From the moment Peggy and Steve found out they were pregnant they did nothing but research the effects of late in life pregnancy, they made sure to attend every doctors appointment.
But still they worried, there was only so much the doctors could tell them and the risk was high.
As Peggy’s due date approached, the stress only seemed to increase. Steve held her hand as the doctors checked her over.
“I think you’re ready for delivery any day now, Mrs. Rogers.” The doctor said, as he finished his examination.
“And the baby?” Steve asked apprehensively, as Peggy squeezed his hand.
“As far as I can tell, the baby looks like it has developed normally, we’ll just have to wait and see.” As the doctor left the room to allow Peggy to get dressed, Steve pressed a kiss to Peggy’s forehead.
“It’s going to be okay, Peg.” He assured, “our baby is going to be just fine, don’t you worry.”
“But what if they’re not?” Peggy asked wiping her tears away. “What if something happens to the baby, it will be all my fault!”
“If something does happen then we will love our baby anyway, because they are a part of both of us and I will love the both of you until the end of my days.”
