Summary
This is a WIP that i have rewritten at LEAST 3 times. it's an interesting take on an old-time slave/master relationship, action, and political stuff. i am no good at summaries, you will just have to read and see how it turns out. this is an ongoing project and I am in the process of fixing the chapters, it is very different from the original but I kept the parts that I like in the original in this BUT it was more fluent and changed to first person view as opposed to third.

Chapter1-Past and Present

Chapter 1:

Past and Present

By Royal Decree, all breeds of Arcadia are required to report any Half-Breeds to the High Council. A Conditioner will then be sent out to investigate the reported accusation. If the accusation that was reported is correct, the Conditioner is given the task to locate, capture, and banding the reported Half-Breed. The acclaimed Half-Breed(s) are then taken to a Reconditioning Facility for Reconditioning and Training. They will then be placed on the market for purchase by those interested in acquiring a slave for their Estate(s) or Market(s).

As the law states the owners of these Half-Breeds do not have the option to free their Half-Breed slaves, they will be considered property. As part of the owner's estate. Half-Breeds are to live out their entire life in servitude and then either "terminated" or relinquished after they no longer prove useful to their owner. If an owner wishes not to "terminate" the property, they are required to relinquish the slave to a Reconditioning Facility for Reconditioning, re-training, and purchase by another interested buyer. They are not allowed to Gift a slave to another estate without first placing the slave back through reconditioning and training. The Slave will be coded specifically to their owner by the means of their slave bands. Any Gifted slave will be required to be mind-wiped by a Trainer at the Reconditioning Facility and retrained in a specific task before they will be allowed to be Gifted to another owner and considered part of the new owner's estate.

If a Half-Breed is discovered or reported while still being conceived, the Bearer will be required to stay at a Reconditioning Facility during their Bearing until the child is born. During their stay at the Reconditioning Facility, they are not allowed to communicate with the Sire or seek any outside help to contact them without a Psychic Conditioner from the Reconditioning Facility. They are granted one Psychic call every two weeks throughout their bearing time, which will be monitored by a Psychic Conditioner if the sire wishes to speak with the bearer. If any conversation takes place that is not within specified perimeters, the link will be severed and the Bearer will have to serve out the rest of his or her bearing with no contact outside of the Reconditioning Facility Employ or inhabitants.

The Bearer and Sire will be told to relinquish all rearing rights to the Half-Breed child to the Reconditioning Facility once they are born. The Bearer and Sire will not be granted any contact with the Half-Breed child and will not have any say in their rearing while in the custody of the Reconditioning Facility. If the Bearer and Sire refuse to relinquish their rearing rights they will be put on trial for Attempted Treason and the High Council will decide their sentence. If they are found guilty of Attempted Treason, the sentence can be severe and could lead to their execution. Once the child is born and rearing rights are relinquished to the Reconditioning Facility, the Bearer will be returned to their Division or Sub-division without a sentence.

Ruling King in the Realm of Arcadia

Treize Khushrenada

Odin's POV:

I, Odin Lowe, Lord of subdivision (1)Hana to Hata no Kuni of Brancia, could not stand this royal decree! But unfortunately, like all the other members of the realm, I am required to uphold the Royal Decree and report any acts against the King to the High Council or the King himself. Oh, how I wished I could just ignore the decrees and laws made pertaining to the Half-Breeds. But I knew... If I were to act against the King's decree or was accused of doing so, my title and lands would be stripped from me and my family. I could not bear to put my only heir, Lord Heero Yuy, through that hardship. I could not bear putting my son through the humiliation of losing his title and his birthright to my land and estate.

I knew my son held similar distaste toward the decrees and laws, but Heero understood the reasons why I could not act out against them. Nothing could be done to change the decrees or laws during this time, not unless the rightful reigning family magically came back from the dead or was magically found. I just wished that my son was not forced to live in this absolute monarchy of a Realm!

