The small yellow house was a dream compared to Steve’s cramped little apartment in the city, Peggy had bought the house after leaving Brooklyn for D.C. to run S.H.I.E.L.D. with Howard, and she had chosen a comfortable enough spot to settle for the last several decades.
Hauling in the last box as the moving van pulled away from the curb, Steve smiled look around at the boxes that were scattered around him in the living room.
It only made sense that he was moving in with Peggy, now that he was in the future. Times were different now, it was still a bit of a scandal that Peggy was moving in a younger man, but neither of them seemed to care a wit what anyone else thought about the situation.
“Peg, will you come help unpack the boxes?” Steve called opening a box of kitchen stuff as he spoke.
He glanced up when Peggy walked in, his silver-streaked beauty smiling at him, she still took his breath away whenever he saw her.
“The boxes can wait, Darling.” Peggy said pulling Steve away from the box, arms looping around his neck as she smiled up at him.
“For now, let’s turn on the radio and welcome you home properly, after all...” her eyes sparkled in that way that stole the air from his lungs.
“You still owe me a dance.”
