Misty doesn’t know how to feel about what just happened this day. Many emotions at once and she does not know how to handle any of them. She hadn’t counted on this, this was new for her. She just wanted to find her best friend, Nat, she’s so worried about her, about what might have happened to her, she just wanted to find that out, to protect her, to help her, because she knew herself was the only one who was going to do it. This was not meant to be arrogant, far from it, she wished more people cared about her Natalie, but sadly that wasn't the case. She had already tried calling Shauna and Taissa a hundred times and they had both completely ignored her, so Misty was her only hope, and she was moving heaven and earth to find out what had happened to her.
Hence, she didn’t expect counting on the help of a person, and not a normal person. A person who fully understands her in any possible way. The first person to show complete interest in her, that he appreciated her as she was. He knew what she was like, what kind of person she was, clearly not a normal, ordinary woman, anyone would think she was crazy and a nerd and a freak. Even Natalie thought she was like that and had told him so several times, although he didn't mind because she knew she didn't mean any harm, but he knew Natalie didn't like the way she was. But he didn't, he had taken a deep interest in her even though he knew what she was really like.
First, he had gone to the hospital on purpose, he had looked for an excuse to go there, just for her, just to meet her. No one had ever done that before, who would do that to meet crazy Misty? No one, except him. Secondly, he'd helped her without asking for anything in return, he'd done exactly what Misty told him, even hit someone. He'd only hit someone because she'd asked him to, he'd done it for her. She couldn't believe that these things could happen to her. Thirdly, he asked for her number, as if he knew she couldn't be in the same room as Randy, and he did it all as an excuse to ask for her number. It was all unbelievable.
Fourthly, he had asked her if she would like to have a drink with him after the interrogation was over. As if it were a casual, domestic thing that a couple would do. Do interrogations in the afternoon and have a drink in the evening, and for Misty it sounded like the perfect plan. But Walter wasn't her partner to have a drink with after an interrogation. She didn't want to play it cool, she wanted him to know that she was only there for professional matters, not because they were friends meeting for a drink.
Lastly, he had sent her a message, asking her to accompany him on a road trip, because he had already managed to find out what she had asked him to do, hack the card to discover where Natalie might be. And here she was, instead of worrying about Natalie's safety, she was thinking about this strange man who would do anything she asked.
Although Misty thought that maybe he was doing all this because he wanted to take advantage of her. It didn't make sense that he was being so nice to her, she couldn't get it through her head that someone would treat her well, that someone was the one who would do anything for her and not the other way around. Maybe he was just being that way to find out the truth about Adam's death or even Jessica's. Being that he was so smart, she didn't think he could so easily swallow the lie she had told him when he had asked her to explain herself to him.
She also wondered why anyone would do so much for her, to get something from her, no one would do what Walter is doing to find out the truth, right? At least she wanted to convince herself of that, for once someone was like that with her, she didn't want it all to be a farce.
Or maybe she should stop thinking badly of people and being so distrustful and think that maybe someone could care about her, contrary to what she had been told. She should also realise that she needs to stop caring about people she doesn't care about in return and give importance to people who would do the same for them. Maybe it was time, or maybe she was just being played.
Anyway, she thinks the best way to find out is to take a chance, if he's going to take a gamble, she'll take a double gamble. Besides, it's her only option to find Natalie and it's not a bad idea to make a friend either. So she'd get it over with, tomorrow she'd go with him but only with the intention of saving Natalie, just for that, yeah.
