The Prince Of Mischief

Chapter One.

OKAY FIRSTLY,

OMG HEY!

I just wanted to thank you for giving my story a try it means the world to me!

Please let me know if I have gotten some of the marvel context wrong or have spelt something incorrectly :)

I'm writing this using a second-person point of view to give you all a more personal feel in the story and I prefer to write in that way.

This will be a slow-burn romance between Loki and Y/N and will include a lot of drama ;)

Anyways.. you're probably wanting to get to the story so here is a list of the x Reader abbreviations that I will be using throughout.

(Y/n) your name

(E/c) eye colour

(H/l) hair length

(H/c) hair colour

(S/t) skin tone

(S/c) skin colour

(F/c) favourite colour

(U/o) usual outfit

If I use any others please let me know so that I can add them here, thank you and enjoy!

~1:00 AM~

You tiptoed out of the bathroom. (H/l), (H/c) hair was dripping beads of water down your face because you had just washed it in the shower. Warily, you treaded into your room closing the door silently, behind you. After glancing at the watch on your wrist, you dried off as much water from your damp hair then fastened it securely, into a sorry-attempt of a bun, and proceeded to put on some (F/c) pyjamas.

As you stepped into your bed you realise how much you will regret this tomorrow..well in fact today. Chuckling quietly to yourself, you reached over to your nightstand and set your phone down to charge whilst also checking to confirm if your hundreds of alarms had been turned on, knowing you were definitely not a morning person. Leaning back you let your head hit the pillow shutting your eyes and almost instantly fell asleep.

~In the morning~

Your morning alarm chimed into your ears, the opening curtain call for the day. It's been a while since you had a dreamless sleep, you thought to yourself as you hopped out of bed.

"Y/N?" your aunt Claire shouted, loudly from downstairs.

 "Coming!" you replied.

Your aunt had been there for you ever since the accident that killed your parents... you shook your head in an attempt not to think about that right now and began to get dressed in one of your (U/o) for school. After slipping on your shoes you grabbed your school bag and raced down the stairs, aiming to eat at least something small before getting the bus to school.

"Morning," Claire grinned.

"Morning," you mumbled back whilst also reaching for a slice of the warm, buttered toast that was set on the table.

"Well, I'm guessing from that response you went to sleep late again?" Claire chuckled handing you a glass of water.

You grasped the glass and smiled at her appreciatively. "It wasn't as late as I normally do, and coffee gives me all the energy that I could possibly need anyways," you laughed, devouring the golden toast at the same time.

"Whatever you say," Claire smirked and snatched up her bag from off the counter and her car keys. "Remember that I will be home late tonight," she added, You knew that she was always held back late at work and nodded back at her in response. You waved her goodbye and quickly gulped down the rest of your water before standing up and placing your dishes in the sink to wash when you return home from Hell, also known as school.

After seizing your school bag and keys, you left the house, locked up and began to make the 5-minute journey to the bus stop. The sun was just beginning to rise as you made your way through the busy manhattan streets. Cool, crisp air made its way through your nose as you inhaled deeply, taking in the golden hue that was suddenly cast upon you. You had always loved sunrises, mostly because you used to always go on morning walks with your mother. She loved nature and tried her best to make you fall in love with it too, which you soon did.

~Time jump 5 minutes~

After walking continuously for a few minutes, the bus stop emerged into your view. Your eyes frantically searched the small crowd of students until you spotted a short, fair-haired girl.  Amelia. You smirked and began to sneak up behind her, you reached out and gently shook her shoulders to which she shrieks with fear.

"Y/N!" Amelia gasped, staring at you, her lower lip trembling.

"Sorry," you grinned, "You are just so easy to sneak up on," you added.

She gave you a lopsided grin, "And you wonder why you're single," she simply replied.

You clutched your chest and pulled a pained expression, "Ouch that h- hurt-," you jokingly whined and began to laugh whilst Amelia rolled her eyes at your classic use of sarcasm.

