As it Should pt. 1

Being a secretary at the TVA was never an easy job.

You never got to do any of the fun stuff. That was always left to your bosses.

While they left to capture variants, you were stuck at your dimly lit desk filling out paperwork. When they’d come back from their expeditions, there was more paperwork.

You never felt like they cared about you or appreciated what you did.

You were there to fill out paperwork, fill up their coffee cups and pull and put back Variant files.

But with Mobius, it was different.

At the beginning of every shift, he’d bring you a coffee and a breakfast item. Sometimes, it’d be a croissant, and sometimes it’d be something like oatmeal. It never mattered, as long as he was with you, your day was made.

He always came to sit with you and strike up a conversation.

There were no real deep talks; It was always about new variants he caught, new sodas he’d try or if you had found anything cool in the case files. You always enjoyed the conversations.

During the rest of your shifts, you and him would always exchange smiles and talk about each other's day. Your days were always great and never hectic until…

“Y/N?” Mobius asked while sitting down a coffee and a danish on your desk.

“Yes, Mr. Mobius?”, you asked. He hated when you called him mister. “Stop calling me Mister. You know I hate it. Anyway, when I leave and go home for the night, you’re always here. When I get back, you’re still here, typing away at your computer. Do you ever leave that desk? Do you even go home?”

And with that question, you froze to think. There was never a reason to go home. Sure you could sleep but, what was the point? It’s not like it helped you. You were created to work. Why would the all knowing time keepers create you with flaws. As you came back to reality, Mobius knew the answer with just your eyes.

“Honestly, Mobius, I couldn’t tell you the last time I left this desk. I don’t have a reason to leave. The TVA created me to work non-stop and do all the behind the scenes job.” You told him.

You felt good getting your emotions out but, it made you realize how boring your job was. As you went you meet his eyes, you saw an expression on his face that made your heart skip a beat.

This expression on his face was brand new to you. He almost seemed concerned. Sure, he would worry but, he never showed you. He always wanted to keep you happy. “I’ll be back.” He said, walking away.

As you watched him walk away, you started to think about him. You hoped you hadn’t scared of the only person who seemed to care about you. You worried he was going to make Ramona assign you to someone else.

However, you couldn’t let these emotions show. You just sat toward and continued to work while thinking of the silver haired man who managed to wrap you around his finger.

After what felt like an eternity, and who knows it could have been, Mobius came back to your desk. Who knew what he was up to when he was gone. All that mattered was that he was back.

“Hey” Mobius said with a case file in one hand and a Josta in the other. You began to apologize profusely,

“Hi.IhopeIdidn'tscareyoutoomuchItfeltgoodtogetmyemotions outforonce,I'msorry”

Normally, you never let people into your heart. They almost never seemed to care but with Mobius, it just felt right.

“Don't be sorry about that. We all have things we need to get off our chests. Some are easier than others. Some take time.” He chuckled, making your heart jump again.

“Listen, I may have found some variant activity on an earth. I could always use an extra set of eyes and hands but Hunter B-15 is busy. Would you mind helping me out on this mission?”

“Me? Go find a Variant? With You?”

“Yes, if that’s okay. I know I’m probably not the best company, but…”

“No! That’s not what I mean!” You exclaimed!

“Well, alright. Follow me.” He said, extending his hand. Grabbing it, you stood up.

It felt nice getting up from your desk. It was something that you never knew you needed.

As Mobius began leading you away from your desk, you realized that he wasn’t letting go of your hand. You weren’t complaining. Your hands fit perfectly into one another, almost like the sacred timeline meant for it to happen.
