As glad as he is to be united with his friend Mobius, Loki feels the loss of Sylvie deeply. Being here on Lamentis, where they first got to know each other makes him miss her even more that he thought he ever could.
“Cheer up friend” says Mobius. “It might never happen” he says gesturing to the planet that’s being pulled towards the moon.
Loki laughs and says: “It will, but luckily we won’t have to create a Nexus event this time to be rescued.”
“That Nexus event,” says Mobius, “did I ever tell you my theory about it?”
Loki laughs, ready for Mobius’s quips about how Loki had fallen for himself and that it had broken reality. But Mobius says: “I think your Nexus event was both of you realising at the same time that you could love and be loved back. That being a Loki didn’t mean being alone, and it created a new path for you both.”
“Not quite” says Loki. What HWR said runs though his mind: they were told that everything was set out for them, that he had paved the way for them. The TVA probably arrived at that moment because that was when HWR was ready for them to be found. He stops the thought, he doesn’t want to consider that HWR had set the whole thing up.
Assuming that Loki is just deflecting from the claim that he and Sylvie were in love, Mobius doesn’t push it any further. He senses that something had happened between the two. He asks the question again: “Where is Sylvie?”
Loki signs. “I don’t know.” He doesn’t want to tell Mobius everything that happened at the Citadel; he isn’t sure if he would be able to keep himself together while reliving it.
Mobius senses that Loki is holding back: “Tell me what happened,” he says.
“We met the man behind it all. It turns out he is one of many variants, and likely one of the better options. He took control of the timeline in order to stop his other variants. He wanted us to take over from him. He said he was tired. But Sylvie was so angry. She couldn’t see beyond her need to stop him - the one who caused her a lifetime of pain. He removed her reality and all those who she loved and who loved her.”
“I tried to stop her. We fought.” He pauses, in his head he adds “we kissed and for a brief moment I had everything I had ever wanted”…
“She pushed me through a portal - back to the TVA. I don’t know what happened next, but I have to assume she killed him because, well, I don’t think he is the one in charge any more.”
“I don’t know where she is now and I don’t know if she even wants to see me again. If she doesn’t we’ll never find her. You might have noticed, she’s good at hiding.”
Mobius thinks for a few minutes and then says: “You think she pushed you away because she didn’t want you, but she did it because she didn’t want to hurt you.”
Loki shrugs and says: “She doesn’t know I know that”.

Wanda is looking at the tempad. “I keep thinking that given that you had no way of setting it and no idea of where it would send you it’s rather lucky that you ended up here. Right where you needed to be.”
“If it was going to send me where I wanted to go it would have sent me to Loki” says Sylvie. She spoke the words without thinking.
“I know what it’s like to lose your soulmate” says Wanda “I lost mine more than once.”
Wanda knows her relationship with Vision wasn’t normal, but she imagines that Sylvie can probably identify with it. “This is going to sound a bit odd,” she confesses, “but I loved an Android who was kind of a part of me.”
“He is gone now though. I can’t get him back. But believe me I would do anything if it meant I could spend another day with him,” she adds.
Lost in thought momentarily, Wanda shakes her head and says: “I’m starting to think you and me have quite a lot in common”.
“I think you might be right,” Sylvie smiles. “It feels like I was supposed to meet you Wanda. I think the tempad bought me to you for a reason. It could have sent me anywhere, but this is the path it set me on. I thought the guy who took away free will was gone, but it looks like this tempad is continuing to pave the way.”
“The question is,” Wanda interjects, “will you let it guide you on the path it seems to want you to take.”
“I don’t know what choice I have. It’s follow it’s path, or do nothing? And I have to do something. Let’s see where it wants me to go… are you coming?”
“Yes,” says Wanda.
