sharing clothes!
The next morning, Bucky entered his newly appointed bedroom to find a fresh set of clothes on the bed with a note. Bucky picked up the note.
-Figured you want a fresh set of clothes, cariño. Hope they fit. If there’s any problems, come find me in the lab.
Alex-
A smiled crossed Bucky’s face as he read the note, grateful that the other man had given him a spare change of clothes.
Bucky stripped out of his, folding them neatly and setting them on a nearby chair. He got dressed in the clothes Alex had given him, which consisted of a soft pair of grey jogging bottoms and a dark grey knitted jumper, similar to what he’d seen Alex wearing.
The outfit smelled like the man and wrapped him in a sense of warmth and security.
Bucky left the room, deciding to leave his hair down without brushing it. He made his way into the kitchen, making 2 cups of coffee, knowing from how Tony was that scientists lived of caffeine, although for Shuri it was energy drinks.
Taking the 2 steaming cups of coffee, Bucky made his way into the basement, finding Alex hunch over the table, working on a robot.
Not wanting to startle the man with his quiet entrance, Bucky said, softly.
“Alex.”
The man’s head whipped up, still managing to be startled. Bucky shook his head fondly.
“Oh, Bucky. What can I do for you?” He asked trying to regain his composure.
Bucky held up 1 of the mugs of coffee in his hands.
“Figured you could need this.” He said.
Alex looked grateful.
“You are a godsend, cariño.” He said.
“It’s nothing.” Bucky muttered, the nickname making him feel all fluttery.
Bucky moved towards the man, handing him the coffee.
“What are you working on?” He asked looking over Alex’s shoulder.
“Some robot.” Alex said., taking a sip of his coffee.
“Anything I can do to help?” Bucky asked.
“Sit and look pretty for me.” Alex said with a smirk.
Honestly, Bucky wasn’t expecting that, but he definitely didn’t mind it.
“So, you think I pretty?” Bucky asked.
“You’re gorgeous cariño and you know it. Sit down and be a good boy for me, okay.” Alex said.
Being called a good boy did something to Bucky that he didn’t want to analyse this early in the morning.
“Yes, Daddy.” Bucky muttered under his breath low enough that Alex couldn’t hear.
Bucky was startled by what he said, not knowing that he had a Daddy kink.
“What was that cariño?” Alex asked.
“Nothing.” Bucky muttered, thankful that the man didn’t hear him.
Bucky sat across from him at the table, drinking his coffee.
Gattino entered the basement and jumped into Bucky’s lap. Alex smiled at the image of Bucky looking soft petting the cat in his lap.
“You’re not cold are you, temperatures are supposed to drop today.” Alex said.
Bucky looked up at him, his attention being drawn from the cat in his lap.
“I’m fine. I have my blanket if I get cold.” Bucky said.
Alex nodded.
“I’m glad to see the clothes fit.” He said.
“They’re comfy.” Bucky said noting how Gattino was playing with the sleeves of the jumper.
“Keep them.” Alex said.
“What?” Bucky asked.
“Keep them.” Alex said again.
“Are you sure?” Bucky asked.
“Yes, I’m sure. You’re going to be stuck here for a few more days, can’t have you walking around in the same outfit every day.” Alex said.
“I could walk around naked.” Bucky said.
Alex shrugged.
“I wouldn’t be against that.” He said.
“Do you always flirt with people stuck in your house?” Bucky asked.
“Only the super soldiers with a metal arm.” Alex said with a wink.
Bucky smiled.
“Good thing I’m here then doll.” Bucky said giving Alex his own pet name.
Alex seemed to like it if the faint blush on his cheeks were anything to go by.
“You’re very distracting, cariño.” Alex said, realizing that he stopped working on the robot.
“Are you complaining?” Bucky asked with a raised eyebrow.
“No, I’m not.” Alex said with a soft smile that made Bucky’s heart flutter.
They stayed like that whilst Alex worked on his robot, with small flirty quips.
By the time dinner rolled around, Bucky had to practically drag Alex out of the lab because he kept saying 5 more minutes. Bucky had learnt that ‘5minutes’ usually meant that they would stay in the lab until they finished forgetting to eat and sleep, Bucky and T’Challa had to drag Shuri out of the lab many times before.
Bucky made them both some food and they sat in the kitchen to eat.
Gattino had decided to stay and take a nap in the basement, not wanting to deal with the 2 humans.
“So, Bucky?” Alex asked.
“Yeah.” Bucky said.
Alex looked nervous which worried the super soldier.
“Are you alright, doll?” Bucky asked.
“Yes, cariño, I’m fine.” He said.
“What did you want to ask me?” Bucky asked.
“I know we’ve only known each other for a few days, but I like you and...” Alex began to say stuttering over his words.
Bucky knew what a confession sounded like. Wanting to save Alex the embarrassment, Bucky leaned over the table, gripping Alex’s own knitted jumper.