After you managed to finally stop laughing, the red school bus pulled up to the side-walk and the doors sprung open allowing students to pour in. You and Amelia were the last ones to get on due to you arriving so late, as usual. Stepping onto the bus you raised your phone, showing the driver the bus pass which was visible through your clear phone case. She forced you a smile and then dismissed you to take a seat. You turned and placed your phone in the back pocket of your jeans and took in the students that were already sat down in their seats, Your expression instantly dulled when you saw the group of girls that normally call you names and scurried to where Amelia was sitting at the back of the bus.

She stared at you with a confused expression plastered across her face and followed your troubled gaze to the group of girls seated at the front. "Try to ignore them Y/N, they're just bitches who think that they're better than everyone else," she stated. Looking back up at you she noticed that your eyes were still filled with worry. "If they try to say anything else to you I'll be here okay? I promise," she reassured.

Your face softened as you glance back and smile at your best friend, "I don't know what I would do without you," you beamed back at her.

"Hmm neither do I," Amelia retorted, eliciting a giggle from you.

You slipped your phone out of your pocket and began to unravel the tangled headphones that were awkwardly, wrapped around it. After what felt like years, you managed to untangle them and immediately made a note to self:" save up for AirPods". Cramming the headphones into your ears, You deeply sigh and then open up the music app on your phone and hit play on one of your playlists titled "Y/N's and mom's favourites".  Tears suddenly began to flood your eyes as you recognised the song that was playing to be the one from your parent's wedding. Words were not enough to be able to express how much you would give to see them one last time, even if it were just for a few seconds. You stared down at your bitten nails and attempted at picking the nail varnish remnants from when you had painted them last week, trying to focus on anything but those wynorrific memories.

      ~Flashback, 3 years ago~

"Where have you been you?"  your mom demanded, her voice thick with anger, "You didn't call. You didn't text. Nothing!"  she added angrily whilst almost practically glaring into your soul.

"I don't need to explain myself to you, not anymore, you lied to me!" you snapped back, your eyes burned with rage as you looked up at her.

She rolled her eyes and then clenched her jaw, "I am your mother! And it was for your own good, you're too young to know these things", she concluded.

"I will not let you decide what I can and can not know!" you hissed, fists now forming at your sides. "If you refuse to tell me things that concern me, I will go and find someone else who will".

Your mother squeezed her eyes shut as tears began to run down her face... "Seriously Y/n? Why can't you just listen to me for once! I'm trying to keep you safe, why can't you just understand that?" she cried.

Seeing the tears spill down her face gave you an overwhelming feeling of anxiety, causing you to fight back your own as you tore them from her face. "I don't need protecting", you snapped, "In fact, I don't even want to stay in this house anymore." you declared, your eyes not lifting from the floor. You knew you were going to regret what you were going to say next.

Your mom stared back at you in disbelief and shook her head slowly. "You couldn't possibly mean that right? ", she whispered, her hands now raised to cover her mouth, "After everything that I have done for you?"

A feeling suddenly began to spread through your body as you tried to comprehend what you had just heard your mom say. You both had always got on but after discovering the number of lies she had been telling you, you were furious. She had lied about one of the things you never thought she would have, your dad. "You're kidding me right?", you muttered deadly, "I'm just going to leave and stay at Amelia's, I can't stay here", you said before finally breaking eye contact with the floor and moving to grab your bag, which had been tossed onto the sofa.

~ Present time ~

The bus jerking to a stop finally dragged you back to reality, so you wiped your teary face and stood up to get off.

Well then that was a dramatic chapter :0

I promise that the character you're all waiting for will be introduced in the next chapter, which I'm aiming to have published this Sunday ( 4th July )! Also just to warn you all I'm not exactly the best at spelling so please do leave me a comment if anything is spelt wrong. I hope you have all enjoyed this chapter and have enjoyed getting to know Y/n better :)

Be prepared, the next chapter will be interesting some might say... ;
