Earth's Mightest Heros
4 Days Later
Tony’s Pov.
It’s been about 4 days since I got a call from Spider-kid telling me he couldn’t patrol for a little while, which is fine and understandable. We've been telling him that he needs more down time anyways but hell I’m surprised the kid is actually taking it.
I would have called him to come to the tower but I was not going to break his much needed… whatever he was doing right now just to come and meet one of the other Avengers who usually didn’t spend much time on Earth unless necessary. The mystical being that was apparently hiding out on Earth though so we were all having a great time catching up and helping the god find what he was looking for.
“Stark, are you any closer to locating him?” Thor asked, he wasn't great at being patient.
“You haven't given us much to go off so it might take some time. We don't exactly have something that can plug your subconscious thoughts into the search parameters. If you don't know who you're looking for there is only so much we can do.” I rolled my eyes and walked away from the table I was setting search parameters into. “Everything is set up the best we can with the limited information you know so the best we can do is wait for it to finish searching.”
“I should keep searching while that is running.” Thor says and moves to grab his hammer, which he still had at this point.
“For what?” Clint asked from where was positioned, leaning against the wall of the lab we were in. “It’s not like you even know what this creature looks like. You said it yourself, you can’t recognize it unless it wants you to so there’s no point in looking until he wants you to look for him.”
“He’s got a point, Thor.” Natasha tells him “Sometimes you need to take a step back in order to see who it is you’re really after.”
“Why don’t we all get a drink, and try to lift your hammer.” I tell him. “I’m telling you that it’s simple physics and not a worthwhile thing. I’ve drawn up some designs with Bruce and I think we might have it this time.” I move back to the computer to pull up the design to look at it once more.
“You’ve all attempted this already. Is this what you really wish to waste your time with when there is a beast roaming your planet?” Thor asked. “Earth’s mightiest heroes want to spend their time doing this?”
“Hell yeah we do.” Clint was missing his family right now and it would probably be a good way to take his mind off of them. He’d be returning home in about a week but it didn’t seem to be coming fast enough. Shield had wanted him to stay here for some big threat that was supposed to be coming that hasn’t yet. He hasn’t seen them in person for almost a month and I’m surprised he lasted here for this long without returning back. I’m hardly holding it together and I haven’t seen or heard from Peter in over a week, and I haven’t physically seen Peter in almost a year.
“Come on, what else is there really to do work wise?” I ask him.
“I think I made it clear that we can search in person while your computers do what they will.” Thor sighed. “Fine, if this is all that can be done you can try.”
“Yesss! I’ll go find us booze.” Clint runs out of the room.
“Let’s take it inside where we can be more comfortable.” I tell him and slap his arm in friendly gestures.
Natasha rolled her eyes softly but she still wore a small smile on her face.
Thor set his hammer down on the floor. “Of course. Why don’t you bring the hammer inside and set it where you wish to try and pick it up.” He smirked and started walking out.
“I didn’t grab my tools yet. How am I supposed to do that?” I asked and pressed some of the keys on the table to get the tool to be sent up to me.
“Be worthy.” Is all he said before exiting the room.
