Note
Before you start reading:I changed the twin's age because I wanted them to be teenagers. I know that they were born in 1989, not 1998.Also since Sokovia is not a real country, I have chosen slovak as their native language. I translated everything with Google, so please excuse if there are any mistakes.

the incident

"You know, I actually came up here to ask you and your brother to come to the medical room.", Natasha said after a few more moments of silence.

Wanda whipped her head around to look at Natasha, panic obvious in her eyes. "Why? We don't need medical help, we're fine.", she lied, in hopes of changing the russians mind.

Natasha was quick to raise a calming hand, having expected the younger woman's panic. They had rescued the twins from a mad scientist's lab after all.

"It's okay. Nobody is going to hurt you here. We just want to make sure that you and your brother don't have any serious physical injuries which need to be taken care of.", the Avenger said calmly, while keeping a close eye on Wanda's reactions.

The brunette was torn. On one side she knew that they only wanted to help and make sure they were alright but on the other side she wasn't going to let a doctor lay hands on her for the next centuries minimum.

As if Natasha had read Wanda's mind, again, she added:"If you want, I can stay with you the whole time. I'll make sure that nobody is going to hurt you."

Wanda looked back down, swallowing hard. She knew that they would sooner or later have someone check on their health, so she might as well get it over with.

"Okay.", she finally said, her voice breaking slightly towards the end. She tried to sound strong, but with everything that had happened to her during the last years, she just couldn't bring herself to act strong anymore.

Natasha smiled softly at that, slowly taking Wanda's hand into her own, making sure that the brunette had the chance to pull back if she wanted to. She didn't.

"I'm proud of you. I promise that nobody is going to hurt you.", Natasha said, her voice so convincing that the young witch found herself believing her.

"Can we wait until Pietro is awake again?", Wanda asked, looking back at Natasha, who nodded. "Of course."
So they waited.

When the evening was starting to turn colder and Wanda had shivered a few times already, the two women decided to head back inside.

As they walked down a hallway, Wanda went straight towards the stairs, making Natasha stop in front of the elevator, which would be the faster way down. When the young brunette stopped as well and looked back at her from where she was standing, she decided that taking the stairs would have to do for now.

Considering how much Wanda had already opened up to her, the russian didn't want to push her luck. Instead she made a mental note to ask the teenager about the elevator later.

About halfway down the steps, Wanda suddenly stopped in her tracks, eyes glowing a faint shade of red, though Natasha could've just imagined it.

"What is it?", Natasha asked but could only make out the younger woman cursing under her breath.

Not a second later, Natasha felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. When she pulled it out and answered the call, she was met with chaos.

Clint, who had been the one dialing her number, was trying to make himself heard over angry sokovian-english shouting in the background.

"Nat, please tell me that you found her. Her brother is going nuts!", the archer spoke desperately. Natasha looked at Wanda, whose eyes were colored in a deeper shade of scarlet by now. So she hadn't imagined it. "We're on our way."

Before she could explain what Clint had told her over the phone, she felt a hand on her shoulder. "May I?", the brunette asked, looking at Natasha expectantly.

The russian wasn't sure what Wanda was talking about, but she trusted that the younger girl wouldn't do anything to hurt her so she nodded.

She could barely see Wanda's eyes glowing a bright scarlet red, before she suddenly found herself in the living room area, surrounded by red smoke.

Had Wanda just teleported them?

Although the spy had a lot of questions on her mind she pushed them aside to focus on their current situation.

Pietro, who had obviously woken up, had his hand around Tony's throat, threatening him in a mix of English and Sokovian curse words while Steve was desperately trying to calm down the confused teenager.

"Where the fuck is she?!", the boy threatened, his accent thick. Before Tony, who was doing his best to stay calm, could say anything, Pietro felt his sister's presence entering his mind.

Not a second later her hands wrapped around his wrist and pulled him back, away from Tony, as she stepped between them to look at her brother.

"Som tu, som tu. To je v poriadku, je to v poriadku. Som v bezpečí. (I'm here, I'm here. It's okay. I'm safe.) ", she whispered, letting her twin pull her into his arms. As he processed that his sister was safe and seemingly unharmed, he calmed down, not daring to look at any of the other Avengers.

Tony coughed a few times while Steve immediately went to check up on him. Clint and Natasha exchanged worried glaces. They knew that Pietro was protective over his sister, but choking Tony was next level, even if he had been trapped in his memories.

After the teenage boy had calmed down enough, his sister whispered something to him, which made him scratch the back of his neck. He slowly looked up at Tony and cleared his throat.

"I'm sorry...", he mumbled, while his sister took his hand, encouraging him to go on. "When I woke up and my sister wasn't with me, I kind of forgot where I was and panicked... It won't happen again.", he added, a bit louder this time.

Tony nodded. "It's okay, kid. I understand and I accept your apology.", he said, before his well-known grin took over his face. "You're pretty strong for your age.", he said, trying to lighten the mood. Pietro smiled slightly. "Thanks."

An awkward silence filled the room.
"I uhm... I should go. Sorry, again.", Pietro said after a few moments of uncomfortable silence, looking at his sister. She nodded and let go of his hand.

Not a second later her brother was gone in a rush of blue, the door to the living room area opening and closing as he left.

Wanda watched the door for a few seconds before looking directly at Natasha. Though she was trying to conceal her surprise and shock (unlike Clint, whose jaw nearly hit the floor), Wanda could make out a hint of worry and curiosity, glinting in her eyes.

"You probably have some questions..."
