Summary
Loki is 15 years old, well, 15 midgardian years old, when he falls. He gets plunged into the void, darkness. The place that none have managed to escape, and all who enter, are never seen again. The truth was, he was so...distraught, and so, simply done with life and all it had to offer, tired of the constant torment from his brother, and his brother's friends, as well as the other Asgardians, he just had to leave, so he did. However, things take a rather drastic turn when, instead of dying as he had thought, he ends up in a new world, a world between worlds, a world none knows about, and then also caught up in their version of war, and another dark artifact, with a dark sorcerer. Can he help, but more than that, is he willing to?

Chapter 16

Loki settled himself, Legolas besides him was bracing himself.

"Here they come." Loki muttered under his breath the moment he felt the shield give and the creatures burst into the small room in waves. Loki did his best to keep an eye on everyone and everything at once, doing what little he was able to ensure the hobbits and the rest' safety. There was only so much he could do in the midst of things, however, and if he did not want to be explicitly obvious in his magic skills, he needed to be careful.

However, it would seem that option was swiftly deteriorating as more and more swarmed in the small space. Loki knew that it would be unlikely that they would all get out of here alive if he did not do something, and something quickly. Despite the fear that he had that he would be chastised greatly, he had to remember something.

He was not on Asgard anymore. He was nowhere among the nine realms. He was in a different section of the worlds tree, between one of the roots of the universe. There was none to condemn him here, and he knew one thing. He did not want anyone to die here. Even Gandalf the old fool. He may hate the man, but not enough to allow him to die. He was trying to keep everything together, and it was rather difficult.

He could not allow his fear to flood over and force him into the backgrounds. Not anymore. He had people to protect, even if half of those people were morons that he could do well without the incessant chatter from. The biggest thing was, however, Legolas was here. He did not know much about the older Prince, and he did not even really understand his interactions with the elf, but he knew that he did not want the other to die. As much as he held great disregard for most people, Legolas was different. Even if he could not quite understand why the other was different, he as and he would not allow Legolas to die simply because he could not handle his to show his magic.

As much as he may just hate it...he needed to. The other options were swiftly depleting, and he wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible.

Loki looked towards Legolas, and motioned to him. Legolas turned to him and nodded once showing that he was listening.

"I need to do something. Make sure they cannot get to me while I prepare." He whispered softly, shoving the fear down. Legolas turned his blue eyes onto Legolas' and saw the sincerity within them. He nodded once.

"I cannot hold them for long, there are too many, so whatever it is that you need to do ensure that it is quick." Loki smiled faintly.

"Thank you."

Placing his trust in someone was not something that Loki did often, if ever. He could not even rely on his own brother (not brother) so how could he really trust anyone. Yet, the fact remained, Legolas had proven himself more than once, and Loki felt this kinship with the older, for whatever reason that was, he could not really pinpoint why but he felt as though he could trust him.

So he did, and he hoped that he was not making some drastic mistake as he did so. He inhaled softly, closing his eyes, he steadied his heart, allowing his sentience to fill the room, the green mist filling his hands as he swiftly took control of the people around him. He sent his magic forcing Gandalf, Gimli, Aragorn, Boromir and all of the Hobbits to come careening behind him. Legolas was the only one still in front, valiantly fighting as he had promised the person behind him. Gandalf watched in curiosity, the rest staring in awe as Loki exhaled once, and flashed his eyes open, green filling the normally blue iris, sending his hand out, stretching before him, his magic entwined itself around Legolas and pulled him back to Loki's side, the rest of the built up magic moving forwards in a blast of green smoke, as it dropped thousands at once, killing the creatures instantly.

Legolas caught Loki, wrapping one arm gently around his waist as he felt the male's knees tremble and begin to drop. He calmly held him, ignoring the awe and shock of those behind him. He had known that the other was hiding something, he had just not been entirely certain what it was. He allowed the other to lean on him, his strength failing, and the green bleeding from his eyes, leaving them the normal blue that they typically were. Legolas could feel the other's limbs trembling.

"Let's get out of here." Loki said, voice breathless.

Legolas nodded. There were other evils here besides the goblins. Though, Legolas took a look back at where they had all dropped, it would seem they were taken care of for now.

The procession out of the cave was much quicker now that they sort of knew where it was that they were needing to go. Though it was difficult to really get there. The road that they needed to take, the pathway, it was quite narrow. One wrong misstep and you were dead, dropping to the depths. Loki could not believe that the Dwarves had even dared to tunnel so deep within the mountain. Were they idiots?

Loki mentally scoffed at himself. Of course they were. These dwarves were much different than the ones in the nine realms. Much, much, much different, though he knew that these ones were similar in some aspects it would not seem that they were similar in the intelligence department. The elves held almost the exact characteristics, however. Something which led Loki to being rather curious.

Either way, they managed to make it out of the blasted cave within record time, and Loki wasted no time in standing, though Legolas had to support him, and in one last movement, allowed his magic to crush the tunnel completely. Destroying the entire cave, the mountain slowly receding as he crushed everything, demolishing the entire work of the dwarves. He heard, faintly, the cry of despair from Gimli, but he could care less about that. The evils which laid in the cave because of the dwarves actions were far more important to destroy than the sentiment that the dwarf held towards the cave.

It was there that he collapsed, black filling his vision as the cave was once more covered in rock and stone and earth.