I was Sired by Ein Yuy but I was not given my Sire's last name, Yuy, because my Bearer was a Half-Breed named Carano Lowe, a male Concubine in my Sire's harem before he life-mated with Angelina and was demanded to relinquish all but one of his four concubines to the Reconditioning Facility. From what I was told, Carano was given to Ein by the Marquess Dermail Catalonia as a war prize when his family overthrew the Peacecraft family. The only reason that I was given land was on a promise that I would uphold the decree that Dermail's Grandson instated at his coronation and the fact that I was distantly related to the family through Ein. I knew not to question the reasoning for the gift of land from Marquess Dermail considering my bearer was not Angelina. I was Ein's “dirty little secret” from before he was life-mated to her.

I closed my eyes and smiled. Carano was a very handsome Half-Breed. I could recall his brilliant cobalt eyes and his dark brown, almost black hair that tumbled down to the middle of his back. I remembered how he would always fuss over his hair and preferred to keep it up in a high ponytail, clasped with a golden band with brilliant sapphires set in it. He had the most beautiful smile and such a gentle disposition.

my brow furrowed and my smile quickly became a frown. I supposed that was the reason why Ein was partial to him. He was easily manipulated and didn't put up a fight. I remembered, at times Carano would walk with a limp, or would be covered in bruises and cuts that could not be explained. Any time I asked my Bearer about the injuries, he would just smile his brilliant smile and tell me everything was fine, kiss me on my crown, and then walk away.

On the day of my 12th faze day, I woke up and went to find my Bearer. Carano always planned a special event for me on my faze day, I looked everywhere and he was nowhere to be found. When I asked my Sire about it, Ein flicked his wrist and stated Carano had served his purpose and that he had him sent to the reconditioning facility to have him terminated. I remembered spending the whole day in my room crying for my bearer to be returned. From that point on I vowed not to become a monster like my Sire.

To this day I still strive to find a way to abolish the decrees on slavery that the young Treize had put in place. In my opinion, no breed deserved to be treated as property, they were just as real as any other breed in the realm, regardless of what their abilities were or what they could do.

I knew for certain, the decree was insisted upon by Treize's Grandfather. Treize, at the time of his sire's passing, was 10 fazes old and he along with Angelina, was left in the hands of his Grandfather and the rest of the High Council. Angelina was not allowed to rule without a promised king, therefore the responsibility fell on the head of the very malleable Treize. Since Angelina never remarried and just took Marquess Hundeldt Catalonia, Dermail's son, as a Breeding pair the reign stayed in the hands of Treize and he looked to Dermail as if he were his blood grandfather, regardless there was no relation outside for the breed-pairing between his son and Marchioness Angelina. Marquess Dermail Catalonia now held a chair in the High Council for his “years of servitude to the reigning Khushrenada family”. The only reason I was granted permission from the High Council to give my offspring Heero the name “Yuy” was due to his strong, dominant, pure-blooded coding and abilities that he obtained through the family bloodline. Heero was one of the few that had multiple talents that were tested and confirmed. Unfortunately, that made him a rare commodity.

With a sigh, I opened my brilliant cobalt eyes and leaned forward, placed my elbows on my desk, and ran my long fingers through my shoulder-length blonde hair in thought, //I really need to stop dwelling on the past and start thinking about the future and how I can make it better for the future breeds of the realm...all of them...//

I let out another sigh and sat up in my chair. I straightened my long, sallow arms above my head in a much-needed stretch before resuming the documents that sat in a never-ending pile on my desk. My job was never done, so it seemed.

KNOCK KNOCK

"Enter,” I said without looking up from my papers.

Wufei, my son's personal guard, stepped in and quietly shut the door behind him. His raven hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail at the base of his neck and dropped over his right shoulder as he bowed at the waist before straightening.

"I am sorry, am I interrupting something important?" Wufei questioned.

I waved my hand in a dismissive manner and shook my head, "No, nothing that needs to be addressed right at this very moment. Was there something you needed Wufei?" I stated without looking up from my documents.

Wufei bowed again, straightened, and slowly approached my desk, "While the Lord and I were training, we were approached by a messenger from the Conditioning Facility. " Wufei pulled the letter from his unbuttoned, informal vest, "It didn't say who it was addressed for. I was not sure if that meant you or Lord Yuy, so I thought it best that you received it first."

