Chapter 5

Kenny replied with a quick on my way and started driving back to the apartment. He was freaking out about what if they hurt Butters again and tried to take him. All these whats if racking in his brain as he came to a stop light. He took a deep breath. Everything is gonna be okay, Is what Kenny kept thinking to himself. He tapped Karen on the shoulder, and she took her headphone out.

"Okay, so Stan, Kyle, and Butters are there now. Butters is also living with me now, he's having problems with his parents, and they just showed up there. I want you to stay in the car until one of us comes down and gets you, okay?" Kenny said. Karen shook her head no.

"No, Kenny, I am not a baby anymore, and if they see me with you, I can bring the waterworks back, and maybe they will leave quickly. I like Butters, and I know his parents suck, so I wanna help him." Kenny was hesitant but agreed. He had the best little sister. While driving, Karen used her makeup to make her face look bruised.

"Damn, Kare, that looks so real," Kenny said. A few minutes later, they pulled up, and Karen was impressed.

"Huh, I thought you would live in a crack house," Karen commented.

"Shut up, Karen and start crying," Kenny deadpanned. They walked inside and up the stairs. They could hear Kyle talking to Mr. Stotch.

"He is a legal adult. He does not have to live with you anymore, so fuck off," Kyle said with hatred. Kenny was super impressed. They walked closer and came into sight to see Mr. and Mrs. Stoch outside Kenny's door, with Kyle blocking their way in. Kenny acted surprised when he spoke.

"What the fuck is going on here?" Kenny asked while having his arm over Karen's shoulder. She even put Kenny's jacket on for more effect. Mr. Stotch looked over and saw Kenny and Karen. He stormed over and punched Kenny in the face. Okay, that might have actually broken my jaw, Kenny thought. He pushed Karen towards Kyle and Kyly ran to her and pulled her behind him. Mr. Stotch was yelling at Kenny and kept on punching him.

"This is all your fault," he screamed. "You gave him a place to stay when he should've returned home and faced punishment." Kenny wanted to yell at him that it was his fault. He hit his son and made him feel worthless. He grounded him over and over for the littlest things. He made Butters feel useless and stupid. Kenny was just there to pick up the pieces. Mrs. Stotch was crying, and she ran down the stairs. Kenny didn't fight back. He knew one of his neighbors would hear and call the cops. Mr. Stotch would be arrested and stuck in jail until Monday. As if right on cue, his neighbor, an old lady who had 7 cats opened the door and gasped. She grabbed her phone and dialed 911. Mr. Stotch started kicking Kenny. Kyle pulled Karen into the apartment and brought her to the couch to sit next to Stan. She was crying for real now, and Stan just hugged her. Stan and Kyle have always been there for Karen, just like Kenny. Kyle told Butters what happened, and he tried to run to the door. Kyle stopped him.

"You can't go out there. If your dad sees you, he will take you. Don't worry about Kenny. This isn't that bad to some of the stuff that has happened to him before," Kyle said mournfully. Butters gasped and tried to go out, but Kyle stopped him again. He put Butters back on the couch and Butters just kept chain-smoking cigarettes. Kyle went out there, and he saw flashing blue lights outside. He let out a breath of relief. Finally, this asshole can go to jail. Kyle thought that I better text my dad and tell him what happened and not represent Mr. Stotch on Monday.

The cops came up, pulled Mr. Stotch away from Kenny, and put him in handcuffs. They led him down the stairs and into the back of the car. Mrs. Stitch was outside the building crying and talking to an officer. After a few minutes, she headed towards her car and drove away. Kenny nor Kyle knew where she was going, but as long as it was away from here, they were okay with that.

Kenny was not as injured as he thought. He had no broken ribs, and his jaw wasn't either. He was just bruised a lot. The cops said he was lucky a rib didn't break and puncture a lung. The cops told Kenny he could press charges for assault, but Kenny wasn't sure what Butters wanted to do. The cops left and Kenny told Kyle to get the beer out of the truck as he went inside. As soon as Butters saw Kenny he ran over and hugged him gently. He didn't want to hurt Kenny any more than he already was. He was crying into Kenny's chest and apologizing. Kenny pulled Butters away from him.

"I'm Okay, Butters. Nothing was broken. I promise," Kenn said. Butters wiped his tears and hugged Kenny again before they made their way over to the couch.

"So, uh, no offense, but why the fuck is Karen here?" Kyle asked when he returned to the apartment with the 48 cans of beer Kenny bought.

"Cartman told my parents I had an apartment, a truck, and multiple jobs. My dad said Karen now has to live with me," Kenny replied. He got up, grabbed the frozen peas from the fridge, and put them on his jaw.

