Family Reunion

It was awkward. Ophelia sat between Thor and Loki on the sofas in the Avengers Compound in complete silence. Although she didn't know Thor at all she still felt obligated to separate the brothers so they wouldn't attack each other. The others in the room; Happy, Peter, Tony, and Pepper sat talking quietly attempting to act as if everything was normal. But it wasn't. Nothing was normal. Tony Stark's savior disappeared after his act of heroism then suddenly showed up with a woman who has powers, and an accent, that are very similar to a one Wanda Maximoff. The silence continued until Peter seemed to have enough.

"Where is Wanda?" Peter asked. Tony looked up and then his eyes looked to Ophelia for a split second before settling back on Peter.

"She is with Vision in the lab." Tony replied.

"The lab?" Ophelia asked intrigued. She was very intelligent but she always kept her scientific side to herself. The only thing she had to occupy her time when not being experimented on while in the clutches of HYDRA was listening to what her captures spoke about. And when she finally broke free she did her research. Turns out she had a knack for understanding infinity stone magic.

"You interested in science magic hands?" Tony asked Ophelia.

"You could say that." Ophelia replied with a smirk.

"I'm sure there is more too it than that Tony." Pepper said nudging him in the arm.

"Of course, of course." Tony said then stood up. "Come on kid, to the lab we go." He continued with a cheery smile. Ophelia looked over to Loki and then to Thor.

"It's alright. I'll stay here for a bit." She said then squeezed Loki's hand.

"No darling. Go. I'll be right here when you return." Loki said with a sad smile. He didn't want to be left alone with Thor but he also didn't want to hinder on Ophelia's want to know more about the Avengers in order to move on from her past.

"As long as you're sure." Ophelia said. Loki nodded. "Okay, let's go then." Ophelia said with a small smile. And as soon as she stood up Thor scooted closer to Loki on the sofa. Loki groaned but he knew that he needed to have this talk with his brother without Ophelia present. So he could face his fear.

Ophelia followed Tony to the lab. She walked up to double doors that lead into a massive laboratory. When she walked inside and was greeted with long tables covered in various pieces of technology. Screens lined the walls and a very concerned looking man tapped on a floating projection above one of the tables. His grey curly hair was messy and his glasses kept falling down the bridge of his nose, he kept having to push them up. His arm that wasn't tapping the projection was in a sling similar to Tony's.

"Banner, Ophelia. Ophelia, Banner." Tony said gesturing between Ophelia and the man. The man looked up and smiled. He walked over to where Ophelia stood and shook her hand.

"Bruce. Nice to meet you." He said with a crooked smile that screamed anxiety. Ophelia smiled back and then looked around him. She noticed a flash of red hair and strained her eyes to see.

"Hello." A smooth voice said behind her. Ophelia let out a small shriek and she jumped a bit.

"Vis. Don't scare the poor girl." A woman with that red hair said with a dimpled smile.

"Hi." Ophelia said now feeling a bit overwhelmed with how many Avengers surrounded her in one room. Her anxiousness starting to grow. Wanda looked at her and tilted her head.

"You don't have to be scared. You aren't in any danger." Wanda said and Ophelia nodded once in understanding. There was something familiar about her, something comforting.

"Sorry I startled you. My presence can sometimes be unnerving." Vision said. His red toned skin and bright golden stone in his head confusing Ophelia slightly. She knew he was an AI but she had no idea he was so human like. So lifelike. If he didn't have all the bells and whistles Ophelia could have mistaken him for human.

"No, not at all." Ophelia said not taking her eyes off Wanda. They were staring at each other. Their eyes like daggers of intrigue upon one another. The tension in the room grew thick.

"Your accent." Wanda said.

"Sokovia." Ophelia replied and Wanda's eyes turned red. Ophelia's did the same. The two woman took a step toward each other. They circled one another slowly. Placing their hands in their air between them and allowing similar red wisps of their magic to glide and intermingle.

"What is happening?" Tony asked Bruce, as if he would know. There was silence in this moment. No one spoke a word. They continued to lace their magic together until it started to swirl around them. Passing through their bodies as if they were made of air. To the others in the room it was as if time was moving at the same speed. But to Wanda and Ophelia, it was as if time was moving slower than itself. The bright red wisps grew bigger and the two women lifted into the air. Their feet hovering just above the ground as their index fingers of their right hands began to slowly come together. Until finally, they touched. And time stood still. The wisps stopped in their place and the women froze. A flash of bright red light burst from them and Tony, Vision, and Bruce shielded their eyes.

When the light subsided and their eyes adjusted Wanda and Ophelia were holding their right hands just inches apart. Wisps of red magic flickering in the space between their hands.

"Will someone explain to me what just happened!?" Tony asked.

"Sister." Is all Wanda said. And the room went even quieter than before.