I looked up from my documents and furrowed my brow in confusion, "From the Conditioning Facility?" I took the sealed letter from his olive hand. "Strange, I don't have any current business with them at the moment. I wonder what it could be about..."

I broke the seal and glanced at the message before tossing it down on the corner of my desk. Leaning back in my chair, I closed my eyes, and rubbed the bridge of my nose, "It's for Heero. It looks like he is being called back to his station. They have a Half-Breed in the facility that needs to be assigned to a Conditioner and he is the only one right now without a current charge."

With a shake of his head, Wufei crossed his arms and sighed, "He's not going to be happy about this. He was promised a week's leave for rest from the large workload he has been carrying these past few months. He hasn't even had more than three days pass since he was granted the leave." Wufei sighed again before picking up the discarded message off of my desk and placing it back in his vest.

I gave him a look of understanding, "I feel he takes on too much for that wretched place. I understand his reasoning behind taking on such a position, but I wish he would have picked something else that would better use his unique talents."

Wufei nodded at my response, "I am in agreement with you, but we both know when he chooses to do something, nobody can stop him."

I continued, "Being a Pure-Blood and both a psychic and a reader is rare among Conditioners, that is why they give him the workload they do. I fear that Having to be in the thick of such anger, pain, and aggression he will lose what little light that's left in him. I just wish he would, for his health, find some happiness before he is completely consumed."

I bent over my desk with a frown firmly on my face and went back to working on my documents, "Make sure you get that message to him and, Wufei, have Heero inform the facility on their messenger. From the sounds of how he presented the message to you and him, he needs to be trained in deliveries again. He should have known who the message was for and been able to provide that information to you upon arrival. You may go now." with a flick of my wrist, Wufei was formally dismissed.

I imagine, with nothing else more to say on the subject, he bowed to me and made his way out of my study as quietly as he had entered, leaving me to my unending pile of work.

Heero's POV

With my eyes closed, I stepped out of the lavatory drying my shaggy, dark brown hair. I sighed and opened my cobalt eyes as I approached my four-poster bed. Slowly putting the towel down on the chest at the foot of my bed, I slid onto the red, silken sheets to lie on my side. I propped my head up and leaned over to place lazy kisses along Karyme's soft, fair-skinned neck. She was partially lucid, but still in the space between after our ministrations. I reached out and moved her hair behind her ear so I could look into her crystal blue, half-lidded eyes.

I gave her a few minutes before reaching out to her Psyche, //Karyme...//

She shifted slightly and took a deeper breath than the shallow ones she was before the fog cleared from her eyes. “Do you have need of me, My Lord?”

I whipped the stray tear from her eye that she had not noticed had fallen and shook my head silently.

She reached her hand out to touch the side of my face, and I stopped her hand before it connected. I slightly shook my head. //Do not touch Karyme...do not act so friendly with me. Just because your half-sibling and I are good friends, does not give you royalties.//

Her eyes locked with my cold stare for a stubborn moment before she pulled her hand out of my firm grasp and her eyes dropped the level to my chin. With a shake of my head, I got up from my sheets and put on my pants, and laced them up.

//Do not test my patience, Karyme...// She knew better than to look me in the eye like she had. I sometimes wonder if the Half-Breeds that my father had, have been trained thoroughly. Some seemed to have slipped in their mannerisms.

“I did not mean to offend, My Lord,” I felt the phantom touch of her fingertips sliding down my back, inches from touching my skin. “Is there anything else that you wish of me, My Lord?”

I shook my head slightly before pulling my shirt on and lacing up the front. Without looking at her, I walked over to grab my vest that was thrown over the back of the chair in my room. “Rest. I may have use for you later.”

I heard her let out a soft sigh as her skin slid across my silken sheets. Looking out of the corner of my eye, I could feel my blood rising. She neglected to cover herself up. She was laying with the sheets around her waist, supple breasts pressed into the mattress as she stared with a slight look of hunger in her eye. I couldn't ignore it and didn't see a need to. With a slight growl, I turned and removed my shirt again before devouring her plump lips. I broke the psychic link between our minds before thinking, //I should not indulge in this behavior...// I bit her bottom lip and let all thoughts leave my mind as my hands found what they were seeking.

