Mobius and Loki - Part 2
_Can anyone hear something? - Tilly whispered and to the guard were answered several "no", followed by low whistles for silence.
He held back a laugh, clasping his hands to his face as he shook his head effusively.
As soon as the former Pharaoh and the Roman General left, almost the entire Museum had gathered at the door of the library, because a certain big mouth moai had blurted out that he had seen Loki run like crazy towards that place, with him and Jedediah chasing the God.
So now he had the Huns, the Vikings, Dexter, Columbus, Tilly, some of the Neanderthals, Ahkmenrah, the cowboys, the Romans, and even the Civil War soldiers, all resting their ear on the door behind which were Loki and Mobius.
He lowered his hands, still holding back his laughter, as Nick's phone camera rang to his side, which was obviously keeping track of the pandemonium.
_Loki is going to kill us, if he realizes that they are spying on him.
He told Jedediah and Octavius since they had both decided to remain located in his jacket pocket.
_Nah. I don't think so, amigo - Jedediah commented – He has more important things to take care of right now.
_I agree, my liege. Our son and his partner have too much to talk about to be paying attention to trifles like that - added the Roman.
_Then why do you look at that door as if you wanted to go through it with your eyes? - he asked as he contemplated the General's expression.
_Hey, gigantor. Be a little more tactful - Jed said, kicking him inside his pocket.
_Auch! Why did you do that?! - he asked, narrowing his eyes.
_Loki will be fine, Octavius - Nick said approaching him - Don't make that face, you look like dad.
Oh.
He had forgotten.
The Norse God had been adopted by those two.
_I'm sorry, Octavius - he said then.
_ There is no reason to apologize - sighed the Roman - I knew in advance that if I gave him the title it would be moments like this.
_Kids - Jedediah observed holding the hand of his partner - They never stop giving headaches, right?
_They have their moments
He admitted, as Nick rolled his eyes and the former Pharaoh and his wife laughed softly as they finished listening to the conversation.
-----------------------------------------------------
In all honesty, he had expected a slap.
When he saw him release one of his arms and bring his hand to his face, he had closed his eyes and had prepared himself for the physical and spiritual pain that the totally deserved release of the analyst was going to cause him.
Because... how could he be so stupid as to believe that he might have a chance after letting him go?
Mobius was not Larry and he was not Ahkmenrah.
He had let the man from TVA return to a very dangerous place alone, unaided and convinced that he was leaving with someone else he loved instead of him.
What deluded moron could think that it was okay to ask him for a hug as soon as he saw him again?
The analyst must have been furious with him.
Much more so than when he locked him in the loop prison after their discussion in the theater of time.
At that moment, Mobius only suspected something was happening with Sylvie.
And he had stabbed him with arguments that, over time, had been true in almost every word.
Now… now he surely wanted to take it out in a similar way with whoever had caused him pain.
But, while he tried to prepare his soul for the coup de grace that this punishment would cause him, he had not realized that the other had simply moved his hair and held his neck to bring it closer to his face and seize his lips.
He had opened his eyes in amazement at this action and for a few moments he had not reciprocated the kiss, since his brain could not believe what was happening.
Mobius.
The always correct and measured Mobius.
His Mobius.
The one who remembered him.
The one with which he had chase Sylvie.
He who had believed in him to the point of sacrificing his existence in the only place he had ever called home and who, based only on his words, had decided to return to it, as he had said: "to burn it to the ground"... he was kissing him.
With his eyes closed and an indisputable smile on his face.
By the norns.
Is it that his life would finally be smiling at him after so many misfortunes?
He thought taking his trembling hands to the other's face to hold him and begin to return the kiss he received with all the intensity and feeling that he could muster.
Mobius brought his hands to his and held onto his wrists, sighing in delight, which made him gasp.
The analyst was fully on board with the idea of making out as a teenager in a museum library with him.
What's more, he seemed happy to do so.
Mobius was happy kissing him.
The greatest epiphany of his existence.
Which, naturally, after weeks of tension and emotional ups and downs, ended up breaking him, cutting off the kiss as he fell to his knees at the analyst's feet, bursting into tears that he had contained for too long.
----------------------------------------------------
_Loki, no ... - he whispered seeing the God on his knees crying inconsolably - Don't cry. I'm fine. You are well. We are together.
It broke his heart to see the proud God so vulnerable.
They had been right. Jedediah, Larry, the old Pharaoh, Octavius.
Loki had missed him and suffered too much.
No one collapsed the way God had collapsed had they not been through horrendous times.
He stroked his hair thinking that, if he had been in his place, having lost everything, being betrayed by who you thought was your ally, thinking that you would never see the person you loved again, because you woke up in a reality from which you could not flee because you did not have the means, it would also have broken like that.
He took a deep breath and knelt in front of his stubborn Asgardian smiling at him.
Loki didn't need more sadness.
He needed affection.
He needed that someone reassure him that things were going to get better.
He needed to get the ground back under his feet.
In short, he needed to hear the words that he had always avoided saying.
_I love you - he said wiping his cheeks - I love you, Loki. Everything will be fine.
The God opened his mouth in amazement upon hearing it and he had to shake his head as he chuckled.
The fool had not thought that he had kissed him, precisely, because he felt something for him.
So, sighing, he grabbed the collar of his jacket and brought his face close to his.
_I love you Loki. You understand? I love you and you better prepare to have me in your life for many years, because I am not Sylvie. I'm going to stay with you.
When he finished saying that to the Asgardian, there was a shriek behind the door and several voices asking someone named Tilly to “don’t speak so louder that they could hear her”, which made him laugh out loud, before kissing the God again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
He was going to kill them all.
