Hope comes with the dawn
Summary
Endings are overrated - what about beginnings?Middle-Earth has grown old. The time of men is over, and the land is empty, except for the few who have been left behind, including an almost-goddess who was second on Arda and is tired of the endless bleakness that it has transformed into. The Valar have not been active, so she takes things into her own hands. This story is very canon-deviant and I am fully aware of that- I just wanted to know what Arda would look like, reborn.Oh, and there might be an Arwen/OFC ship in there too because this fandom has no F/F ships.
Note
I own nothing you recognise and am cheerfully ignoring the canon.

NOTICE

So, I'd like to clear some things up at this point before people start getting confused about how this story relates to Tolkein's lore.

As is evident, this fic is not particularly canon-compliant, and it will probably get even less compliant as it goes on.

A quick run-down of why this is:

- In Tolkien's works, he writes that the end of Arda will be as a result of a battle against Melkor (or Morgoth, depending on what name you prefer) in which he will be defeated.

- During this battle, many things will happen: the elves will bear arms against Melkor and Tulkas, Fionwë and Túrin will be his main antagonists. The silmarils will be collected and restored to Yavanna, who will break them and restore the light of the Two Trees. Eärendel returns to fight in the battle, and the elves will be released from the Halls of Mandos.

- This battle is called Dagor Dorath, meaning "Battle of All Battles".

- After this, Arda will be rebuilt and the "lands that lie under the waves shall rise again"

As is probably obvious, that is not what has happened in this fic. Instead, it is set in a time after the hobbits and dwarves have died out, after all the elves have left the shores of Middle Earth for Valinor, and after (and this is my own speculation) men have died out. You see, I figured that men would rule as the dominant race in Middle Earth for a while, and invent skyscrapers and machinery and such - just like how theres a theory that Tolkein's works are set in our world, merely a long, long time ago. But what would happen after the men died out? What would Arda look like then?

That it what I'm trying to write in this fic.

I am not trying to replace Dagor Dorath, and this fic actually sort-of takes place before then, as Melkor has not returned. I will be bending the rules of when certain things are supposed to happen (as you will see later in the fic), but this is not a post-Dagor Dorath fic.

This protagonist is not re-building the world, exactly, as she is not returning it to the way it was before Melkor - you'll see what I mean.

I hope that this notice makes sense and clears up any confusion people might be having. I a not an expert in the lore of Middle Earth, and am just here to have fun.

I hope you all have a lovely day, and goodbye!
