Summary
After getting tired of texting Bucky repeatedly with no response, Sam stops by his apartment and runs into an interesting security system Bucky has. Trigger Warning: implied depression

Hey. Just checking in.

Hi.

Hello.

Are you ignoring me or do you genuinely not know how to respond to a text?

Okay well if you don't know how to respond to a text, you type on the keyboard when you click on my text. It's simple. You can even Google it if you need to know how to.

Anyway since you're ignoring me I'll just keep texting you how my life is going because I know you are reading these texts.

AJ slipped and fell today and now has a giant scar on his arm. He's okay if you're worried. He just needs to rest for a bit. That was a lot of blood. I haven't seen that much in a while.

Sarah made food and AJ tripped again on the way inside. I swear that kid is cursed or something because he's always tripping.

Cass picked up a book today and is obsessed with it. He finished it in like 2 hours. It was an astronomy book. He's going through a space phase.

AJ tripped AGAIN. I can't believe this. I'm gonna wrap this kid in bubble wrap I swear.

Update: I bought bubble wrap because this kid tripped again. And I'm about to wrap AJ in bubble wrap. I'll send a picture in a few.

Some guy ended up crashing into a fire hydrant nearby and the kids came home completely soaked.

AJ just fell in the lake. Note the facepalming because this is ridiculous. He's okay, again. This kid is like super human or something.

Right so I went to the store today and there was a sale on ice cream so I bought like all the ice cream there (luckily we have another freezer in the other room). So now we're having an ice cream day.

My head hurts from the brain freezes.

Are you okay? You're reading my texts but you're not responding. I'm getting worried. Is everything okay?

*missed call from Sam

Bucky please answer the phone.

That's it. I'm coming by your apartment. I don't care.

"Okay. Here we go," Sam said as he walked up to the apartment.

Sam knocked on the door. He waited for an answer but didn't get one. He turned the knob and saw it was unlocked, him automatically starting to worry. Sam walked inside the apartment.

Before Sam could say anything, he immediately felt a blow to the chest and blacked out.

——

"Ow," Sam said quietly as he started to wake up.

Sam lifted up his head and saw blurs. He went to move but felt pressure around his torso and legs. When he finally got his vision to focus, he jumped when he noticed he was restrained with...webs?

"Shit," Sam said before noticing a figure sitting on the counter. "Not this kid again."

"Who are you?" Spider-Man asked.

"Why are you here?" Sam asked as he struggled against the chair he was tied to.

"Why are you?" Spider-Man asked.

"I'm checking on Bucky," Sam said as he tugged at the webs again but remembered he wasn't able to get out of them last time.

"Why are you checking on Mr. Barnes?" Spider-Man asked.

"Because he's my friend," Sam said. "What are you doing here?"

"Mr. Barnes pays me $50 a day to stay at his apartment ever since Tuesday," Spider-Man said.

"Tuesday was when I sent him that text saying I was stopping by," Sam said quietly.

"Is he ignoring you?" Spider-Man asked sadly.

"Yeah," Sam said.

"I'm sorry. I'm sure he'll come around," Spider-Man said.

"Can you untie me?" Sam asked.

"Um...about that," Spider-Man said awkwardly, Sam looking at him weirdly. "It's kinda...not possible."

"What?" Sam asked with a glare.

"It's a new formula Mr. Stark and I came up with and it'll dissolve in a few hours but there's like no way it's coming undone," Spider-Man said quickly.

"Are you-" Sam said before stopping himself from cursing this kid out. "Sam, breathe. Where's Bucky, kid?"

"Mr. Barnes wanted ice cream," Spider-Man said. "He'll be back soon."

"When he gets here, web him up too," Sam said.

"Why?" Spider-Man asked.

"I'll pay you $60 if you do it," Sam said.

"Deal," Spider-Man said quickly.

——

"Kid, I'm back," Bucky said as he walked into the apartment and locked the door.