Seriously.
He could perfectly imagine what was happening behind the door.
It was probably more than half a museum there.
But… it would be on another time.
At that moment, he just wanted to hug the analyst as he did now, while he reciprocated his kiss with all his might.
Mobius loved him.
He had told him.
And it had also made it clear to him that he was not Sylvie.
That he was going to stay by his side for many years.
Many years.
_I ... I'm not someone easy to love - he said in a whisper when they barely parted looking into his eyes.
_I know. That is something that I have very clear - answered the analyst.
_But you want to stay with me - he observed.
_I was never a person well known for not taking risks, Loki - Mobius reminded him, wiping his cheeks of his tears again.
_We have no way to go back.
_I am aware of it.
_Here we are considered "attractions".
_There we were variants. From my point of view, honey, it's an improvement.
_We cannot leave this place, Ahkmenrah...
_The son of the old Pharaoh.
_Merenkahre. Do you know him?
_Loki. I was talking to him and your adoptive father when you arrived.
_Octavius, yes. No, I didn't remember...
_That they were with me, right?
The analyst chuckled when he felt him growl.
The Roman was going to scold him if he found out.
Especially after he had encouraged him before leaving.
_You have a new father with a very bad mood - Mobius pointed out, getting up and extending his hand to help him up as well.
_Tell me, please, that he did not threaten you - he asked a little scared because the Roman could be very intimidating despite his height.
_Not exactly - Mobius clarified, picking up a scroll from the table to give it to him.
He opened it and read it quickly.
_Legatus Legionis? - he asked surprised.
_Your father considered that not having a certain rank, made me feel inferior and prevented me from telling you what I felt about you, so he decided to eliminate the problem.
_That makes no sense.
_It was true.
_Mobius! – he exclaimed in amazement - I'm not a noble! I'm just Loki! Odin took away my title of Prince and I was never part of the royal house of Jotunheim!
_For heaven's sake, Loki - said the analyst putting a hand to his forehead, and then placing both on the sides of his waist - Thor gave you back the title. He renamed you Prince before Valkyrie assumed the throne and she ratified his choice. You are still a part of the royal house of Asgard with full rights and, as far as I know, today you are by adoption the Caesar successor to Emperor Augustus.
_That has nothing to do with this - he explained crossing his arms - I am still the same Loki that you met as a variant and who, at that time, had no title.
_You don't have to have one, Loki - Mobius murmured - Just... look at you. Please. You are light years away from the type of people who would deign to look at me as a couple. You are… you are tremendously beautiful and intelligent and absurdly creative and… you don't even see it.
_But... you are too - he said stammering when he heard the analyst's statements.
_I'm a normal person - sighed this sitting in one of the chairs - that until recently did a boring office job, with the occasional field trip, that was dedicated to filling papers while reading about jetskis. Damn it Loki, I dress in brown and wear shirts that are probably more than half a century old from when they were fashionable. I don't know, frankly, I don't know what you see in me.
He blinked in shock at his words and moved one of the chairs to sit in front of him holding his hands.
_I ... I see an incredible person, who has the biggest heart I know and who was capable of what no one before was capable of. To accept me as I am and to love me without pretending that I will change or without blaming me for not being able to do it - he assured him - I do not need you to be perfect a la Asgardian. I need you to be you. I like you like that.
_Still with out of fashion clothes and white hair? - asked the analyst smiling.
_The clothes, it is something we can change, this is a Museum, you cand find everything here - he clarified, returning the smile - The hair, no, for me it is perfect as it is.
_Although it’s a little long?
_It was too short before; I prefer you have it like this.
Mobius shook his head widening his smile to meet his eyes again.
_So, despite everything that I am not, Loki, do you agree to be by my side from now on?
His heart threatened to almost jump out of his chest in those moments.
He had dreamed of that question.
Too many nights
_Yes - he answered sincerely - I agree.
But before sealing their engagement with a new kiss, the library door suddenly opened and fell sprawled inside the room, as he had predicted, half of the Museum.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
He had come to cry with laughter.
That place was a circus.
A magnificent and delusional circus.
With everything and animals.
Loki, of course, hadn't found it amusing and had risen from his chair to address the scattered spies in a scolding tone.
_Do not any of you understand what privacy is? The door was closed! You should be ashamed of it! Ahkmenrah, you are a Pharaoh! Tilly, you are a security guard! I can expect that attitude of everyone else, although I don't excuse them, but from... you too Doctor McPhee?!
He had gotten up then, still laughing, when he saw that the people who his God was scolding were profusely apologizing and that, really, they look like they were sorry, to hold one of his hands and slightly tug on it so that he would pay attention.
_Do not get mad at them. They were worried about you.
_It is not an excuse.
_No, it is not, but if you love me, you will forgive them for having interfered a little, after all, from what I understand, we owe them to be together, right?
Loki pursed his lips in agreement.
_Introduce me - he suggested - We will have time to continue what we were doing.
The God rolled his eyes but smiled, leaning down to give him a brief kiss on the lips that made the audience exclaim several expressions of joy that made him laugh again.
_Enough, as if you had never seen someone kiss - Loki said turning to see them - We are not the only couple around here. Three days ago, Jedediah starred in a much more exhibitionist one and there was less scandal.
_That's because ol’ Jedediah knows how to ride a bronco, boy! You are just learning! It is normal for people to be amazed at that!
He felt the cowboy shouting at him from the guard's jacket pocket, while his Roman General husband tried to cover his mouth and almost everyone present, along with him, burst into laughter.
