Conversational
Summary
A collection of tiny, mostly-dialogue scenes between (usually) Sherlock and John. Each chapter is a standalone.I've really just written these for myself and wanted to post them so I don't lose them. They're not Brit-picked. I'll add any new ones as new chapters, so this might never be marked as complete.I like these two as queerplatonic or in an otherwise asexual relationship. These can be gen or slash, depends on your choice of goggles. Also, apparently I'm obsessed with platonic bedsharing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dancing

"Sher?"
"Yes, John."
"When we danced - When you were teaching me, for my wedding."
"Mh."
"You seemed -"
"John."
"...I just - Does it make you happy? Dancing?"
"I love to dance."
"I never see you dance."
"I never have anyone who wants to dance with me."
"Molly would dance with you."
"I'm rude, not cruel."
"Hm...Do you miss it? Dancing?"
"I do."
"...The music you played when you were teaching me, was that what you would play for yourself?"
"It's quite sensible to play waltzes to waltz to."
"Yes but - Is it your favorite style?"
"...Yes, John. I..."
"Hm?"
"...Nothing. Nevermind."
"...The music was special?"
"Hfh."
"Er. Were those your favorite songs?"
"..."
"I'd never heard them before."
"You're not much for Classical pieces."
"I had a mate, in the army, he'd play Classical sometimes."
"Hmh."
"...Were they yours?"
"..."
"Oh, Sher..."

"Welcome back."
"...How did you find it?"
"I'm not actually an idiot, Sherlock. I know your favorite hiding places."
"And why are you playing it?"
"Dance with me."
"John?"
"C'mon. If I couldn't dance with a mate then it would be hard to explain the couple times I went clubbing in Uni."
"Hfh. You?"
"I'm sure they only invited me so they could have a guaranteed driver."
"Hmh."
"Come on, Sherlock. This music's too good to let it be played while nobody dances."
"You really think so?"
"Sher, if I close my eyes I'm sure I'm in some grand ballroom filled with ladies in huge dresses and men in masks. Dance with me."
"I - Right. Alright."
"Mm- You lead."
"You're sure? Don't say it."
"Hmhm. Yeah, Sher. I wanna see you doing something you love. G'on then, sweep me away."
"Ahem...Right then."
...

"You've taken more lessons."
"Ha...Watched a bit on YouTube, applied what you taught me."
"You're...quite good. For a beginner."
"Well. It means something to you. So. I figured I could make an effort."
"Hmm..."
"We should do it again sometime. Maybe have a dance night."
"John?"
"C'mon. We're always doing what I want. We should do something you like too sometimes."
"John. You spend most days following me around London where I engage in my hobby which I happen to be paid for."
"Ha! Yeah. That is true."
"...I would love to keep a night aside for dancing, so long as we are not otherwise occupied."
"Of course. The Work first."
"Of course...John? Thank you."
"Ah, yeah Sher. No worries."
