Summary
It couldn't end like this
Note
This is going to be a short story. Three, at most four chapters, since I have too many WIPs.However, I plan to leave the way open to continue it, if it arouses your interest dear readers.Outside of that, three little things:a) This is fanfiction not canon, you have been warned.b) I am not a native English author, so I will surely make grammatical mistakes. From now on, I apologize for this, but I want to make it clear that I do not receive a penny for writting, that I do it for fun and share with others, so, no, I am not going to be editing minimal style and grammatical errors. I know that you have good intentions, but I do not have the time to do it.c) Disclaimer: As I said, I do not receive any kind of money for this. I just do it for fun, for myself and share with the fandom. The characters and their canonical history are the property of their respective owners.

Another season finale

The branches of the multiverse were unfolding in front of B15's eyes and his with breathtaking speed.

He closed his eyes and denied with his head.

Everything they had been protecting was decomposing in front of their eyes. B15 had convinced the minute men. The troops were guarded and on standby.

Only one thing was certain.

There was no going back.

It was not possible that they would do anything to stop what was happening and as he had been able to verify when speaking with the judge, the only way to destroy the TVA was, precisely, let it fall.

Because unlike Ravonna, he could not accept that such a supernatural entity existed. The concept of the Time Keepers was very different from that of a single time planner, with such a controversial and objectionable agenda.

He ran a hand through his hair with a sigh.

It sounded hypocritical.

After all, the people who inhabited the TVA had also played a bit at being gods and, like the judge, had not questioned the ethical result of their interventions on the timeline at all.

They had been willing pawns, doing the dirty work of an unknown entity that had probably laughed while moving them on the chessboard.

Likewise, wallowing in grief and self-flagellation was of no use.

They couldn't change what had happened. They could not intervene.

The most revolutionary thing they could do, like the former executers of the TVA, was to do nothing.

But that, where did leave him and all his companions? How could they regain a life on the timelines that were expanding like that? Would any of them remain after Loki and Sylvie did what they had to do?

_What's that?

He felt that B15 was asking at his side and he opened his eyes again to discover that, on the branch that was beginning to break, one of its splinters was extending out of the ordinary, within the chaos in which things were.

His breath hitched then.

He has seen that variation before.

Lamentis.

He swallowed hard.

Those two.

Although… this time, there was a difference.

He raised a finger to the screen and ran over the explosive splinter that grew faster than the others and that featured a color too familiar to him: green.

_Where is that? - he asked the analysts pointing to where on the screen the variation was suddenly cut, appearing all the sudden a different sliver of the special branch - Can we establish it?

One of them concentrated the server on the new splinter and the message that came out left them all speechless: TVA - Alternative 2 - Transversal time 2

He gritted his teeth.

Ravonna had lied to them again.

She had escaped from there.

Not looking for any decision maker.

But to take over another TVA.

Because there was more than one.

Because the entity that decided for everyone had chosen to abandon this TVA and use another or several TVA’s, together with its faithful lackeys. So, to continue intervening in the timelines and even, he hated to think about it but it was likely the most logical choice, to finish specifying a twisted plan that would end precisely in a new multiversal war.

After all, he would not be the first madman to destroy everything around him with the excuse of "saving it".

_And the other?

He asked, pointing to the original splinter that continued on its way, because if that line represented who he thought it represented, there was only room for one answer to the question: who stayed? And he had to figure it out.

_We can't locate it, sir! - explained another of the men who kept typing at high speed - It is out of our possibilities! It could even be located beyond time!

His eyes returned to the splinter that did not continue. The one that pulled away and his throat tightened.

"Loki"

He thought when he heard the agitated analyst and put one of his hands to his suit jacket to hastily search for the tempad that was there, since it had been given to him on the hill.

His hands were shaking so badly when he opened it that he almost dropped it, but he was able to catch it in time.

"I hope you know that you deserve to be alone and that you always will be"

Lady Sif's words echoed terribly in his brain.

Loki was alone. On another TVA.

He didn't know how he knew, but that was Loki, not Sylvie.

And his Loki was alone.

On another TVA.

With another Mobius.

With another Ravonna.

That did not know him.

After, surely, a chaotic situation with his other variant.

That have managed to penetrate the tough skin of the Mage Prince of Asgard, as he had not been able to do so.

Loki trusted Sylvie. And he was no longer with her.

The Jotunn/Aesir was alone.

In danger.

As always.

He opened the device and synchronized it with what was happening.

He had to fix it.

_Yes! - he exclaimed relieved at notice how the tempad activated a completely stable portal to the coordinates of the synchronization.

_Yes? What? - B15 asked him when he saw him go to the gate of the portal - Mobius, where are you going?

_I need to look for someone - he smiled and winked at her, turning as the portal opened - Don't start the party without us.

_Damn! Mobius!

He felt her exclaim and smirked as he found himself inside his interrogation room at the new TVA.

It didn't matter how different he was at this time.

It didn't matter how much they knew in this reality.

He had not been a variant in the service of the TVA until reaching the position of best analyst and right hand of the judge without the necessary skill to bend the hand of fate.

More if Loki was the reward for his daring.

Loki.

His Loki.

It was his responsibility.

And he was sorry for anyone who will try to get in the way.
