It was T'Challa and Everett's wedding day.

Everett swears it was just yesterday when they first got together.

Now, just shy of four years later, they are about to devote their lives to each other.

"I can't believe this is happening," Everett breathed out, sounding a little hysterical.

"My Queen, are you nervous?" K'arita asked from where she was kneeling on the floor in front of him. Glancing down at her while she made final adjustments, he glared. "You think your funny, huh?"

She grinned up at him.

Everett looked back up at himself in the mirror. "Of course I'm nervous. I am marrying a king."

"Knock knock!" A voice called from behind the door.

"Who is it?" Everett asked.

"It's Shuri and Okoye, my Queen," Shuri answered.

"Come in."

Opening the door, Shuri pushed Okoye inside.

Both of their eyes widened.

"My Queen. You look so gorgeous." Okoye stated in awe. They had both seen the gown before, but never on Everett.

Everett blushed. "Do you think T'Challa will like it?"

"If he doesn't I might have to smack some sense into him," Ramonda said, walking into the room.

"Queen Mother."

"Darling, you look like you need a hug," She said, walking over to him and enveloping him in her arms. Shuri and K'arita joined as well.

"Okoye, come on. Group hug." Shuri said.

"Rather not."

"Just leave her be, Shuri," Everett mumbled to her.

"Of course, my Queen."

They pulled back, and Everett wiped tears from his eyes. "Thank you. K'arita, are you done?"

"Yes, I just need the veil. Where... Here." She placed the headband on his head."I made it into a headband so it will stay better."

"It looks great."

"Well, we're gonna go see how my brother is doing. See if he's freaking out yet."

"Okay. Tell him hi for me!" Everett called as Shuri, Okoye, and Ramonda walked out of the bridal chambers.

"Brother? Are you alright?" Shuri glanced around, not seeing any life forms. Pushing a kimoyo bead on her bracelet, she used the tracking device to find T'Challa. Double tapping the bead, it brought up a map of the palace. A bright orange dot was moving swiftly towards the bridal chambers.

"Is T'Challa going to see Everett? He can't do that." Ramonda looked at Shuri.

"We have to catch him. Okoye? Can you..."

"Of course, Princess." She hurried away, the sound of her speaking rapidly on her communicator drifting away.

Okoye sat the King in a chair in the dressing room.

"You can't see the bride before the wedding, brother. You know this."

"I miss him!" T'Challa said, trying to defend his actions.

"You saw him two days ago! He sometimes has to wait two weeks for you to get back from meetings. How do you think he must feel?"

"I hadn't thought about that."

"Whatever. We don't have time for this." Shuri looked at her kimoyo beads again and tapped one. "See! It's 9:24! You need to get to the chapel! You are walking your soon-to-be wife walk down the aisle in 11 minutes!"

T'Challa growled in frustration and ran out of the room.

Shuri looked at Ramonda. "Mom. You need to go too."

"Yes, I suppose. See you later." She smiled and drifted calmly out of the room.

"If your father could see you now." Ramonda sighed. "Pacing about the room. All nervous about getting married. Son, come here."

T'Challa glanced at his mother. Then, he walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her torso. "What if he doesn't want to marry me? What if- what if he thinks he made a mistake?" His voice broke.

"Why would he still be here if he didn't want to marry you? Why would he be in a wedding gown if he didn't want to marry you?" She rubbed circles into his back. "Come on dear, if you keep crying, your eyes will get puffy." Ramonda pulled back from her son, sizing him up.

Glancing around for a cloth, she wiped T'Challa's eyes.

They heard the music start.

"I believe it is our turn, darling." She put out her elbow, which he took.

Two of the guards opened the doors.

Thinking of Everett, T'Challa smiled and started walking.

Shuri was next with the rings.

And finally, the bride.

The only word T'Challa could use to describe Everett was-

"Ukujikeleza." (pulchritudinous(beautiful))

M'Baku glanced to his left and pasted on a judgmental face.

T'Challa flushed and cleared his throat. Looking back at the aisle, he saw K'arita, Everett's stylist, holding up his train.

He watched as Everett walked up to the altar and handed his bouquet to K'arita. Kissing him on the cheek, she went to stand next to Shuri.

"Family and friends, thank you all for coming today to share this wonderful occasion. Today we are here together to unite T'Challa and Everett in marriage. Please join hands." Zuri pronounced.

T'Challa stepped up to Everett and held out his hands, palm up. Looking up into his partner's face, he saw the soft grin Everett wore as he took T'Challa's hands.

"Do you, Everett, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to live together in matrimony, to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?"

Everett squeezed T'Challa's hands once before stating loudly, "I do."

Zuri turned to T'Challa. "And do you, T'Challa, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to live together in matrimony, to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?"

One tear rolled down T'Challa's cheek before he said, "I do." Everett reached up to wipe off the tear.

T'Challa turned his head and kissed the heel of Everett's hand.

"Now. Time for the rings. Shuri?"

Shuri came over and placed the rings in the opposite owner's hands.

