Chapter 6

Ron and Charlie came back at the same time as Fred, George and Lee showed up. Ron's ice cream already melted but she gave it away to a grateful Fred who ate it.

Ron didn't care anymore she was happy with her new wand. She has to find the perfect gift for Charlie because no matter how much money he has now he shouldn't spend it on Ron and honestly she had no idea how to thank Charlie otherwise.

Percy and Ginny sent knowing glances at Ron's new wand, both happy that Ron got the bare minimum that a witch needed. All siblings were fine if not a little unhappy with hand me down books and robes, they got used to it and they silently agreed not complain to mum and dad. Mum usually could patch up clothes to look okay and they have enough Spellotape to fix old books or objects they accidentally broke. What Charlie, Ginny and Percy disliked was mum neglecting Ron's need of a working wand.

"Ronniekins did Char-Char get you the new wand?" Fred asked. Ron nodded awkwardly.

"I don't get why mum couldn't buy it herself. I mean we are poor but two years ago she got both of us our wands." George confirmed something all of them silently thought.

"Yes. It is one wand compared to two and you got your own present for your know it all prefectess." Fred accused Charlie, then looked at Percy accusing him of outperforming and outshining them.

"I got a broom that year I know." Charlie agreed. "We all know what is going on."

"I'm the least favorite. Big deal, I get it." Ron said loudly. All of them were stunned by Ron's words. The twins looked confused by that remark while Ron was punished as often as both of them he still spent more time with mum over the years.

"Not to remind you but who got to cook with mum? You did." Fred continued.

"Also who got a friend over all the time you and Ginny?" George asked.

"It was all because of me. It was never about Ron!" Ginny said darkly. "That we have the same best friend is a coincidence and thanks to her I agreed to the cooking lessons. If not Mum would never let her be part of it."

"What matters for a while she did let him be part of it. We begged her for years to let Lee visit for a few years but she never lets him stay over, same with Bill's friends and pen-pal, Tonks and Oliver Wood, but Luna could visit all the time until she proved to be "bad influence" which is bullshit." Fred said frustrated by the favoritism.

"You answered your question Fred." Ron shot back defensively. "Since Luna is 'barmy' she can't visit and we can't have tea time or even keep in contact. Because she likes creatures only she can see and because I have to be manly."

"You are not manly Ronnekins and that is why we love you." George said seriously. "And don't you ever think you are the least favorite we hold that title proudly."

"We are the troublesome duo who won't have any OWLs." Fred finished. "Because we won't study at all in fifth year." They promised with a wild smile.

"You have to even Zonko requires N.E.W.T. level Potions and Charms and you want to work there right?" Charlie asked knowingly.

"No way!" Both disagreed. "We approve their pranks but until then we will make our own."

"And one day start up a business."

"Sure. I can't wait to see what you two come up with." Charlie encouraged them to Percy's dismay.

"I have to deal with them not you." Percy glared at his brother.

"Can we all agree on one thing?" Ron brought back the discussion to the topic. "Mum won't love me as much after she finds out that I really consider myself a girl."

"Yes but she will have to deal with it." Percy said. "If not you can move in with me when I'm old enough."

"Thanks Perce." Ron smiled brightly.

"The whole girl thing is not just a joke?" Fred asked shocked.

"We thought it was a prank to piss off mum." George used to wonder what was a joke and what was the truth, it seems Ronnie fooled mum better as she turned eleven.

"And a brilliant one. But if it is real then..." Fred looked down sadly.

"We are sorry for the mickey." Both apologized.

"We will stop teasing you about the girl thing." George promised.

"But not about your ickleness." Fred continued to joke.

"From both of you that is more than enough." Ron smiled and the siblings had a more lighthearted discussion.
