Steve
Steve hadn’t stopped pacing since Bruce had kicked him out.
“It’ll be ok,” Nat soothed.
Steve couldn’t get Bucky’s screams out of his head.
“Cap, relax.” Clint tried.
“Bruce knows what he’s doing. Tin man’s gonna be fine.” Tony chuckled at his joke.
Thor just patted his back hard and grinned.
Hydra hadn’t come yet.
Steve just hoped that Bucky was wrong that Hydra wouldn’t come.
“Steve, you can come back in!” Bruce called.
Steve took a deep breath. He was about to meet his daughter.
Bruce grinned at him. “They’re both doing really well. Bucky is tired, but that’s to be expected. The baby is tired, but she’s perfectly healthy.”
Steve’s eyes filled with tears at the sight of Bucky holding their daughter.
Buck grinned up at him. “She’s perfect.”
Steve wrapped them in his arms. “You’re ok?”
Bucky nuzzled closer. “Just fine.”
Winnie blinked up at them. Her blue eyes latching onto Steve’s matching ones.
“Can I hold her?”
Bucky kissed him. “Yeah, you can hold her.”
Steve had never held anyone so tiny or so precious before. “Your daddies love you so much.”
“I’m gonna get some sleep,” Buck said softly. “Take care of our girl.”
Steve grinned. He carried Winnie to the rest of the Avengers. “I’d like you to meet Winnie Sarah Barnes Rogers.”
“Well, if that’s not a mouthful!” Tony laughed.
”I think it’s a beautiful name,” Nat said.
“She’s a cutie!” Clint grinned.
“Congratulations, my friend!” Thor boomed.
Steve had fought and died for freedom, his country, and love. But he knew none of it compared to what he would do to keep his daughter safe.
