Chapter 1
Cuphead and pjo crossover headcanons (a lot of the lore I have for this idea comes from casino cups, so make sure to check it out if you haven’t!)
• The inkwell isles are three small isles protected from view from mortals, and most Demi gods as well.
• The isles are home to many of the gods failed projects, strange monsters and beings that don’t seem to fit anywhere else. (People with objects for heads, the devil, strange monsters, unfinished or faulty projects of gods, hiding places for those who hide from the gods, once was the sacred land of the calax amini, cursed people/souls, ect.) (again, a lot of the lore I’m making comes from casino cups [the calax amini] so read the comic if you haven’t already!)
• The three isles (like the three isles in the game), are also the home of the Devil’s casino
• The devil is not like the Christian looking devil you see in the game. He’s usually hiding in the shadows, using dark magic, constantly changing forms, signing away people’s souls, cursing lost sailors and travelers. He runs the casino under a contract with Hades. The deal is that whoever he makes a deal with, is to be sent into Tartarus for allowing the Devil to grant them a wish while they were still alive (and this wish could be anything.) the contract is signed by the person or monster or whatever wants to make a deal with him, and it is to be presented in the underworld when they die.
• The isles, like mentioned earlier, we’re the original inhabitants of the isles, along with the devil. The Callix Amini were the ones who put the cloaking mist on the island to hide their powerful presence of magic and power from monsters and regular mortals.
• Many of the artwork that remains of the Callix Amini depicts them with halos or a golden glow. Many have theorized if they were divine monsters, creations of haphestus because of their bronze like look, if they were creations of Hecate since they could utilize incredible amounts of magic spells and potions, or if they were followers of Apollo due to their golden sheen.
• Only one thing is for certain though: The Callix Amini disappeared without a trace. It angered the Devil greatly, as he was looking for the roots of their incredible powers to have it as his own, but they disappeared without much explanation at all.
• Eventually over the years, the isles became a bit of a dumping ground for the gods failed or unwanted projects, strange monsters and creatures, or those hiding from the gods.
• From there, under their deal, the devil created his casino, gaining riches and many uncollected contracts in the process, thanks to many of the people that signed the contracts running away from their deals after realizing what the punishment would be
• Some of the debtors would include a half gorgon mermaid(cala), a sailor hiding from the gods(briney beard), an inventor picking up from the scraps left by haphestus on the isles(Dr.Kahl), A warman betrayed by Aries to forever be cast out from whatever he seeked to do aside from war(Werner), a follower of Dionysus who was shunned after his exile from Olympus(sally), A ruler who was tricked into believing that she was better than the gods(bonbon), A royal jester of Olympus who ran off after the exile of Dionysus(Beppi), A hydra who was to scared to fend for himself(Grimm), and a train of ghosts forever cursed by hades to forever keep moving or their souls would be destroyed(phantom express)
•Despite the fact that the isles are hidden from mortals and most Demi gods as well, the Devil’s casino is still a commonly talked about myth (to the mortals, especially those that follow Christian beliefs), and it’s spread around at bit between some of the campers.
• no one who has ever searched for the isles has ever been found again
• many sailors would fall prey to the nearby sirens’ songs before ever getting close to finding the isles.
•Despite this, a few strange artifacts and relics have still been washed ashore in various places. Camp halfblood even has a relic in the big house attic with all the rest of their stuff which is labeled:MYSTERIOUS MAGICAL CHALLACE WASHED ASHORE 2000
• The only remaining pieces of the Callix Amini besides the relics are believed to be the cup brothers, a pair of (believed to be monsters or Demi gods), with cups for heads
• The only real proof for this assumption however would be their shooting powers, super moves, the ability to piece themselves back together like shattered glass, bringing their souls back from the dead and some other powers that may be yet to be unlocked.
• The only people who don’t live on the isles that seem to know about them are the gods, some monsters, possibly the Titans and Chiron (but Chiron won’t say anything about it)
