Summary
Loki is 15 years old, well, 15 midgardian years old, when he falls. He gets plunged into the void, darkness. The place that none have managed to escape, and all who enter, are never seen again. The truth was, he was so...distraught, and so, simply done with life and all it had to offer, tired of the constant torment from his brother, and his brother's friends, as well as the other Asgardians, he just had to leave, so he did. However, things take a rather drastic turn when, instead of dying as he had thought, he ends up in a new world, a world between worlds, a world none knows about, and then also caught up in their version of war, and another dark artifact, with a dark sorcerer. Can he help, but more than that, is he willing to?

It has come to my attention that a specific individual is nitpicking on the validity or accuracy in terms of the mythology and the movie, and the comics of Loki. lets make something clear. for one, Loki and middle earth never existed, and for two, even if they did, Loki never went to Middle Earth. Yall are reading a damn fanfiction that doesn't even happen in the first place. okay? Second, this individual is mixing the different Loki's together and confusing the movie, the comics, and the mythology together, so my guess is they probably aren't actually entirely sure what they're talking about and just arguing for the sake of arguing.

So, lets set the mythology straight here. Loki mothered one child. Sleipneir, that Odin then confiscated and rides as some sort of trophy or some other. This also happened when Odin had a little hissy fit that the crafter he made a bet with was actually going to manage what Odin deemed impossible and he was actually going to have to pay for him. No, we don't know how old Loki was when he birthed Sleipneir.

Now, if we are mixing the mythology and the movies together. In the movies, not the mythology, the movies, in the movies Loki dies at a minimum of 1,054. However this is at odds with the Thor movie, where it is said he is 1070 years old. He didn't time travel, so again, his death date is dependent and it is weird. You need to choose which one you want to go by, because he can't be both 1070 during thor, and 1054 during avengers endgame. Doesn't add up. Basic maths. Now, Thor is believed to be 1,500 years old. At 1,500 he is just over 400 years older than Loki. By the movies, Loki would have already mothered Sleipneir, since we see Odin ride him. No, Loki did not mother the other children in that sense. He only strictly mothered one child, that was then taken from him. He sired the rest, however, Loki would still be considered a mother, and can easily be said to be motherly, or considered a mom to the other children, especially since Loki can literally shapeshift and jotuns are gender fluid.

Jotun, let us be clear, are shapeshifters. Well known shapeshifters, and can shapeshift into humans, and animals depending on the jotun-we know Loki is able to do this. Jotun are known to have weaknesses to godly weapons, and heat...specifically. They are able to manipulate ice, known for feats of great strength, incredibly durable, agile, and immune to cold. Now, the Jotuns are known to live AT LEAST AS LONG as Aesir. That does not mean that they age the same way, mentally, nor does it mean that they mature as fast, or even mean they don't live longer. They are known to live AT LEAST AS LONG. That does not mean they live the same, it merely means that according to known records, and mythology, they live at least 5000. Aesir live TO 5000. Get the difference? That means Jotuns are more than likely to live longer than the Aesir, who live up to 5000 years old.

The Aesir become static in age. However some do not. Key traits are Loki, Frei, and Ull. Now, the movies changed this to aging extremely slowly. Whilst in reality some age, some don't, some mature, some dont. We know Thor, apparently, matured and got his hammer and is considered an 'adult' and therefore capable of taking over the throne. Thor was 1500. So by this logic, Aesir can be, in the movies, considered to mature and become an adult at 1500 years of age. This is considered to be around 30 years of age in human mortal years. In. The. Movies. Now, Loki, in the movies, in Thor, is only 1070. This means, Loki is not an adult. This means, Loki has not matured. This means, Loki, would be considered a minor in Mortal years. Directly correlating his Aesir age, which may or may not be correct, because as previously stated, Jotun live to AT LEAST 5000 years, which means it is presumed they live longer than that, and therefore would age at a different rate and slower, he would be considered 21, around. However. Because in most countries on earth at the time that Thor was made consider an adult to be 18 to 21 years of age, Loki would not fit that depiction, because he has not become an adult or matured yet, therefore just because his Aesir age matches a 21 year old, does not mean he would be considered 21. Furthermore, from inference, Jotuns age slower, because again...they live AT LEAST as long as Aesir. . Thor has matured, and become an adult to the Aseir, whereas Loki has not. We know this because Thor got his naming ceremony from Odin, where he was gifted Mjolnir and was to become King. Loki has not had this ceremony, though he would not become King, he would become secondary heir until Thor had children. Therefore, Loki has not matured, and is not an adult, but Thor is, and Thor is over 400 years older than Loki. Therefore, most people would put Loki's age, around 16 or 17 in the Avengers. Which means in Thor he would most likely be aged around 14 or 15. Because he is not an adult in terms of Aesir society, so he cannot be an adult in terms of Human society. Despite the fact that his direct age would be believed to be 21, Thor barely became an adult at 30. So....again...The aging system is complicated, and this is only in reference to the Movies. Not the mythology.