"A ring is an unbroken circle, with ends that have been joined together, representing your union. It is a symbol of infinity and of your infinite love. When you look at these rings on your hands, be reminded of this moment, your commitment, and the love you now feel for each other.

Everett, place the ring on T'Challa's finger and repeat after me:

T'Challa, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love with the pledge: to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever."

Everett repeated the vow and slipped the ring on T'Challa's finger.

"And now, my King, place the ring on Everett's finger and repeat after me:

Everett, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love with the pledge: to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever."

T'Challa did the same.

"Before these witnesses, you have pledged to be joined in marriage. You have now sealed this pledge with your wedding rings. By the authority vested in me by the great panther goddess Bast, I now pronounce you husband and husband!"

The tribes cheered.

"Please, kiss your bride."

T'Challa surged forwards, pressing his lips against Everett's. Bringing a hand up to rest on T'Challa's cheek, Everett smiled.

Something flashed before them, and they broke apart to look at Shuri. She stared at them with an innocent look and said, "What? I can't not take of picture of this."

Everett smiled at looked back at his husband. "Time to celebrate, yeah?"

But first, pictures.

"I believe it is time to dance. Beloved?" T'Challa looked down at Everett as he stood. He held out his hand, and Everett took it. Pulling him onto the dance floor, he spoke. "I believe there is a tradition in America that the new couple is the first to dance. And I believe I have found the perfect song."

Everett smiled. "What is it?"

T'Challa grinned at someone behind him. "Shuri? Could you hit play, please?"

"On it!"

The song started with an upbeat tune and what sounded like a xylophone.

Before you came into my life
Everything was black and white
Now all I see is colour
Like a rainbow in the sky
So, tell me your love will never fade
That I won't see no clouds of grey
'Cause I don't want another
You bring colour to my life, baby

Everett gasped.

Life was so heavy, I was giving up, na-na
But since you came along, I'm light as a feather, ah
You give me something incredible, sensational, baby
When we're together, everything is better
My darling

Only you can brighten up my day
You make everything change, you rearrange
So don't go away
Let me tell ya

T'Challa slipped his hand around to rest on his love's lower back.

Before you came into my life
Everything was black and white
Now all I see is colour
Like a rainbow in the sky
So tell me your love will never fade
That I won't see no clouds of grey
'Cause I don't want another
You bring colour to my life, baby

Everett rested his head on T'Challa's chest and closed his eyes.

Now all I see is colour
You bring colour to my life, baby

Now all I see is colour
You bring colour to my life, baby

I never thought that I would meet anybody
Who knows my body how you know my body (ah, yeah)
I can't deny it, see I stick around 'cause we paint the town
Anyway that we want it
Like red and yellow and pink and green (shit)
That's what I see when you're here with me
Everything is brighter 'cause the limit is the sky
Baby, that's the way you make me feel
You know that

T'Challa hummed along.

Only you can brighten up my day, yeah
You chase all those grey clouds away
(You chase all those clouds away)
You helped me find a brand new shade of me (me)
You make everything change, you rearrange
So don't ever fade (don't fade)
Don't fade, don't fade, don't fade
You bring the colour, you bring the colour
Yeah, you bring the colour (oh, yeah)

Everett pushed down the tears that threatened to fall.

Before you came into my life
Everything was black and white
Now all I see is colour
Like a rainbow in the sky
So, tell me your love will never fade
That I won't see no clouds of grey
'Cause I don't want another
You bring colour to my life, baby (to my life)

"Quite catchy, isn't it?" T'Challa whispered. Everett squeezed his hand in some form of agreement.

Before you came into my life
Everything was black and white
(Now all I see is colour)
Now all I see is colour
(Now, all I see, I see, yeah)
Like a rainbow in the sky
So, tell me your love will never fade
(Tell me, tell me, tell me)
That I won't see no clouds of grey
(Tell me, tell me, tell me)

The tears started falling. Everett closed his eyes tighter.

Now all I see is colour
You bring colour to my life, baby
Red and yellow and pink and green
That's what I see when you're with me
You bring the colour
(Now all I see is colour)
You bring the colour
You bring colour to my life, baby
Aah
Na-na-na-na, na-na
Now all I see is colour
You bring colour to my life, baby

The song ended, and Everett's face was shining.

"Beloved. Darling. Look at me." T'Challa hooked his thumb under Everett's chin and tilted his face to look at T'Challa. "I love you. You know that, right?"

Everett blushed. "Yes, of course, T'Challa. I love you, too."

The King leaned down to kiss his husband, slowly growing heated.

They pulled apart, Everett's lips red and slightly swollen.

T'Challa smirked.

"You look so pretty like that, dear." Everett blushed again and bit his lip.

"Like this?"

T'Challa laughed and grabbed his hand. "Would you like some cake?"

"Are you gonna shove it in my face?"

"That is the tradition. Shall we?" Offering his elbow, as his mom did, he grinned.

Everett took it and grinned back. "We shall."

Shuri got some good pictures out of that.
