“BYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEE” the crowd all shouted as the collector's stars flew away in the still beautifully lit sky.
Luz turned to look at the crowd behind her in absolute awe, looking over the people surrounding her. But they weren’t just people. No. They were her family. Human or not, they were the best family that she could have ever asked for.
She honestly didn’t know how she had gotten so lucky. Sure there were definitely bad moments with the whole Belos and The Collector thing. But now Belos had been gone for years, The Collector was helping out around the Demon Realm, and The Boiling Isles was finally fully restored after years of hard work. Everything was going pretty much perfectly.
She had probably the most amazing girlfriend ever, she was going to start college soon and was with her family. What more could she ask for?
And as she looked through the crowd – Eda holding hands with Raine; Hunter and Willow listening to Gus talk about something rather enthusiastically; and her mom talking to Alador – she realized that there was nowhere else that she would rather be. No matter what happened she would never want to leave this place. Because this place was her home, no matter what tried to stop her from staying, she was home.
“How did I get so lucky?” Luz whispered to herself looking around.
Amity who stood next to her turned to look at Luz with a smile and said, “I think the question actually is ‘How did everyone here get so lucky to have you’.”
Amity took Luz’s hand in hers and intertwined their finger bringing the hand up to kiss her knuckles.
Luz looked up from where she was originally looking at their intertwined hands, her gaze looking directly into Amity’s eyes. Luz wore the biggest smile on her face as she leaned in to kiss her girlfriend. And as their lips connected in a delicate kiss, Luz felt warmth all over as if it were their first kiss in Amity’s bedroom only just a few years ago.
‘Yeah’ Luz thought to herself ‘this is definitely where I’m supposed to be. This is home.’