Now, Jotun are not believed to mature until they reach 50 human years. Thor is only 30 human years. Therefore, Jotun are believed to mature at a slower rate than Aesir. Which means, when Thor is Matured for at least another 20 humans years, which would take another 3000 aesir years, Loki would not be considered an adult. Because even if he would have been an adult to the Aseir, he would still be a child to the Jotun. Therefore, he died, still technically a child in the movies. Now, Loki is considered to be around 15 in Thor, because of these facts. He would be considered, around 16 in the Avengers, again, because of this. Thor would not be considered a child. He would be considered a fully fledged adult.

Now, Loki's parents. The movie changed his father, Farabatai, to Laufey, who was his mother. Laufy was considered to be Aesir, specifically a Goddess, who was known to wield magic (aka, how Loki can use tons of different magic forms and is very good at it). His father, Farabatai, is a Frost Giant, and the leader of the Frost Giants. The movie changed to Laufey being the King of the Frost Giants, and ignores his mother all the way. Loki inherited the traits from both. His small stature from his Aesir mother, his magic from both. Now...in the movies, his skin changes when he is touched by a Jotun, because his shapeshifted into a different form-an Aesir form-and Odin essentially locked him into that form. the only way to get him out of that form is to touch the Casket of Ancient Winters, or by touched by a Jotun. We don't know if this is the case in Mythology. In the mythology, we don't exactly know what Laufey is beyond Loki's mother, and an Aesir goddess able to wield magic. We don't know what descendent of people she comes from. That means, she could come from literally any of them. Any of the nine realms, beyond a human, and a jotun, because she is Aesir, it can be assumed she is probably not considered Vanir, but honestly, the Aesir are often considered to be anyone but Jotuns, therefore it is ambiguous and we honestly have no fucking clue. So he is half Jotun, and Half Aesir of some bloodline that can use magic and his mother is a goddess of some sort we dont know what of, or what bloodline she comes from, or what species she is beyond not being human or jotun. in the movie, his mother was considered to be Farabatai, not Laufey, which means Farabatai became the mythological Laufey, whilst Laufey became the mythological Farabatai. That does not mean his bloodline has changed. It just means who was the father and who was the mother changed.

Loki himself. Loki is considered to be a god of mischief, tricks, and chaos. He is not well regarded by the Aesir, although he helps them continually all of the time and they pretty much disregard every effort that he gives them. this leads him to play pranks and shit on them, of course, like a child would, and they dislike him for it. However the Aesir also treat him like absolute shit all the time. In the movies, this is still the same. Sif and the warriors don't like him, they like Thor. Sif and the warriors disregard the fact that Loki is a king at this point in the thor movie, and commit treason, and are not punished for it in any way whatsoever. Neither is Heimdell. Loki orders a guard to tell Odin thor is being an idiot and breaking an ancient treaty that they have with Jotunheim, and the guard drags his feet and the cause is an impending war. Which Loki has to deal with, on top of finding out that he was adopted, and not even of the Aesir (according to Odin), was stolen, and essentially raised to be some sort of hostage vantage point for Odin. Loki, of course, is highly upset has a huge ass breakdown, whilst also needing to handle the impending war because Thor was an idiot and decided to break the law and the treaty. He is also dealing with the fact that if literally anyone knew he was a Jotun he would probably be murdered. So...he does what any mental breakdown trickster god would do and tricks Laufey into thinking he is on his side, and then murders him. of course Odin still don't give a shit and essentially Loki commits suicide, or attempted suicide.