"Karen, the bathroom is over there. You'll sleep on the couch later tonight, but for now, you can lie in my bed and use my laptop. The boys and I are gonna get drunk and smoke and forget about this shitty fucking day," Kenny said.

"Actually," Karen started, taking the joint that Butters started smoking from his mouth. "I'm gonna smoke this with you guys, and then we're gonna put on a movie and relax because all of you look like shit." Kenny looked over at Karen and then shrugged.

"Fine, but if you start smoking cigarettes, I'll kill you," Kenny said. Karen giggled, grabbed the controller, and put on a movie. Halfway through the film, Karen fell asleep on Kenny's shoulder. He carefully got up, picked up Karen, and moved her to his bed. He put noise-canceling headphones on her and turned back to everyone else.

"Now that Karen is asleep and with noise-canceling headphones, we can party," Kenny smiled, walked over, grabbed a beer, and started shotgunning it. The guys cheered him on, and Kenny finished the beer in 7 seconds.

"Dude, that has got to be some kind of record," Kyle said as he got up and started shotgunning his own. By 11, they were all drunk and blasting music. Kenny walked over to the freezer, put the peas back, and grabbed his bottle of vodka and 4 shot glasses.

"Time for shots!" Kenny yelled. He poured their shots wobbly and passed them out.

"To the best fucking friends a guy for ask for," Kenny said as they all cheered and threw back the shot. They kept drinking and drinking until it was about 12:30 am. Kenny got up and went to his closet. He grabbed Cards Against Humanity and put it down on the coffee table.

"Let's play bitches," Kenny said and sat down. Since Butters was not as drunk as the rest, he grabbed the box and started handing out the cards.

"Alright, the first one is, 'I got 99 problems but blank ain't one' make me laugh fucker," Butters said with a giggle.

Kenny looked at his cards and placed one down. A few minutes later, Stan and Kyle did the same.

"The first one, 'I got 99 problems, but the pleasure of watching my boys wolf down my pot roast and scamper into the woods aint one' Holy shit," Butters said laughing. "Alright, next, 'I got 99 problems but the holy bible ain't one' Oh my god. Finally, 'I got 99 problems, but slappin' dat pussaaayyyyyy ain't one' That's the one what the fuck," Butters said while cracking up.

"That's mine fuckheads," replied Stan. He took his card and put it down.

"Next one is, 'Why is Brett so sweaty?" Butters asked. Stan, Kyle, and Kenny took a few minutes before putting their cards down. Butters grabbed the cards.

"Working in an Amazon warehouse, An ambitious woman who wears pants, and Taking a dump. I'm gonna go with taking a dump," Butters said. Kyle groaned, and Kenny whooped and grabbed his card.

"This is so fun," Kenny said drunkenly.

"Yeah, it is, dude," Kyle replied. He poured some shots, and the boys cheered again. They took about 7 shots in less than two hours and were all blacked out. Kyle yawned, and so did Stan. Kenny got up and grabbed some sweats for them to change into. Butters got up, got his pjs, and just changed with the other guys. Kenny put on a stupid movie and went to lie down, but Karen was there. He groaned and picked her up gently, and put her on the couch. He grabbed a blanket and a pillow for her and got her situated. When he was done, he leaned down and kissed her forehead. Butters cooed from the other side of the room and giggled. Kenny glared and that made Butters giggle more. He grabbed the smokes from the coffee table and got into bed while Kyle and Stan entered Butters's. Kenny went to the fridge and grabbed four waters. He chucked Kyles and Stans at them, and one of the bottles hit Stan in the balls.

"Mother fucker," Stan hissed. The others started cracking up as Kenny went to his side of the bed and got under the covers.

"Butters, pass me a cig please," Kenny said with his eyes closed and his hand opened. Butters passed him one and the lighter. Within minutes Stan and Kyle were fast asleep. Butters rolled a joint, and he and Kenny smoked it.

"I'm sorry today sucked," Kenny whispered to Butters.

"It's alright, Kenny, your day sucked too. I wonder how my parents found out where I was," Butters said. They both thought about it and looked at each other.

"Cartman," They said in unison. Kenny groaned and passed the joint back to Butters to ash it.

"Why can't the fat fuck just mind his own business," Kenny hissed.

"Because he's an asshole who likes to see people suffer," Butters responded. That got a laugh out of it, Kenny. A few minuets passed of peacful silence and smoking filling the room.

"Kenny, did you lock the door?" Butters asked. Kenny groaned again. Butters laughed and got up. Kenny heard all three locks click into place and relaxed. Butters got back into bed and rolled over to face Kenny.

"Goodnight, Kenny," Butters said sleepily.

"Night, Butters," Kenny replied just as sleepily. With that, both boys passed out within minutes. They still had more problems to deal with tomorrow, but that was a future problem.
