The last thing Steve was aware of was the biting cold and the desire to sleep. The next thing he knew he was waking up, as if from a nap, and he was no longer in the Valkyrie.
The mattress beneath him was far too soft and something was beeping nearby, turning his head to get a better look around him, he spotted a familiar face he never thought he’d see ever again.
“Peggy?” She turned to him, her face was a little older, her beautiful dark curls were starting to gray, and she had laugh lines, but she was still strikingly beautiful.
“Hello, my darling, it’s good to see you again.” Peggy said taking his hand in hers, Steve had so many questions to ask, but for now he was too happy to see her to ask any.
Instead, he just smiled, and squeezed her hand.
“Sorry I’m late.”
