Graduation day
Graduation day:
Graduating high school was a very happy time for most teens, filling them with a sense a accomplishment and excitement for their next steps in life, and their parents with pride. Peter shared this sentiment too, but there was just one question (fear) in his mind, will his parents
Harry never wanted his father to be there on his graduation day, knowing that he would be present just to look like a good father to the world sickened him. The future heir of oscorp graduation a top STEM school with honours wasn’t a day the media would wave off. But his boyfriend on the other hand had not only wanted but also expected both his parents in attendance, it wouldn’t be as big of a news because of his secondary gender(a fact Harry was also pissed about. His coco would make an amazing CEO, thank you very much). But still, Harry hoped if not tony at least Steve showed up and hopefully bring along Harley(they got along pretty well after the first couple of times).
Peter laughed as Harry picked him up from behind and spun him around the air. They were both dressed up in their caps and gowns, his artist boyfriend had decorated both their caps with two hands with their pinkies intertwined with each other, in the motion of holding hands, A pinky promise. It was ironically beautiful, he loved it.
They both piled in their black Audi and drove over to midtown they left little early because all the graduates were asked to be in hall 20 minutes before the ceremony started. The hall was decorated in a simple classic manner with streamers with the words class of 2010 printed on them.
The ceremony went off without a hitch. Smiling and hugging his dad in front of everyone and taking pictures together like they had the perfect relationship ever made Harry want to hurl. He wished with everything he had that his mom could’ve been here with him, cheering him on. But then he thought about Peter, his poor boyfriend who’s parents who actually love him and are most definitely alive didn’t show up.
His dad wasn’t here. His family wasn’t here! Peter felt like crying. He thought this fight would resolve itself after everyone had some time to cool down, but this time that didn’t seem to be the case. He never thought his dads reaction would be this extreme. His graduation day was something they both had looked forward too. And he was even more hurt that his pops was going along with this! He could to some degree understand why his dad was this mad but pops? No.
“Psst. Petey- Petey!” He heard the familiar voice of the person he lived with for twelve years of his life. Harley! His brother this time donning a denim shirt, denim jacket and denim jeans all paired up with black dress shoes and white socks(internal sigh, they really needed to have that talk). “Harley!” Peter screamed with joy hugging his younger brother tightly to his chest, “how are you here?” “I sneaked off. Dad said I couldn’t come, but he can go screw himself.” Harley said. “Oh harls” Peter said with a laugh. He admits that for most of his life he had hoped that Harley would be a temporary figure in his life, but right now he couldn’t be more glad for him.
“Is Dad still mad?” Peter asked. Harley just shook his head yes.
Peter sighed and said, “I don’t get why it’s thus big if a deal! Do you think he’ll come around eventually?” “I don’t know Pete me and pops tried to convince him but he just refused to listen! I only came here coz pops allowed me plus I kinda missed your sorry butt.” “Hey! I missed you too though.” “I gotta go now pete, tell Harry hi from me Bye, love you!” Peter blew him a kiss in response which Harley made a big show of catching while running off to the car.
Peter still laughing went over to his alpha who was now done with taking pictures with Norman. He threw himself into Harry’s arms. When it was time to leave for the last time at the principals count all the students flung their hats into the air. In midst of the deafening cheers Harry laced his pinky finger with the smaller boys and leaned down for a kiss. The second their lips met everyone else in that auditorium ceased to exist. It was just them Harry and Peter.