Wufei's POV

Arriving at Heero's suite, I lightly knocked before letting myself into his sitting room. Seeing the Bedroom door closed, I shook my head when I heard the slight grunts and light moans. I couldn't believe his stamina. We had just finished an intense training session, and he still had the energy to perform.

Making myself comfortable, since I didn't have a clue when they started, I walked over to the personal bar to pour myself a tumbler of Luna Freya. Taking a sip and letting it burn down my throat, I took a seat in the high-back chair by the fireplace to wait.

I was not sure how long I waited when the door to his bedroom opened. When I looked over, He stepped out and was finishing up the laces on his pants and shirt. He didn't notice I was there until our eyes met. His steps faltered slightly before he nodded to me in greeting and made his way over to the bar to make a drink for himself.

He mixed his drink with his back to me as he spoke, "Hn, I didn't hear you come in.”

"I couldn't imagine why," I said sarcastically before I looked into the slightly opened door of his room. I spotted the female lying with the sheets around her waist, on her stomach, practically glowing from the aftermath. I couldn't tell who it was from what little I could see.

Heero finished mixing his drink, took a seat in the other chair, and stared into the fire as he sipped from his tumbler. He looked at me from the corner of his eye and I raised my eyebrow in question.

“Karyme,”

I sighed and placed my glass on the table between us. "She's subservient and close to her fertility week."

laying his head back with his eyes closed, he shrugged, "She took her contraceptives today."

I gave him a disapproving look. "Today did she? How about yesterday, or the day before that? Did you contact her and let her know you were returning to your father's estate on leave?"

I shook my head. “Her taking it 'today' doesn't matter. It takes at least a week of continuous dosing for it to be effective. She is close to her fertility week and you know those contraceptives have less of the desired effect closer to their fertility time.”

I sat back in my chair as I continued, "Your father will not be pleased. He has already instructed you to stay away from her until after she is past her fertility time. She doesn't have your breed code in her coding. A conception with her would cause a Half-Breed and you know it."

"Wufei, you are my personal guard. If I wanted your wisdom, I would ask for it." came his nonchalant reply.

His response aggravated me. "I am also your friend. Do you want to contribute to the problem? Would you want your child to be subjected to that kind of life?" I motioned to the room to emphasize my point.

Heero sighed, opened his cobalt eyes slowly, and finally turned to look at me. "It doesn't matter what I think, that's what it's like right now."

"You could prevent adding to the problem by keeping away from the ones that are close to their fertility week. I know you fancy her. Does Marquess Quatre know you are sleeping with his Half-Breed sister?"

Heero shrugged, “why would he? The rules state they have no contact with the offspring that are sired and end up half-breed. He knows he has 27 sisters out there somewhere. He is not naïve and knows his father's habits.”

“Why not seek Jarex or even Peneli? Both would benefit from the act.”

“The half incubus and his sister?” he shook his head. “Both are not to my taste. Jarex likes to take charge and Peneli is insatiable.” he took a sip of his tumbler. “I just needed to release some pent-up energy. She was more than willing and happy to serve. "

I shook my head. “they are all 'happy to serve'. Karyme is an entertainer, Jarex and Peneli are concubines... they all would have serviced you if you had asked.”

“As I stated, Jarex and Peneli like to take charge, and they take pleasure in the 'punishments' that they receive... hence why they act out. They get just as a 'feed' off aggression as they do passion. Mix the two together, they are in complete bliss.”

He turned to give me his full attention, resting his elbow on the arm of his chair and his chin in his palm, “I know you didn't come to my rooms to berate me on my choice of bed warmers, what did you need.”

I shook my head with a sigh and picked up my drink. "The message was for you." I took the message out of my best and handed it out to him.

Heero took the message with his free hand and opened it. I gave him a minute to read the message. His Jaw worked as he crinkled up the message and threw it into the dying fire.

“No, I was told I had a week.” He responded in a monotone voice before taking a long drink from his glass.

"I know Heero. It's not the type of news you wanted to hear. But you know, with your skills, it must be a seriously difficult case for them to request you back early."

“I have the right to my leave.”

“Heero,” I began, “you cannot refuse the call because it wasn't a request. Return or face the High Council for your negligent behavior.”