He then returns, beat up to all fucking hell, with every single classic sign of heat related torture you can find, and the  first thing Thor does is ask him where the Terseract is. Not oh, hey, so nice to see you aren't dead. And he only pulls out the mourning card to try and guilt Loki into telling him where this cube is which of course pisses Loki off because at this point, Loki has nothing but contempt and anger and hatred for Odin. So no, Thor is a piece of shit, and I will continue to believe Thor is a piece of shit. He doesn't realize Loki is acting way out of normal, ignores the fact that Loki admitted that he was not the one calling the shots and was 'shown' how the terseract works in the first place, and then completely disregards the fact that Loki is known for saying something, and meaning something totally different. Loki gives them all the info they need the first time that he talks to Fury and yet nobody figures it out until the end, because Thor never happened to mention that Loki uses his words...a lot...to say stuff...and mean something different. So instead of trying to dig at them, hes giving them info. But because thor think oh no he is just evil now, and doesn't look any further, despite the fact that his baby brother dropped into a void that nobody has survived and nobody knows about, and doesn't even think about what could have possibly happened there. But sure, he is reformed now. He just...thinks genocide is wrong now. Totally reformed.

Not to mention even in Thor 3, he sacrifices his brother to the Grandmaster, ignoring the fact that Loki had to really pull some major strings in order to even get them to the area they could escape at, and just leaves him there to do who knows what. Loki also was at the Grandmasters place for way longer than Thor was, and we don't know what happened. We just know that Loki was the Grandmasters 'favorite' which could mean so many things and all of them disturbing. Yet Thor sacrifices Loki to the Grandmaster, but sure...great brotherly material. We should all be 100% vying for him. Ignoring the fact that Thor blames everything on Loki. Blames the destruction of his relationship on Loki, which personally, Thor kinda fucked up. He literally threatens to murder every Jotun he comes across, and then gets confused as to why Loki doesn't want anything to do with him even after he finds out Loki is a Jotun and doesn't be like, aye, yeah, about that. he also doesn't apologize for his frankly awful behavior before this either. He doesn't apologize for dragging Loki into a dangerous place, he doesn't apologize for being rude af to him all the time, he doesn't apologize for his ignoring his brother's contributions to literally anything, and yet somehow thinks Loki is gonna be like yay yeah totes my bro. No. Personally I wouldn't have had anything to do with my older brother, that was canonly an adult at this time, acting so badly and then not even concerned about what could have happened to me when i tried to commit suicide and fell into an unknown void of unknown origins of unknown creatures. Not once does Thor even entertain the fact that Loki could have been manipulated, pushed, or tortured into doing literally anything. And in Thor three, he still holds all this shit against Loki, and yet uses him to escape, and then...sacrifices him. I would straight up murder the bitch. If my brother did anything like Thor and then just was like oh no your totally my family, we are brothers, you shouldn't let any of that get to you...really? Loki in comparison, has not done nearly as much shit in the movies than thor has done to loki. But yeah. In terms of being a good older brother, thor is absolute shit. And i dont think people recognize that enough.

Anyways. The point is...this is a fucking fanfiction. it takes into account a myraid amount of Loki headcanon, mythology, comic, belief, written text, noncanon. Loki's magic is literally green and his eyes change colors. there is no canon evidence that Loki's magic is green. The only inference of eyes changing colors happens in Avengers where his eyes are blue most of the movie, and then green.

So, yes, Loki is 15, yes, Loki is a thousand years old, yes, Loki has green magic, and his eyes change color when he uses his magic. Yes, Loki is a Jotun, but also, something else. Which I haven't even stated yet. Yes, he was treated like shit and dislikes Thor and Odin, and holds a grudge against Asgard. Personally I would too, either in the movies, comics, or mythology. The Aesir continually treated him like shit. He retaliates. How it works. Yes he is powerful, and is considered a mother. No the story line isn't exactly lining up. What the hell did you expect when you mash two fucking universes together into one?

So stop fucking complaining, and stop trying to be literal. Stop trying to use mythology and movies and comics, and on top of that getting shit wrong, whilst trying to mansplain the story. Its a fucking fanfic. Not a damn history course on Loki. Some things aint gonna line up. If it bothers you so much go read a damn Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda since you want such rich and mythologically evident information upon Loki. This is not that. Okay? This is a fanfiction about loki, and Middle Earth.

Get you damn head out your ass and stop being so technical. The next time someone complains about that shit or tries to nitpick any and every tiny little thing that you don't think is correct in terms of whatever mythology you've read which may or may not even be correct in the first place, I am deleting the comment, and may even block them if it continues. Its a damn fanfic, not a historical account of the mythology of Loki.
