Childhood Best Friends AU

Ever since I can remember, Connor has been in my life. We met on the first day of kindergarten and he chose to be on the eagle team rather than the lion team. Which definitely put him on my enemies list at that time. We beat them though at tug-o-war which probably put me on his enemies list. We were at each other's throats for a bit. Trying to beat each other at every competition. Stupid stuff like; who could do more cartwheels in a row (Connor), who could run the longest and fastest (me), who could eat more raisin cookies (Connor but only because I can’t stand raisins), who could chug a bottle of water quicker (me). I would make Aiden record my wins and he would make his sister, Aurora, record his wins. All the way up until second grade we would compete against each other for every little thing. But then one day he brought a strawberry themed gift basket saying sorry about being competitive and if we could be friends. I hadn’t realized that we weren’t already friends. I immediately accepted the basket and invited him over to my house to see who could win at Mario-kart. Even though we weren’t ‘sworn enemies’ anymore we stayed just as competitive and now he’s my best friend.