We both sat in silence, knowing it was inevitable and that his leave had been cut short.

As if summoned, Karyme stepped out of his room, in nothing but her gossamer lace cover, and collected the empty tumbler from his hand. I could tell he was communicating with her psychically when she did a motion of understanding and walked back over to the bar to refill his glass.

“There is no way around this Heero, you know as well as I that if you do not return to your post, the Council will call upon you and ask for an explanation, and simply stating 'I was taking my promised leave' will not save your skin. Because of your Sire's background, you know as well as I he would pay for your nonattendance. Step out of line and they will do the deed they promised for your future estate and gladly offer it to someone of higher status.”

Karyme returned with his drink, got on her knees in front of him, and held out his drink as she bowed her head. I watched as he stared at her for a minute before she gracefully got off her knees and straddled his lap and pressed the drink to his lips.

I rolled my eyes, “must you do that? You are just as capable of drinking your own tumbler.” Heero took the tumbler from Karyme's hands and set it on the table.

He looked at me from the corner of his eye and gave a slight smirk, “If it makes you uncomfortable then leave and forget of this conversation. I have better things to do with my time than discuss this nonsense.”

I have had about enough. With a stern look, I got up, removed Karyme from his lap, and put her back on her knees, “that is where you are to be while in the company of another of higher status.”

She pulled her wrist out of my grasp and stared at my chin in defiance, “My Lord had asked me to serve his drink, I did as I was commanded.”

“He is not your lord, Odin Lowe is. I strongly suggest you follow his orders and stay away from the young Lord as I am sure you were told. Shall I speak with the Lord and let him know of your disobedience?”

I could see the fear of realization come to her eyes as she swallowed hard, realizing her mistake. “I apologize, I had forgotten my place,” she stood and gracefully bowed before leaving Heero's quarters.

Heero sat unfazed as he sipped from his tumbler, “I still do not wish to discuss the issue at hand.”

I figured at this point I might as well leave him to his brooding. I knew he wouldn't go against a direct order, regardless of his wants. “I will make the arrangements for everything to be ready for departure tomorrow morning.” Giving a bow, I made my way out of his chambers and back to the barracks to ready for the trip.

Heero's POV:

Despite Wufei's warning, after he left I waited a few moments before I went to retrieve Karyme, but she was nowhere to be found. I cannot believe he, my guard, acted as if he was of higher standing in the household than I. I was the heir to the estate, my word is just as good as my Sires on his grounds.

Seeing as my search turned up fruitless, I went into my quarters to handle some of my documents, only to find a large leather binder on my desk, //What does the High Council want of me this time...//

After opening the binder and seeing the first page, I was furious! I didn't even bother with reading the rest of the file before tying it back closed and storming out of my office. How could he go ahead with this without consulting me? Or even considering if I would take part in this. I shook my head and banged on his door. I didn't even wait for his response before I stormed into his office and threw the leather binder on his desk in front of him.

"What is the meaning of this, Sire!"

With a sigh, Odin looked up from his documents. "First, you will address me in a respectful manner. When has it ever been okay for you to just barge into my office without knocking?"

"Do not start with me Sire, I am 23 fazes old, I am not a child that is to be reprimanded, explain!"

He sighed. "I wouldn't treat you like a child if you were not acting like one. Control yourself and take a seat." He motioned to the chair in front of his desk.

I continued to pace the floor for several strides before sitting down. In a monotone voice and with my face blank, I took a breath before asking again, "Explain..."

Odin set down his quill and steeped his fingers on his desk. “A request was presented to the High Council by Duke Darlain on behalf of his adopted offspring, Relena. She fancies you.” he sat back in his chair and continued, “She is a decent Fae, if not a little spoiled. She requested that she be put in a breed-pairing with you. With your strong coding and unique capabilities, they sanctioned the pairing.”

“I am not their science experiment. What are they hoping to gain from this?” I questioned in anger.

“They are hoping for a successful... conception... between the two of you. As you know, you will need an heir to keep the lands they are granting you. If you agree to the pairing, the deed to the estate in the sub-division (2) Yama no Kuni would be yours. The reason they want you to secure an heir prior to getting the estate is that it has passed through several hands. They want to see what your seed will rear and hopefully secure another... unique... conditioner.”