"Hey, Mr. Barnes," Spider-Man said awkwardly as he hung from the ceiling upside down.

"You can take off the mask. I don't have any friends to tell your identity to," Bucky said awkwardly.

"What about your friend, Sam?" Spider-Man asked.

"He's not my friend," Bucky mumbled.

"What? Yes he is! He's totally your friend! He kept on texting you and making sure you were okay," Spider-Man said.

"Yeah but...I don't wanna bother him," Bucky said as he put the container of ice cream in the fridge.

"Why would you think you're bothering him?" Spider-Man asked.

"Because he won't like me when he finds out," Bucky said.

"Finds out what?" Spider-Man asked.

"Nothing," Bucky said.

"Can I get paid now?" Spider-Man asked.

"Yeah," Bucky said with a smile as he pulled out his wallet and handed Spider-Man a $50. "Take care, kid."

"Mr. Barnes," Spider-Man said.

"Yeah?" Bucky asked.

"I'm sorry," Spider-Man said.

"For what?" Bucky asked before he blacked out.

——

Bucky woke up slowly and jumped when he realized he was restrained. He froze as he saw Sam sitting across from him in a chair, Sam spinning the chair aimlessly.

"You're awake," Sam said as he stopped spinning.

"Why are we restrained?" Bucky asked before Spider-Man came into the room and went into Sam's pocket.

"Dude. You can wait," Sam said as he felt Spider-Man grab his wallet.

"No I can't. I need money. There was this really cool limited edition Star Wars LEGO set I saw and I need it but it's like $200," Spider-Man said as he grabbed $60 from Sam's wallet.

"You grabbed $60," Sam said weirdly.

"Yeah. You said you would pay me $60 to tie up Mr. Barnes," Spider-Man said.

"There's like $400 dollars in cash in there and you're only grabbing $60?" Sam asked.

"Well yeah. We agreed on $60 so I'm taking $60," Spider-Man said before freezing. "I gotta go. Karen just said the sale is almost over."

"Wait, you're gonna-" Sam said before getting cut off by Spider-Man jumping out the window. "...leave us here."

Sam sighed. He looked at Bucky again, who was glaring at him.

"I hate you," Bucky said with a glare.

“Why have you been ignoring me?” Sam asked.

“Because I don’t want you to see who I really am,” Bucky said quietly.

“What?” Sam asked.

“The more we talk, the closer we get. And the closer we get, the more likely you are to…” Bucky trailed off.

“To what?” Sam asked.

“Hate me,” Bucky said quietly.

“Why would I hate you?” Sam asked sadly.

“Because I…I like you,” Bucky mumbled.

“Well of course you like me. We’re friends,” Sam said before Bucky gave him a look. “Oh. That type of like.”

“Now you see why I pushed you away? So I wouldn’t hurt you, or get hurt when you don’t feel the same way,” Bucky mumbled.

“I…I was in the closet my whole life,” Sam said hesitantly, Bucky looking up from the floor. “My sister had her suspicions but…hell, I never told her. I’ve brought a few guys over my house as a teenager but…those ended in disaster so I just kept in the closet and chained up the doors. Luckily I like men and women so I had women to fall back on.”

“You still won’t feel the same way about me,” Bucky said.

“Who said that?” Sam asked.

“Me, just now,” Bucky said awkwardly.

“Well you is wrong,” Sam said, Bucky freezing. “I like you too, dumbass.”

“Great, now that we’ve established this, how do we get loose?” Bucky asked with a glare.

“It’ll dissolve in…I don’t know how many hours,” Sam said.

“I’m going back to hating you,” Bucky said with a glare.

“A little less then before?” Sam asked.

“Barely any less,” Bucky said.

“But still less then before,” Sam said with a smile. “I’ll warm up to you. Just you wait.”

“I regret having feelings,” Bucky said to himself.

“Can’t change a damn thing about it now, sweetheart,” Sam said with a smile, Bucky groaning in annoyance.
