Loki ~ I hate you

"Oh come on, (Y/N), you know damn well it was your fault," Loki snaps, cleaning his daggers.

"It's my fault for making sure you don't get killed on your first mission? Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you would be happy to still be alive," I retort as Bruce stitches a cut on my arm. "God, I hate you." I glare at him one more time before I mutter, "prick."

"Dumbass," he replies, tossing his bloodied cloth to the side.

"Can you two not fight for once?" Tony asks from the pilot's chair. "C'mon, this is getting ridiculous."

"He's yelling at me for protecting him and saving his royal ass, Tones! What do you expect me to do, sit there like a lump and take his bullshit?!" In case you didn't notice, Tony is my best friend. We practically grew up together, and I was there for him when his parents were killed. "I don't work like that, Stark. You know that."

"We're back!" Steve yells over our arguing. "How's your side and chest?" I dismiss his question and walk off the jet to my other best friend, Sam Wilson, Steve right behind me. "Sam, you will never believe the dumb shit that your friend did today."

"She got stabbed and or shot, didn't she?" I pull off my loose T-shirt that was put on me when I was being stitched up. "You did 'er good, (Y/N)."

"I know. It's all Loki's fault, really," I remark, shooting a glare at the muscular, sleek god. Damn. Where did that come from? "I was on direct orders from Fury to not let Loki get killed on his first mission with the team, so I couldn't exactly disobey them." As much as I wanted to.

No you didn't.

Huh?

You didn't want to disobey orders.

Loki, get the fuck out of my head, you creep.

Not until I learn the truth.

The truth- what "truth" do you speak of, oh God of Mischief and Lies? And did I mention lies?

The truth about you and your... infatuation with me.

What the- what the fuck?! Infatuation?! Really?! That's all you could come up with? I'm disappointed in you, Odinson.

"Do not call me that!" I knew that would catch a nerve.

"Oh yeah? Try me, Odinson," I say with a smirk. He walks up to me and picks me up by the throat, clearly expecting a reaction of sorts. All I'm doing is sitting here, staring at him with one eyebrow raised. "Any other scare tactics you'd like to try? I'm all ears," I snark, and he shoves me against the wall, knocking the oxygen out of my lungs. "Still- not- working," I choke out as I regain the ability to breathe. Loki drops me, and I land in a heap on the floor, Tony and Sam rushing to my side.

"Watch the bullet wounds, dumbass," Tony says as he checks the one on my side. "She also has cracked ribs. Idiot."

"Don't fret, Stark. I know what her ailments are. I'm just seeing how much she can handle," Loki casually says, shooing away my friends.

"I have a high pain tolerance, so this may take a while," I point out.

"Good. I planned on taking my time with you." Loki's voice is sultry as I scan his features for any hint of disdain or disgust. All I found was anger, and something I couldn't identify.

"Let the games begin, I suppose."

It's been three hours of solid aggression. Loki (being Loki) has worn my body to its end, hotwiring every nerve to full sensitivity. My mind, however, is still intact. No fractures. No cracks.

Just solid.

Until now.

"Drink this," Loki spits, shoving a glass in my face that's filled with what looks like water. But, I know Loki too well to know that this in my hand is truth serum. "Now."

"And if I don't?" He's silent for once. He's formulating a plan, though. I can see it in his eyes and the way he smirks.

"There will be punishments. Consequences. But if you comply, you'll get a reward." What does he have up his sleeve now? "Oh you haven't figured it out yet? Don't worry, you'll find out soon enough."

Handcuffs.

Knives.

Terrifying mental images.

Questions that I have to answer because of the truth serum.

It's all coming. I can feel it.

"So, (Y/L/N), are you going to drink it?" Looking the god in the eye, I knock the serum back like a shot of whiskey without hesitation. "Good. It will take a few minutes to kick in, so prepare yourself. Prepare for the worst."

"Oh, I'm so scared I'm shaking in my knee high leather boots," I snap, and he laughs menacingly.

