I. Prologue
The beeping of the damned phone disrupted the silence of the room. An emergency meeting was the last thing she wanted to attend, but it wasn't like she had a choice. Cursing, Amanda got off the bed and slugged towards the bathroom.
The mirror reflected an image she did not know. Puffy eyes and messy hair. Crying herself to sleep every night tends to do that. Sighing, she freshened up and made herself some coffee. Not really wanting to eat, she quickly dressed up and headed for work.
The weather outside vastly contradicted her mood. The sun shone brightly and the smell of autumn hung in the air. The light chirping of the birds somewhat helped her calm herself. The peaceful walk however, was short lived.
"Hey Amy! Think fast!"
She barely had time to register her name being called out before she saw the apple heading her way. With her unnaturally quick reflexes, she caught it just before it hit her face and turned around, scowling at the man , who was currently laughing his ass out.
"Sod off Nagel."
"You should've seen the look on your face! Oh my god!"
Grumbling under her breath, she walked towards the tall building. Irritation radiating off her in heaps.
Nagel ran up to ger, clearly taken aback at her response. He was used to seeing her always with a smile. But something changed a few days before. When the fight happened. He knew what she was going through and wished he could help her. If only she'd let him. Worried about her, he put a gentle arm on her shoulder and turned her around.
"Hey. Honey. Whats wrong?", he asked, concern laced in his voice.
"Absolutely Nothing. I don't wanna talk about it."
Shrugging off his his arm, she walked into the building, trying her best to fight off the tears that threatened to fall. With a shaky breath, she tried to compose herself before entering the important meeting.

"So three men, all whom you've worked with, or against before, are gonna be coming tonight. And we need to save their asses in a pretend match?"
"Pretty much, yeah."
"Ok. Cool."
"Oh and Amy, could i see you in private?"
"Uh. Sure."
Amy walked into the room behind Sharon. This was rather weird. Sharon never had anything to tell to someone privately. Well other than her clients that is. But Amy followed her boss into the room filled with extravagant pieces of art
"As you know, the Winter Soldier, whom you are quite familiar with, will be one of the three people who are to come tonight. I presume that wont be a problem for you."
The winter soldier. The one whom she was trained to become. Shaking off the torturous memories, she shrugged.
"No. It won't."
"Good. I don't want any mess. You know what happened the last time the mission went awry right?"
Amanda did not need any reminding. The memory was still fresh.
"Then I hope you'll take care to pay attention to every detail this time. For your own sake."
If things were bad before, it just got worse.