“What are you..” Alex began to ask but was cut off by Bucky pulling him into a kiss.
Alex didn’t kiss back at first, obviously shocked by what was happen, but when the shock had past, Alex kissed back fiercely, licking at the seam of Bucky’s mouth. Bucky melted into the kiss, opening his mouth for Alex’s exploration. They broke apart a few minutes later, both of them panting hard, Bucky still gripping Alex’s jumper.
“Does that answer your question, doll?” Bucky asked.
“Yes, it does.” Alex said, cheeks a bit red.
Alex leaned forward for another kiss, amusing Bucky. Bucky leaned back to tease him only for Alex to grab the back of his head, pulling him into the kiss. Once again Bucky melted.
This time when they broke apart, Alex asked.
“Movie night tonight, for date night?”
Bucky pretended to think about it before he said.
“I would love that, doll.”
He let go of Alex’s jumper, realizing that he was still holding onto him.
“Great, see you at 7.” Alex said, jumping out of his seat.
“I’ll drag you out of the lab if I have to!” Bucky called out as Alex ran out of the kitchen.
“I’ll be there, this is my house after all!” Alex yelled back.
Bucky couldn’t argue with that.
‘I should check in with Clint see how Alpine is doing and make sure he hasn’t burnt my house down.’
Standing up, Bucky cleared away their mess and left the kitchen. He made his way down the hallway, entering the bedroom since that was were he had left his phone.
Entering the bedroom, he picked up his phone, sitting on the edge of the bed. He dialled Clint’s number and waited for him to pick up.
“Hello?” Clint asked when he finally did.
“Hey, Clint, it’s me. How’s Alpine?” Bucky asked.
“I’m great thanks for asking.” Clint said dryly.
Bucky rolled his eyes even though the other man couldn’t see.
“How’s my cat, Barton?” Bucky asked.
“Relax, Papa bear. Alpine’s fine. He’s curled up with Lucky.” Clint said.
Bucky was pleased to hear that Clint hadn’t managed to kill his cat.
“On a more interesting note, how’s it going with your crush?” Clint asked.
Bucky rolled his eyes again, he felt like he did that a lot when he talked to Clint.
“If you must know, I have a date with him tonight.” Bucky said.
“How does that happen?” Clint asked.
“I don’t kiss and tell, Clint.” Bucky said.
“So, there was some kissing involved?” Clint asked wanting more of the juicy details.
“I’m hanging up.” Bucky said flat.
Before he could, Clint said.
“Wait, wait. I have something to ask.”
Bucky sighed.
“What is it Clint?” He asked.
“What’s he like in bed?” Clint asked.
Bucky hung up to the sound of Clint’s laughter, throwing his phone on the bed.
‘I hate him so much. He’s an annoying asshole, but he’s my annoying asshole.’
Bucky sighed and busied himself with something until 7pm.
When 7pm hit, Bucky made his way into the living room to see Alex setting up a movie.
“I thought I’d have to drag you out of the lab again.” Bucky joked.
“It’d be a bit rude if I set up the date and not show up.” Alex said.
Bucky conceded that point with a tilt of his head.
The 2 men sat on the settee as the movie began playing. Bucky didn’t recognise the movie which happened a lot.
As the movie played, Bucky’s eyes drifted over to Alex, noting the way that he was sat. His legs were spread open widen enough for Bucky to sit in between but the only thing between his legs was a bowl of popcorn.
Alex must’ve caught him staring because he asked.
“Is something wrong?”
Bucky floundered for a moment, trying to find something to say.
“Oh nothing.” Bucky finally settled on trying to sound convincing.
“Do you want some popcorn?” Alex asked, offering the bowl to him.
“Sure.” Bucky said, happy that he didn’t get called out for staring.
Bucky reached forward with his metal hand grabbing a handful of popcorn, shoving it into his mouth.
The 2 men focus back on the movie, both of them inching closer to each other on the settee.
Bucky ran his hand through his hair, trying to distract himself from how close Alex was. Not brushing his hair this morning came to bite him in the ass when he fingers snagged on a lug, making him wince.
“Are you okay?” Alex asked, worried, having noticed.
“Oh, yeah. Just didn’t brush my hair this morning. I just need to spray some detangler in it or something.” Bucky explained
Alex nodded.
“Go and get me the hairbrush from the nightstand in my room.” Alex said.
Bucky gave him a confused look. All Alex did was motion for him to go.
Wanting to see where this was going, Bucky stood up, leaving the living room. He walked down the hallway, entering Alex’s bedroom, having not been in their yet.
Figuring it would be a bad idea to snoop, he walked towards the nightstand, grabbing the blue paddle hairbrush.
Bucky left the bedroom and walked back down the hallway, entering the living room again. Bucky noticed that Alex had placed the popcorn on the coffee table.
Alex spread his legs some more, pointing in between them.
