Return to Midgard
"What the hell are you doing here!?" Wanda shouted teleporting across the room to her sister who just space bridged back from Asgard. Ophelia laughed as she hugged her. It had been too long since seeing her and she relished in her embrace.
"Come on, you knew I couldn't stay away forever." Ophelia replied. Loki walked up to her holding their bags. He flicked his wrist and they dissipated with a green mist.
"What brings you back down to earth?" Wanda asked and Ophelia looked to Loki. He looked both uncomfortable and stoic. His usual demeanor. It didn't make much sense unless you saw him yourself.
"I love Asgard." Ophelia started looking at Loki. "But... earth is home. New York is home. And it is for Loki too. No matter how much he denies it. You are his people too. I can't leave. Not yet." Ophelia explained and Wanda raised an eyebrow at Loki who looked utterly uncomfortable now.
"We are staying. The Allfather has too much expectation for our union and I am not willing to give in so easily. So we have returned." Loki said then Vision walked into the room. He eyed everyone curiously attempting to get a feel of the room. Vision and Wanda had moved out of the Avengers compound into their own home in New York City. It was time they had their own space. And for now it would have to be both Loki and Ophelia's home. Ophelia and Loki had an open invitation to their home so when the moment was right, they took them up on it.
"Welcome. You may stay as long as you like." Vision stated and Loki smiled as he wrapped an arm around Ophelia.
"The decision was necessary." Loki said and Ophelia could sense he meant it. Loki didn't mind earth, but being around those who held less contempt, situation based of course, was more acceptable to him. It was his decision to fully commit to leaving Asgard. He felt Ophelia's longing to return home each day. And his mother, Frigga, told him to do what was best for his new found family. So he did.
A few weeks later Loki and Ophelia found a home down the road from Wanda. And of course it was spelled to perfection with protection charms to keep both the magical beings safe. And as for Ophelia's mortality, she was indeed granted the gift of an immortal soul. Even before their vows were said. Odin had come to the conclusion that in order to keep his son in his life he needed to hold in his pride. That things were changing in this universe and he had to either get with the times or get out. So to speak. Ophelia eventually joined the Avengers officially. Loki was considered a part timer. Considering he was not always as eager to save the people of earth as Ophelia was.
Their union would go on to last centuries. Saving the universe day by day and relishing in their immortal existence. It was just the two of them, just how they wanted it. Well, except for Thor and Jane and their child. They lived happily. But of course Loki did stir up the occasion bout of mischief.
