Bucky
He didn't like the cold. He wasn't sure if that was new or not. He almost remembered threadbare coats, holey socks and shoes, and knitted hats and gloves. But now, he'd found a new coat at a shelter. He had a backpack filled with a set of clothes, journals, and a thermos.
He had carefully crafted his new identity. He became Jamie Fried with records, papers, and IDs to prove it.
He’d gotten a job at a rundown bookstore.
It was quiet.
The books smelled familiar.
He found himself pulling The Hobbit off of the shelf. Smiling freely, as he lost himself in a story about adventure, friendship, and dragons.
The bookstore owner was an old man who was still younger than him. Edwin was kind and didn't mind reading on the job.
When Bucky first showed up looking like a homeless person, he was almost positive that he wouldn't get the job.
But Edwin had smiled kindly and given him a chance.
Now he just needed to find a home. He'd found one he thought might be nice, but if he was going to afford it, he'd need to find some Hydra caches. He hated the idea of using anything that was Hydra's, but he needed to be practical.