"You should be. I will know everything about you, pet. Everything from your fears to your deepest, darkest secrets. Don't worry darling."

"I'm not." All of a sudden, I feel searing pain across my cheek. "Ooh, so scary. I got slapped. If you want to break me, try harder."

His beating goes for what feels like hours but I know is only ten minutes maximum.

"That should do the trick. Now, (Y/N), are you attracted to someone?" You've got to be kidding me. "I assure you that I am not, darling." The serum coursing through my brain tries to open my mouth to speak, but I try to fight it but fail miserably.

"I- damn it!- am- no! Shut up!- attra- STOP!" I bite down on my shirt to keep from opening my mouth. "Attracted to someone," I mumble through the fabric.

"Really? Who might it be?" Loki inquires with a smirk. He knows exactly what he's doing. He paces leisurely in front of me, hands clasped together like a royal would have them.

I take a deep breath, both mad and relieved to get this off my chest. "It's you, you dumbass."

Loki stops in his tracks.

"I beg your pardon?"

"You heard me," I answer smoothly, working the handcuffs on my wrists. "It's the biggest idiot I know. His Highness, Prince Loki Laufeyson of Asgard." His mouth open and closes in confusion as I laugh. "I'm not lying to you. I can't, remember?" He nods, and I can see the gears turning. Oh, they're sparking! They're on fire! There's smoke! Run, crazy voices in his head, run!

"Will you cut that out?!" His eyes are glittering dangerously as he gets closer and closer, stopping two inches in front of me, maximum. "Stop making fun of me. Mewling quim."

"Oh, I thought you only reserved that name for 'inferior beings', Elsa," I retort, licking my lips in anticipation.

Apparently that was the last straw.

Our lips connect in a fierce kiss, him gripping my face as my hands tangle in his hair, free from the handcuffs he put me in.

"Well then, it's a good thing I'm attracted to you too, (Y/N). Or else we would have quite the situation on our hands," Loki says as he pulls back, removing his hands from my face and examining my wrists to make sure I wasn't hurt too badly. "Your uncle would not be pleased with me if I were to render you unable to function. I'm impressed you got out of the handcuffs."

"Yeah, Rhodey would die," I agree, standing up on shaky legs. "Come on, let's go back to the commons. Everyone will probably want to know everything. And thank you." I take a step and collapse, soon to be lifted off the ground and into Loki's arms bridal style.

"(Y/N)! Are you okay?!" Rhodey yells, walking as fast as he can in his robotic legs.

"I'm fine, Uncle Rhodey. Just a little wobbly, is all," I assure him, tapping Loki so he can put me down.

"Good," he says, pulling me into a hug, checking that I'm in one piece.

"James, I have something to request of you," Loki interrupts softly, placing one hand on my back. "I would like permission to escort your niece on a date in two days' time. I promise you that I will not do anything to bring her harm or heartbreak."

"BREAK HER HEART AND I'LL KILL YOU!" Tony yells from somewhere in the compound.

"Godfathers," I sigh, and look at Rhodey. "What do you say?" He looks skeptically at Loki and then turns to the blonde Asgardian, whispering something in his ear. Thor nods solemnly, and my uncle turns back to us.

"You have my permission. But just know that I'll have everyone kill you twice if you hurt her in any way," Rhodey threatens. Loki nods and hugs me from behind, resting his chin on my head.

"Thank you Uncle Rhodey!" I cry, and give him a hug. He hugs me back and looks me in the eye.

"You're welcome, (Y/N/N). Just remember-"

"I know, I know. Watch my six," I finish, and he grins.

"I've taught you well." I hear a snap and we're in my bedroom, Loki pinning me against the wall.

"You've been a good girl, darling. I think I'll reward you," Loki drawls, and I spin around, twisting out of his grip.

"Not now, buddy. Maybe later when the team is gone," I laugh. "Besides, you've got an issue to take care of." I gesture to his lower half, and he goes crimson.

"I hate you."
