The weather wasn't normally this excruciatingly cold during the winter, but the Snow King's herald didn't give a damn for once as she sat on a bench watching the students of Arendelle University preparing for their winter break.
She looked at the last few cars in the parking lot. There was a dark-skinned bald man in a police uniform waiting by an Impala speaking to a handsome professor in a purple dress shirt and khakis.
The herald felt a bit of a pull to the beautiful professor as if she wanted to walk up to him and introduce herself. She smiled lovingly at him until she was interrupted by a new presence: a young woman in a F/C baseball tee and grey yoga pants coming by to greet the professor and the bald man, who pulled a varsity jacket from the window of the Impala upon seeing the student shiver a bit from the cold weather.
Thank the gods the herald had enhanced hearing.
"Y/N M/N L/N, I did not come all the motherfucking way from New York to see you shiver in this motherfucking weather." The bald man sassed as he shoved the jacket in the student's arms.
The student rolled her eyes, taking the jacket. "Sure, Uncle Nick..." She seemed to say.
As soon as the girl lifted her arm, the herald's green eyes widened and she pulled out her phone, zooming in on the girl's arm and frantically taking multiple photos. As soon as the herald was done, she looked through the photos and knew the student was the one. The intricate silvery-blue floral design stood out against her S/C skin. The herald looked up again just in time for the student to look around the campus. Thankfully, the student didn't notice that the herald was taking additional photos of her face.
As soon as the student got inside the Impala, the herald looked through the photos showing the younger woman's face, while muttering the student's name.
It was her. The young woman that the Snow King's soul was bound to.
The herald quickly shoved her phone inside her satchel, slung it over her shoulder, and ran far from the campus until she found herself in the middle of a dark forest. She turned around to check if she was followed. Thankfully, she wasn't.
At that moment, she wondered how her master would feel about an ordinary human as his soulmate while she tapped her foot three times on a flat piece of stone. The herald backed away as a white door materialized upwards. It opened on its own, welcoming the herald home.
The herald stepped inside, pulling her phone out and unlocking it to prepare for the presentation.
It was dark inside the throne room, so the herald summoned a light to illuminate the room and present herself to her master and friend.
"Natalia," a husky voice echoed through the throne room.
"Hold your horses, big guy," Natalia answered with a smirk, "I'm here."
A moment of hesitation and the voice continued. "Did you find them? My soulmate?"
"I did." Natalia gave the Snow King the name of his soulmate and proceeded to send the photos with one hand. A ping of a notification resounded through the throne room and Natalia saw his face briefly illuminated by his own phone while a smile tugged at his pink lips.
"I've finally found you, my queen." The Snow King whispered, drawing a finger over the photo.
