Maya's P.O.V:
I was with the Avengers on Asgard attending Loki's trial for his attack on New York. Honestly, when it comes to Loki, mostly everyone acts like entitled Karen's.
Oh! Where are my manners? My name is Maya Lilian Elizabeth Potter and I'm Loki's girlfriend. We've been dating for about two years now, when he disappeared.
The Avengers and SHIELD took me into protective custody; knowing my connection to Loki. But, during the interrogation, I noticed something fishy: The color of Loki's eyes.
When we started dating, Loki had the most beautiful green eyes that I've ever seen, but when I saw him in the cell, his eyes were blue like the Tesseract. Like Clint's eyes when he was under mind control.
It was at that moment that it clicked to me: Loki was being controlled, and he's obviously been tortured in the past.
There were fading bruises, dark bags under his eyes, his skin was paler than usual, and his fingers were slightly crooked; probably broken bones that didn't heal right.
Back to the trial; I knew that everyone was going to vote for Loki to either be executed or imprisoned for the rest of his life. I can't let that happen; I have to speak up.
3rd Person P.O.V:
Odin was about to deliver the final verdict, when a girl with shocking auburn hair and honey brown eyes rushed over to Loki while shouting, "WAIT!!!"
Odin, as well as the others in the throne room stared at the mortal woman who dared to defy the All-father.
He coolly stared at her and asked, "What are you doing, young mortal?"
The woman glared at him while helping Loki to his feet. "I'm righting a wrong. Loki is innocent of all crimes on Earth."
Immediately, the throne room erupted into chaos, which only quieted due to Odin yelling for silence.
Queen Frigga stepped forward and asked her, "What is your name, child, and how do you know that my son is innocent?"
Bowing to the queen, the girl answered. "My name is Maya Lilian Elizabeth Potter, Your Majesty, and I have a question for everyone before I reply to yours."
Frigga nodded and asked her what the question was.
Maya spoke loudly, addressing everyone, mainly the Asgardians, and asked, "For those of you who know Loki, what color were his eyes? I will ask you all this question three times so you know what I'm getting at. In all the years you've known Loki, did he have blue eyes or green eyes?"
This question struck a chord in the Avengers, mainly Thor.
Maya asked the question two more times before Frigga answered, "Green. He had green eyes."
Smiling warmly, Maya nodded. "Correcto, Your Majesty. His eyes were green. Niw, when he attacked New York, his eyes were blue instead of green. I also saw residue of bruises, lacerations, and improperly healed broken bones. He was also malnourished, clearly sick, and sleep deprived. Yet, his punishments are either death or life imprisonment.
If it was Thor, you'd strip him of his powers and banish him until he learned his lesson. You don't do that with Loki. If that doesn't scream that Thor is the favorite, I don't know what does.
And before any of you ask, I know this because I asked for his side of the story. And, I actually don't blame him for hating some of you. He even told me that when he let go of the Bifröst, it was a suicide attempt.
Then, he was found and tortured by Thanos and the Chitauri. After his mind was weakened enough, Thanos unleashed a puppet onto Earth.
All he wanted was to be accepted. To be loved."
Nobody moved for a long time. And nobody batted an eye as Loki and Maya teleported away; the gravity of what Loki endured chilling them to the core.
