling for the phone in the front pocket of Bruce’s hoodie. He had to make sure it was there, because it was the only way he was going to confront Bruce. As he got into the elevator and made his way up to the 67th floor, Bruce’s lab, he started really feeling nervous. He was the God of Thunder, King of Asgard, an Avenger. So why was he nervous?

‘Hey, Thor!’ Bruce said, coming out of the lab for a quick coffee. He noticed the god staring at him. He was also wearing his sweater. Cute. ‘You ok?’

‘Banner! Yes, I am fine, I just -’ Thor started. ‘Wanted to ask you something.’

‘Yeah?’ Bruce asked, turning around and sipping his coffee.

Thor reached into the hoodies’ pocket, carefully taking out the phone. As soon as Bruce saw it, he put down the coffee and started fidgeting with his hands.

‘I think you may have left your phone in this sweater, and I -‘

‘Look, Thor, whatever you saw on there doesn’t matter, ok? It’s just weird stuff.’ Bruce said, grabbing the phone and pocketing it.

‘So the playlist? That’s all just’ Thor gestured out with his right arm vaguely. ‘Weird stuff?’

‘Um... you saw the... playlist?’ Bruce whispered, blushing furiously and looking towards the ground.

‘Yes. I wasn’t trying to find personal information, I just was...’ Bruce looked up at Thor, who was now blabbering. ‘Looking through to see what you might have! No, that’s incorrect, I was looking through your phone to - well, in fairness, you should have better security on your phone!’

‘So you think I have a bad sense of security.’ Bruce said.

‘No! I just think that if you didn’t want me looking through your phone than you shouldn’t have left it unlocked!’

‘So you think I should basically close myself off more from people.’

‘No! Banner, I just -‘ Thor tried to explain ‘I just wanted to know why you have a playlist with my face and my name with a lot of love songs!’

Bruce was kind of pale. Thor had been half-shouting for the last part, so it was a little tense. They stood in silence for a couple seconds. Thor started second-guessing everything, going over every word he’d said, almost trying to find every mistake he could.

Thor broke the silence. ‘I - is it because you love me?’ He asked, much quieter than before.

‘Um... I, ah...’ Bruce started. Thor waited for his answer. Either he had just ruined everything, or that word barf had been the best decision of his life. ‘Yeah. I-I love you, Thor. I would’ve told you, but you know, I’m just not good at letting myself feel... anything. Ever.’

Thor walked towards him, so close he could feel Bruce’s breath on his face. ‘Banner.’ He started. ‘I love you, Bruce.’

Thor placed a hand on Bruce’s cheek, hoping that this moment wouldn’t end. ‘Can I kiss you now?’ Thor whispered.

‘Yes, please, Thor.’

Thor leaned in towards Bruce, far enough so their lips were touching, breaths intertwined. It was Bruce who took it all the way, stretching the last bit of the way to press against Thor’s lips, making Thor gasp a little. They stayed like this until the need for air became too much, and they pulled apart, just looking at each other. Finally, Bruce spoke.

‘We should have done this a lot sooner.’

‘Yes.’ Thor agreed, leaning back in and joining their mouths together again.

But it was just so hard to kiss when the both of them were grinning like idiots.