“On the border of Reed Twist? That was not the original estate they promised me. They promised me an estate and land in Brancia, not on the border.”

I heard him sigh and watched as he rubbed the ridge of his nose. “This is what they are offering. Take her as a Breed-pairing, conceive, and get the estate and lands they promised you. I know it is not the original or desired area, but if you deny this pairing it's possible, they may resend the offer together and you will be waiting... a very long time for another offer to come along.”

I growled and gripped the arms of the chair. “I do not wish to conceive an offspring this early. I have yet to even experience what others with my title have. I may have access to your...property...while I am here, but I have yet to have my own.”

His eyes became stony as he sat forward and rested his elbows on his desk, “You mean like how you have 'indulged' yourself in Karyme? Even though I had told you not to? If they heard a word of your 'indulgence' in my 'property' they would insist on a life-mating. You are 23 fazes and have no business 'indulging' in anything. You are to take orders and follow them without question at your age. They do not want your bloodline sullied, they want it pure and passed down to create future, strongly coded rarities they may use for the 'future of the realm'. You would do good by signing your name, and I will send the documents to them for finalizing.”

I stood up in my chair and slammed my palms on his desk. “Do not tell me you wish this of me. You are strongly against their decrees and the way they are ruling. Do not force this on me.”

He sighed again and shook his head before turning the document around and handing me a quill, “I am not in agreement with their ways but they are the rules as they stand, sign the papers, and be done with this conversation and disobedience. That is an order coming from your Sire, not your Lord.”

My jaw tightened as I took the quill and made eye contact, “I will do as you request but I have some conditions that you are to present to the High Council. They are to give me the estate before I agree to this breed-pairing. I will not 'court' this Fae while in your estate. Advise them there will be a need for staffing. To start I wish to procure a Healer, a head cook and assistant, enough housekeepers to do the upkeep on the estate and get it ready for inhabitants, and the right to my own harem.

I watched as he thought over my requests and nodded, “Do you have any in mind.”

“None at this time, I wish for the right to choose them from the facility while I am attending to my duties there with this... charge... they have insisted I handle immediately.”

“the demands are plausible. Now, sign the papers and I will send your demands with the documents to be considered.”

against my better judgment, I signed the documents with my signature before returning the leather binder to his upturned hand.

"I will take my leave, I have a few things to attend to before turning in for the night."

He nodded and made a dismissive motion with his free hand, "I expect to see you in the morning before you leave so we can finalize these documents. With that said, I need to return to my duties, good eve Heero."

I bowed and turned to leave his office without another word, leaving him to the terms that I had requested.

Once I returned to my room I was at a loss. Most of my things were still in my chest from my return. I was still furious with the recent demands that had been put on me and couldn't find an outlet. After pacing my chambers for a full 10 minutes I decided that my energy could be put to better use and made my way to the barracks. //I might as well get in some more training... //

When I arrived at the training rooms there was nobody around, good. I didn't much care for audiences when I was this...emotional. I lit a few of the sconces in the room with a flick of my hand and grabbed one of the training swords since I neglected to grab mine in my haste to leave my chambers.

I needed to find my center. I couldn't function at my full potential without it, especially with my multiple talents, they tend to react to my anger or frustration and I really didn't need to burn down half the barracks in my fury. Most don't know this about me, apart from those that I allow to, that I do feel, despite my schooled features and my stony stares, and I feel deeply; deep enough that it messes with my equilibrium and my talents. If I get too angered things tend to catch fire or my psyche lashes out, causing discomfort to severe pain to those around me within my radius. That is why I chose to be a conditioner, although it isn't right, I could take my pent-up emotional imbalance and project it onto those in my charge to get the desired outcome.

I don't know how long I was going until I felt a hand come down lightly on my shoulder and I almost cut it off. Thankfully I recognized it was Wufei. I was breathing heavily, and I felt the sweat pouring off my face and down between my shoulder blades.

“I think the dummy has had quite enough.” He stated as he took the blade out of my shaky grasp.

