Thank you for trusting me
You wake up to Yelena softly playing with your hair. “Good morning принцесса (princess), how are you feeling?” Yelena says when she sees you opening your eyes. You look up to her groggy “Good morning. I’m alright, my heard hurts though” you say as you sit up and rub your forehead. Yelena walks to the bathroom and comes back with a glass of water and some pain meds from the first aid kit. You thank her as you take the medicine and lay back in bed under the covers. “I’m going to get some breakfast, do you want to come with?” Yelena asks. “uhm I don’t really feel like leaving this room” you say as you look at the blonde. “okay you stay here, I’ll bring you back some food”.
You get out of bed to take a shower, hoping that that will help with your headache. When you’re done you slip into some sweats and a hoodie and sit down on your bed and look outside.
[In the kitchen]
Yelena walks into the kitchen where Natasha and Wanda are already eating breakfast. “Hey how is (y/n)?” Wanda asks when she sees Yelena. “she’s doing alright, woke up with a headache though and she doesn’t want to leave her room. That’s why I’m here to get her some breakfast” the blonde smiles. “thank you for taking care of her Yel, tell her that I’m here if she needs anything” Natasha says while putting some food on two plates. “Yeah me too” Wanda joins as she gives Yelena two glasses of orange juice to go with Nat’s breakfast.
[Back in your room]
You hear a soft knock on your door snapping you out of your thoughts. You open the door to Yelena holding a tray with food, “mind if I join you for breakfast?” the girl asks with a small smile. “of course not” you reply with a smile of your own, opening the door further to let Yelena in.
The two of you eat the breakfast burrito’s Nat made. “Can I ask you something?” Yelena asks. “Why did you want me to stay last night?” she continues as you nod. You look down at your plate as you answer her “because you went through the same thing and.. I-I know you wouldn’t judge me for my emotions”. You look up at Yelena, “thank you for trusting me” she says, “but you should know that the others won’t judge you either. I know it’s hard since we’ve been thought that emotions are bad, but they’re not. And I know for a fact that my sister and Wanda would gladly comfort you as well, they’re worried about you. They asked me to tell you that they are there for you, so if you need anything to let them know.” You smile at the fact that these people seem to genuinely care about you.
As you each finish your breakfast Yelena looks at you “do you want to talk about what happened yesterday? You don’t have to, but you can talk to me I’m here.” You look down at the scar your arm. “you almost won that day” you speak with a slight tremble in your voice. “I know, I’m really sorry about what happened” Yelena says softly looking down at her hands folded in her lap. “you don’t have to apologize” you say as you put your hand on her knee “I wasn’t blaming you, I know it wasn’t on purpose” A silence hangs between the two of you, before Yelena speaks “but if the timer hadn’t ran out you would’ve bled to death just because I-I” tears welling up in her eyes. You move your hand from her knee to her shoulder as you pull her in for a hug. “shh it’s okay Lena. Hey I’m still here. You wanted Dreykov to believe you were serious, so you swung your knife. You couldn’t have known that I moved to where your knife flew. Yelena I don’t blame you. Like we said the day we met, we never wanted to hurt each other.” You held the blonde in your arms reassuring her. As someone knocked on your door. You slowly release Yelena out of your arms, wiping away her tears with your thumbs before you get up. You open the door to find Natasha there, “hey (y/n), I just wanted to check up on you”. You hug Natasha as a tear falls from your face. “hey what’s wrong?” she asks as she hugs you tighter “we were talking about the Red Room” you say softly. “hold on, wait here” you let go of Natasha as you walk back into your room to ask Yelena if she would be okay with Natasha joining you two. She nods and you walk back to the door to invite Natasha in. She immediately sees that her sister had been crying too, so she walks over and hugs her tight. You walk back over and lay down on your bed. When you and Yelena have both let out you emotions out, Nat jokes “well you guys sure know how to have fun” you look at Yelena communicating with your eyes then you both look at Nat and each shove one of her shoulders as she falls back on the bed. You high-five Yelena as you both burst out laughing.