“Sit.” Alex ordered.
Bucky was still a bit confused as to what was happening but went with it, handing the brush to Alex, sitting cross legged in between his legs.
Bucky’s internal questions were answer when Alex began brushing his hair, moving having changed to something Sci-fi which was right up Bucky’s alley.
The super soldier found the repeated movements of the brush relaxing, the feeling luring him into a sleepy haze.
When Alex stopped brushing his hair, Bucky had to fight down a whine, only slightly succeeding.
“Easy, cariño, relax.” Alex cooed.
He continued to play with Alex’s hair, braiding it. Bucky leaned his head back as he did, looking up at Alex who was smiling down at him.
“You’re supposed to be watching the movie.” Alex teased.
“I like looking at you better.” Bucky said.
Alex rolled his eyes fondly.
“You sap.” He said finishing up the braid.
He pushed Bucky’s head so that it was resting against Alex’s thigh as the man leaned back in his seat, playing with strands of Bucky’s hair that didn’t fit in the braid.
The sleepy haze caused by Alex playing his hair made it, so Bucky had a hard time paying attention to the movie, which Bucky didn’t care about. He just enjoyed Alex playing with his hair.
“Can you pass me the popcorn, cariño?” Alex asked an undetermined amount of time later.
Bucky nodded, not trusting himself to not say something stupid.
He reached over to the table, grabbing the bowl, handing it back to Alex.
“Thank you, cariño.” Alex said, pressing a kiss to the crown of Bucky’s head.
“You’re welcome, Daddy.” Bucky murmured, only realising what he had said when Alex’s hand still in his hair.
‘Fuck.’
Bucky freeze trying to not panic.
“Well, aren’t you a polite boy.” Alex commented, resuming his petting of Bucky.
Bucky relaxed in his hold, happy that he hadn’t fucked up.
“Want to come up here and cuddle or do you want me to keep petting you?” Alex asked.
Bucky looked up at him with wide eyes, obviously conflicted. He did want to cuddle with the man, but he enjoyed being petted just as much.
When Bucky didn’t say anything, Alex asked.
“Don’t know which 1 to pick?”
Bucky nodded.
“How about both?” Alex asked kindly.
Bucky liked the sound of that.
“Yes, please.” Bucky said, happy that he got the best of both worlds.
Bucky climbed into Alex’s lap, not feeling stupid for his large stature with how comfy Alex made him feel. Bucky got comfortable and Alex continued to play with his hair, petting him.
“Comfy?” Alex asked.
Bucky nodded being lulled back into that sleepy haze.
Gattino padded into the room and jumped into Bucky’s lap wanting to get in on this cuddle pile.
“Well, this is domestic. Just a roboticist, a super soldier and his robotic cat.” Alex joked.
“At least I won’t be covered in cat hairs from him.” Bucky muttered.
“Just need Alpine.” Alex said.
“He’s a menace.” Bucky said, knowing that he would only be worse now that Clint had cat sit.
“Well, he is your cat.” Alex said.
Bucky shot Alex an offended look and grumbled under his breath. Alex found the grumbling super soldier cute, so he kissed him, not that he needed and excuse.
The only reason they broke apart was because Gattino began meowing loudly, making his presence known.
Alex laughed but Bucky clearly wasn’t happy about it.
“Being cockblocked by a robot cat.” He muttered as said cat looked at him with innocent eyes.
“Don’t worry cariño, there’s plenty of time.” Alex said.
Bucky perked up at that liking the sound of it.
Alex stopped petting Bucky for a moment and the super soldier didn’t pout. He did not. Alex only reached down to grab their drinks before petting Bucky again.
Bucky melted into his hold, sipping his coke.
When the movie ended, Bucky could not tell you what it was about, which only disappointed him slightly since it seemed like a movie he liked.
“If you want to watch another movie, you’re going to have to get off my lap.” Alex said, amused when Bucky didn’t move.
“Don’t care. You’re my new pillow.” Bucky grumbled but the words didn’t exactly match his tone of voice.
“Okay, we can cuddle. I love having you in my arms.” Alex said.
“I love being in your arms.” Bucky said.
A grin broke across Alex’s face at that which made Bucky’s heart flutter.
“You’re adorable.” Bucky said.
“What? No.” Alex protested a blush on his cheeks.
“Yes.” Bucky said smirk on his face.
Alex tried to glare at Bucky to prove that he wasn’t adorable but that failed for 2 reasons. 1 Bucky was the king of glares, and 2 Alex was still blushing.
“Adorable.” Bucky said.
“Stop.” Alex whined, burying his face in Bucky’s neck as the super soldier laughed.
“Just accept that you’re adorable doll.” Bucky said.
“No.” Alex muttered.
Bucky laughed, cuddling the roboticist close, careful to not nudge the sleeping cat so he didn’t start whining again. Bucky refused to be cuddle blocked by a cat.
