Delicate

Is it cool that I said all that?

Is it chill that you're in my head?

'Cause I know that it's delicate

The air was thick with anticipation Maya stood nervously by the door of Carina’s hotel room, her palms sweaty and heart racing. She was fidgeting with her wedding ring, it had been a few days since she last saw her wife. Things were going well between them, they’ve been going out on dates, Maya dropped by the hospital with coffee and sometimes lunch when she knew her wife would be too busy and forget to eat.

Maya had been going to her weekly sessions with Diane, taking the first steps towards healing had been challenging but she knew she had a long journey towards healing, there was something she wanted to talk to her wife about and it was making her nervously

Taking a deep breath before knocking, she waits.

The door swings open, and there she was - Carina, looking just as stunning as the day we first met, a shy smile on her face.Relief washes over Maya and she feels the nerves melting away.

“Hey” Carina says, stepping aside to let Maya in.

“Hi, you look beautiful,” Maya says softly, closing the door behind her.

Carina glances at Maya in surprise "Stop it," she mumbles, waving her hand in a dismissive gesture.

"No, really, you look absolutely stunning." Maya insists, shaking her head.

Carina looks down, blushing. "Thank you," she murmurs, her voice barely above a whisper.

“I’m sorry if that was too much” Maya mumbles going back to fiddle with her wedding ring.

"No, no, it's not that," she says, quickly. "It's just...it's been a while." Carina says

Maya nods, understanding a sad smile on her lips. "I know," she says. "But I want to make things right between us. And I thought...maybe this could be a good start."

Carina smiles at Maya "Thank you," she says her voice soft. "It means a lot to me.”

Maya was standing in the middle of the hotel room, while Carina sat on the bed, looking at her intently.

“There was something I wanted to talk to you about” Maya finally says, her fingers fidgeting with her wedding ring, twisting it around and around on her finger.

Carina motions for her to sit down next to her on the bed, “you can tell me anything”

She sits down next to her wife and takes a deep breath before turning to face her wife. "I’ve been seeing Diane once every week, it’s going great but I was wondering.. would you uh be interested in coming with me to a few of my sessions. We talked about solidifying our foundation. I want to do it right this time and I hurt you and said some very hurtful things and taking things slow has been helpful but I feel like there's still some things that we need to work through, some things that I need to apologize for and make right. I think it could be helpful for you to come with me, so we can talk about what happened and how we can move forward." Maya rambles

Carina stares at her wife taking in the word and she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the positive change she’s seeing in her wife. It was like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders, and she was finally able to breathe again. This was her Maya, the woman she had fallen in love with. The one who had stolen her heart with her wit, her charm. She could see the spark back in those baby blue eyes that had first drawn her to the blonde.

Maya was saying things she thought she would never hear and a sudden surge of overwhelming love flooded over her. It was like a wave crashing onto the shore, but instead of water, it was a torrent of emotions.

Without thinking, she leans over and kisses Maya. It was a quick, gentle kiss, but it had the effect of cutting her off mid-sentence. “Si I’ll come” Carina says softly, pulling back slightly.

“Huh” Maya murmurs, blinking in confusion.

Carina chuckles “I said I’ll come to your sessions”

Maya groans “I uh got that, the kiss what was that for”

Carina shrugs sheepishly “You were rambling and I just wanted to kiss you, there’s something I wanted to talk to you about too”

Maya tenses “okay” she says trying to keep her voice steady, “what is it?”

Carina places her hand on Maya’s arm “I’m ready to come home”

Maya's head whips towards her wife, eyes widen in surprise, and for a moment, she doesn't know what to say. "Really?" she finally manages to ask.

Carina smiles and nods “I’m ready to go home bambina, I miss you and I see all the effort you’re putting in and I think we’ve taken our time but I don’t anymore time I just want to come home”

"Really?" Maya asks, needing to hear it again.

“Si, you are my home bambina and I don’t want to spend another day apart” Carina replies. “Oh one more thing” she says standing up and heading towards the nightstand. She picks up her wedding ring that she hadn’t worn in weeks.

“I’m ready,” she says, turning around with the ring in hand.

Maya’s heart skips a beat and she quickly stands up and walks towards her wife. “Here let me” she says softly looking into Carina’s eyes waiting for her permission, she gets a slight nod. She takes the ring in her hand and lifts her wife's hand and places a kiss to the back of her hand.

Maya slowly gets down on one knee and takes a deep breath, she hears Carina gasps

“Carina” she says, her voice trembling. “I know I haven't been the best wife lately. I've been distant and closed off, and I know that's not fair to you.”

Looking up at her wife whose eyes are filled with tears "But I want to make it right," Maya continues, her determination growing stronger.

"Carina, will you give me another chance? Will you let me put this ring back on your finger as a symbol of my commitment to our marriage and to making things right?”

Tears stream down Carina’s face as she nods her head. "Si, Maya. I want to try again. I love you."

Maya slips the ring back onto Carina's finger, feeling a sense of relief and hope wash over her. As she stands up, Carina pulls her into a tight embrace, both of them holding each other as they cry tears of both sadness and joy.

"I can't believe you went all out with the proposal this time. You really know how to make a girl feel special." Carina teases as they pull back from each other’s embrace.

"I had to make up for our last impromptu proposal, didn't I? Maya cheekily replies earning a playful swat.

“I love you Maya” Carina whispers before leaning in to kiss her wife.

The kiss is soft at first, tentative, but quickly it becomes intense as they lose themselves in the moment. The kiss becomes deeper, more urgent, and Carina couldn't help but let out a soft moan as Maya pulls her closer.

Finally, breathless and dizzy with desire, they pull away from each other, their eyes meeting in the dim light. They were both panting, their bodies still trembling with the intensity of their kiss.

“Cazzo Maya, bed now” Carina groans against Maya’s lips pushing her wife towards the bed.