I took a moment to get my breathing under control before stalking over to the nearby bench to sit down and wipe the sweat from my brow. Wufei followed me and sat down while I collected myself.

“What, dare I ask, has you down here beating on a defenseless dummy at this hour? We are due to leave here in a couple of hours.” He questioned.

“Nothing is going as I planned. I am called back earlier than expected to take on yet another charge and my sire accepted a breed-pairing on my behalf without consulting me on it until earlier this evening.”

“Breed-Pairing? With who, if I may ask?”

“A Female fae by the name of Relena Darlian. I do not even recall the name. My Sire made it sound as if we had met before. If we did, I do not recall when or where.” I finished with the towel and set it to the side with a frustrated sigh.

He nodded slightly. “You had met her once or twice before when you were about 17 fazes. She attended your ceremony when you finished your conditioner's training and she attended your 21 Faze Day celebration. Do you not recall?”

I shook my head and rested my forehead on my upturned palms. “I don't like celebrations, most of the people he introduced me to are just a blur of faces.”

With a sigh, he leaned back against the wall. “She was the young blonde with blue eyes and a slight frame, maybe a few fazes younger than you. I believe this year was her 21st faze. You honestly do not remember her?”

I shook my head again and ran my hands through my hair, trying to put a face to his description of her.

“Did you pay any attention when your father was introducing you to the attendance?” he asked in frustration.

“Why would I? I was 21 fazes, hades, I don't even care now. My father is nowhere close to fading and as it stands, I will not inherit his estates soon. I am being given my own estate and land to overlook, the sub-division (2)Yama no Kuni.”

Wufei looked at me with confusion, “Near Reed Twist? That isn't the same as what they were offering before. Did they explain the reason for the change?”

I shook my head. “Just that I needed to agree to the breed-pair with Lady Relena and conceive an heir. Sire believes they agreed to the pairing because of my bloodline, lineage, and coding. I didn't bother to ask about her coding or even her race.”

Wufei shook his head with a silent laugh.

What is it he thought was so funny? I glared at him and all he did was chuckle a little louder. “What is so funny?”

“You, Heero. You would know this if you would have paid the slightest attention to her when she was introduced. She practically fawned over you for over an hour and tried to make a connection, but all she could get out of you was a grunt. She eventually gave up and stomped off in a huff.”

“When was this?” I was trying to recall the meeting, but nothing presented itself.

He shook his head in disbelief. “Your 21st faze celebration. I was stuck chauffeuring you around, with so many dignitaries there, your father felt it necessary to have extra security.”

I gave up trying to recall the female and shook my head. “It doesn't matter. I agreed to the pairing and made some demands of my own. I am stuck with this breed-pairing until I give the High Council what they want.”

“It does no good to dwell on it then,” He patted me on the back in a friendly manner, “Get some rest, we have at least a three-day journey ahead of us, plenty of time to dwell on it.”

With a nod of agreement, I stood up from my seat, as did he, and we went our separate ways for the evening. //I hope I don't regret my decision on this// I thought to myself as I made my way back to my chambers for a few hours of needed sleep before our departure.

A/N:

I would like to clarify a few things:

The Male Fae in this story does, indeed, have the capabilities to conceive.

Gestation time, when a child is conceived, depends on how strong or weak the Fae's coding is. It could last anywhere between 6 months to 9 months.

Female Fae has a normal gestation time. When a female bears it tends to last the full 9 months regardless of how strong or weak the coding is.

Both male and female Fae in this story has a "fertility time". This is similar to a period.

This is the third time that I have rewritten this story. Some parts stayed the same, and others I omitted due to the content just being “filler”. It was not needed for the storyline. This story is going to be more centered around the rules and decrees as they are now. In the future (if I ever finish this one) I may do a sequel that would go more into the governing and politics of my fantasy realm and change them.

If you have read previous versions you will notice that I did not include the vocabulary or the politics, I felt I lost a lot of potential readers due to the long introduction. I also have changed the POV from third person to first person. I am still new to the first-person POV so pardon me if I mess up on tenses or go too much into detail on what they are doing. (never was good with Phoenix lol)

Let me know what you think, all feedback is welcome but please keep it constructive.
