Tony couldn't believe it.
He had known Steve for so many years, yet Rogers did not hesitate to betray him. All of this for one man, the ex-killer of Hydra. Why is Barnes so important to him? Why did he betray someone he co-created the Avengers with for him?
The fight was going well for him at the beginning, but now he knew he had no chance. He was alone - help out of nowhere, emptiness. Only Peter's soft moans reached his ears. The boy was even in worse situation than he was. Stark cursed silently. He took Parker with him as a backup, and Barnes and Steve ended up fscrewing them.
How? Why? What had he done to deserve such a fate?
It wasn't supposed to be like this. The Captain and the Winter Soldier were supposed to lose, hands down. After all, Tony is a genius! Billionaire! He has changed during recent years - for the better, of course - but that was still not enough. Steve broke their team. What he did is unforgivable. Maybe he felt a little guilty about it, but he stubbornly went along into nonetheless.
All this to protect his childhood best friend.
Stark bit his lower lip. Who would have thought that Rogers would turn on him so suddenly and try to help Barnes with all his heart? Tony knew Steve was clearly sensitive to Bucky's hurt, but to that extant?
It is not how it was supposed to be.
"Mr. Stark…" Peter moaned, tears in his eyes.
So far, he has been doing really well, but in the end James has beaten him. The kid had no way to defend himself now, he would not win.
Or maybe Rogers will withdraw? Maybe he will change his mind? He can still do it. As long as he regains his sanity--!
"Sorry Tony," Steve said, raising his right hand. “but Bucky is my friend.”
“So was I” Stark straightened, staring hard into his opponent's eyes.
Then the blond lowered his hand.
“You draw four cards, Tony.” He put the card with "+4" on it on the table.
“Damn it, fuck you and Barnes!” He exclaimed, furiously adding four cards to his deck. “And I already had a UNO!”
Barnes smiled slightly under his breath as he looked intently at his cards. Steve just shook his head.
"Such a game," he said, then gave Bucky a high-five.
"It's not fair," growled Peter, whose deck already contained seventeen cards.
Tony swore one thing - he would get revenge. The next round will be up to him and Parker.
