Summary
“I just miss them,” she whispers making you wrap her up in a hug. Why did you have to love her? Why couldn’t friendship be enough? Slowly you take a hold of her hand and bring it to your lips, the action making her give you a small smile. If you’re being honest it was more for you, the feeling of just pretending for a little while that she’s yours to comfort, yours to love.

“What are doing out here so late at night?”

Oh. You never expected to be caught in the common area in the middle of the night with a bottle of whiskey in your hand. You tear your eyes away from the ceiling of the room and force a smile on your face. Her piercing green eyes meet yours and you hope your smile looks real enough.

“I could ask you the same thing,” you tease as the brunette walks over to join you on the table. Not now Wanda please. Her hands play with the ends of her clothes and you instantly know she’s nervous. “Hey what’s wrong?” you softly ask while putting the bottle down and moving to face her. You take in her appearance; her hair tied up in a simple bun, one of your old sweatshirts you gave her, some simple sleep shorts, a small frown on her face, small bags forming under her eyes, a look of sadness , guilt in her eyes. “You can talk to me Wanda, it’s just me.” She lets out a ragged breath before sitting next to you, her head leaning on your shoulder.

“I know you do,” you whisper back while looking into her teary eyes. “They’re proud of you, you know” you mumble against her hair when she moves her head to look away from you.

“You don’t know that,” she manages out, her fingers playing with the invisible thread at the end of your sweatshirt.

“I do,” you say with no hesitation causing her to look at you, “They would be proud of you Wanda. You’re an amazing woman who does everything she can to make others happy, to save other people. If they’re not proud of you for being someone who helps and cares for people, then what would they be proud of?”

“I don’t save people,” she replies and you gently place your fingers on her chin and lift her face to look at you.

“You saved me.” Her eyes soften at your confession and you glance at her lips before the sound of phasing is heard. Your jaw clenches at the noise and you pull away from her earning a frown.

“There you are Wanda,” says Vision as he enters the room to see you both. “Hello Y/n,” he says with a pure intent but all you can feel is jealously over this man, this robot.

“Hey vision,” you greet back before moving to stand, swiping the bottle off the table and into your grasp. “Take care of her for me,” you say earning a nod from the android before walking away to go back to your room, a tight feeling in your chest.

“Wait Y/n,” calls Wanda making you freeze at the door frame. You drop your head slightly before faking a smile again to look at her. “Thank you."
